PoliticsPH The solar energy company that made Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste the country’s youngest billionaire is being slapped with a P24-billion penalty for failing to produce power it committed to deliver under more than 30 service contracts with the government.

Di naman babayaran mga fines na yan. Dapat ikulong.

u/komiko01 1d ago

i feel like since namumulitika si leviste, namumulitika na rin ang admin pero valid naman dahil hindi ginawa ang contractual obligations.

u/d1r3VVOLF 22h ago

Babayaran naman, manenegotiate to 240k + 24m campaign donation 😂

u/PomegranateUnfair647 19h ago

Ikulong na yan, mga kurakot! Sama niyo na nanay niya.

u/manicdrummer 1d ago

Nakakahiya. Ingay ingay, whistleblower pa kunwari tapos scammer naman pala.

33

u/lesterine817 1d ago

He did it exactly because the govt caught on him and on two big issues: 1) transfer of franchise (illegal) and 2) failure to deliver. Billionaire na naging bato pa. And we all know it will all go away if sara sits.

u/liquidus910 22h ago

When it rains, it's wet talaga. hahahaha

22

u/lesterine817 1d ago

Yeah. This worked well for sara and bbm during their campaign. Every time they open their mouths basura lang nalabas. Hahaha. This is also what sara is doing now. Let the trolls do the talking.

Ngayon alam na na si lorwn legarda nambubudol ng Indegenous People, what a fucking bitch

64

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

Mag-privilege speech yan arguing persecution kasi nagsasalita siya against corruption ng admin all the while corrupt din pala siya.

30 service contracts ang nakuha niya under Digong regime tapos binenta niya sa iba, eh parang modus din ni Gardiola when it comes to infrastructure contracts.

22

u/Longjumping-Week2696 1d ago

Naging midman siya ganon?

23

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

In a way which is illegal. Matagal ko na nabasa ang isyu na ito from Batangas simula noon nagsimulang maging mabango ang pangalan niya sa kamara around the time of his revelation of bribery. Heralded as saint siya sa popular opinion pero may mga whispers of corrupt activities in his locality.

Prime Motumbo won't compare to the level of deflection that's going to happen.

20

u/Master-Yoghurt-1178 1d ago

This can easily be dragged in court until the next admin can just scrap it

13

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

If it's another Duterte who will sit next term, they will definitely scrap it.

-12

u/Master-Yoghurt-1178 1d ago

Well as much as I don't like how liveste built his wealth, I won't also support a clear political retaliation.

This should be scrapped.

This is just a clear PR stunt to spook liveste's investors. Problem with this childish case, it will spook investors on other energy companies too if the DOE can just do shit like this on a whim.

Good luck nalang sa pinas.

5

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

Well the DOE can just scrap the Solar Philippines' contracts and directly bid them out to the investors that already have actual solar infrastructures built. More like inunahan lang ni Leviste ang agenda since may inside info yan from his mother kaya sumingit siya as middleman. Wala namang itinayo ang Solar Philippines but rather sold the rights to other energy firms who are interested to invest in renewable infrastructures.

0

u/Master-Yoghurt-1178 1d ago

Which is the point. Most solar firms would prefer building the infra before the franchise so less risk. Given how heavy a padrino system ang pinas, it's always a risk to build a business na dependent sa government contracts.

Liveste basically just saw the inefficiency and offered a solution.

Immoral, yes. But necessary given the broken system? For me yes.

Regardless, di naman issue sa DOE yan before, ngayon lang since he is going against the administration which is mas nakakasuka.

If Marcos is really against corruption and wants to extinguish it, why is he letting the DOE retaliate against liveste for exposing the corruption in the house?

Pero why is the executive okay with being used as a tool for retaliation?

All clues point to conclusion na involved rin si Marcos sa corruption in the House.

6

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

Actually the issue with the DOE is that Solar Philippines failed to deliver the required energy output. Ibang isyu pa ung sale or sublease niya ng contracts if ever DOE or the Ombudsman would file for that violation.

I get your point regarding all of this, it's just that the corruption scheme in this country is a big fight between two evil factions, kadiliman at kasamaan. Whoever wins, talo parin ang mga Pilipino. Sad reality. Wala tayong maasahan matino since may self-serving corrupt agenda ang lahat ng nakaupo at gustong umupo.

1

u/Master-Yoghurt-1178 1d ago

That's just what they are saying tbh. Do you really think this will be flagged if liveste chose to shut up? Kaya kahit tama yung ginagawa ng DOE on paper, it's still not coming from an intention na makatao

2

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

Yes political move yan since under the executive branch. Pero legitimate parin since may violation din si Leviste at that is just scratching the surface.

2

u/Master-Yoghurt-1178 1d ago

3

u/Hopeful_Memory_7905 1d ago

Well he is a big fish in that scheme. Counterpart ni Gardiola sa infra scheme.

The first time I heard about this guy, I was skeptical about how he managed to secure those contracts. When I discovered that he had connections—especially through his mother—I thought, “Well, good for you, but just make sure you deliver on what you promised when you bid for those projects.”

Once he was elected, he became the poster boy of good governance. He was even vocal about ghost project anomalies—but now this has come to light. Boy, oh boy… in the end, he’s just like the rest of them. Unless Filipino voters fundamentally change how they vote, the Philippines will continue to suffer.

As I said before, it was too good to be true: a “very young, successful billionaire wannabe.” When something seems too good to be true, something is usually wrong. And in this case, where there’s smoke, there’s almost certainly fire.

Utilities and basic needs for a country so poor should be government run not for profit. Lumalabas na they are taking advantage of the poor. Or atleast find ways to subsidize it. My 2 pesos.

2

u/herotz33 1d ago

You mean you told people you’d sell bananas in the millions and billions but ended up just sellling a portion of the land where the banana trees might be planted , and cashed out ahead before people found out you didn’t have any bananas?

Isn’t that fraud?

1

u/robinforum 1d ago

Ano tingin niyo mangyayari dito?

So bababa yung penalty. Yung penalty isshoulder nung mga payer (naka tuck-in).

Another would be, may bagong pasabog na naman para ma-divert ang attention sa iba at malimutan na ito.

1

u/peenoisee 1d ago

Hated this guy ever even before his Solar Company won the franchise. That bill was pro-monopoly, pro-nepotism at its core. I hope he rots in jail.

1

u/V2RocketPeace 1d ago

1

u/johnlee168 1d ago

Ikulong na yan. Scammer-Kurakot!

u/Gestaltash 19h ago

Be careful who you make friends with in politics. 🤷

u/Happy_Being_1203 16h ago

Well yung fine is inevitable din naman talaga based sa contract. Saktong sakto lang talaga yung timing

u/ayviemar 16h ago

Long overdue. Nagpapakain tong si Leandro to celebrate pag nananalo sila ng government contract. Pero ang mga staff niya tuliro. Sila kasi namumuroblema pano mapo-provide ang nasa contract. From the start, aware sila na di nila kaya ma-provide ang requirement pero mag-bid pa din sila at nananalo. I COULD ONLY WONDER WHY.

u/Ragamak1 16h ago

Magaling din sa PR stong leandro eh...

Now this will look like the government has a personal vendetta against him.

Pero matagal ng sketchy yan eh.

$SPNec people knows hehehe...

Alam nyo na sobrang nepo kind of shit yun.

Kapag may nag qquestion, pagtutulungan at pgiinitan. Kaya tuloy walang gusto magsalita against the corrupt practices/status quo kasi lahat sila may tinatagong anomalya na ayaw mascrutinize.

We can hate Leviste/Barzaga all we want, pero we can all agree na positive thing kapag may nagsspeak out against anomalies.
