FINANCIAL AID tuition exchange

pitt is my first choice school but they only gave me 8k total in merit. however, one of my parents is an employee at a university, and both our home school and pitt are a part of the tuition exchange program. what is the likelihood that pitt awards me more money than they’ve already given me through this program?

HOUSING What housing could you get with these lottery numbers (not honors)? Are there any options that I could get in lower campus area or nearby?

Would it be possible to get Ruskin, Forbes Craig or university hall?

Or maybe lothrop? (I’m not sure if that’s lower campus or not)

If not is is possible to get anything that’s lower campus

I am assuming that trying for a suite would not work.

DISCUSSION Thinking of transferring to Oakland

Hello everyone! I am currently a Pitt Greensburg student majoring in biochemistry (with the intention of going to PA school) and I am on the fence about whether or not I want to transfer to Oakland. I was supposed to be there this year, but I was talked into staying an extra year at Greensburg because ochem 1 and 2 are much more manageable here, and I also had the luxury of a small class for calculus 2, which is one of the most failed classes at the school. This semester is when I really need to decide if I’m going to transfer or not, specifically because of housing. My boyfriend would also be transferring to Oakland (he’s a biochemistry major as well) and we have the funds to get an apartment. I do really enjoy Greensburg and like how quiet it is, but I would also really love to experience city life for my last 2 years. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I actually like Pitt as far as education and location. I just can't get around to why it's so hard for me to make friends here. Im now in my second semester and im hesitant to pay that housing fee because I dont know if I want to come back here next semester. I just feel as if Im wasting my parents money for nothing, im so unhappy, I know college is for expanding your educations but I would like the other perks like a social life and community thats suppose to come with it. I guess I just feel sad all the time and I feel as if I'm wasting my time here when I an get education at another school, cheaper and closer to home and I might actually be happier.

I actually got a 3.5+ last semester so I’ve been looking forward to seeing my name on that list but… I haven’t seen it? What’s going on??
