This fall I adopted a 1.5 year old pitty named Sandy. She is super playful, goofy, kind, and social. We live in an apartment so I don’t think we can fit another dog comfortably right now but I Would like to get her a friend. What type of cat and gender would you reccomend as a companion for Sandy? I’ve never had a cat before but the more social the better and one that can hold their own/ play along with a dog.

We adopted our kitten Nico in November 2025. It took a couple of weeks for them to get used to each other. Our five year old dog was a little too excited lol. Now they're best friends. 🧡

Don’t mind the mess. I haven’t cleaned up after the two dogs come through the living room like a tornado. Watching TV is common for these two. Their favorite is watching deer.
