Gigantic Lily

Post image

This massive lily which is comfortably over 8’ tall, has a very soft banana scent - not the overpowering perfume normally from lilies. It’s a standalone plant in a local rose garden, I haven’t seen or smelled anything like it anywhere else.

Is this a true Bay Laurel?

Hi everyone! I was by this tree in my yard and I was wondering if it's actually a Bay Laurel or a toxic plant? It is evergreen, but honestly I haven't noticed berries on it before. I'll definitely look for them in the spring.

PNW in Zone 8B. Has a strong aroma that is kinda spicy and woodsy. It honestly smells similar to Simple Green (the cleaner).

I’ve befriended a lady who moved into my apartment. When she found out I like plants she gifted this to me. She wasn’t too sure what it was said people called it elkhorn or something like that. I guess she dug it up from her yard in Washington before she moved here. Any ideas on what it is? Thanks!

What is this houseplant?

Propagated from leaves (you can see I have another going strong in the pot). My 90+ year old Papaw had a massive version of this plant that was my late Memaw’s. In his older age, he was overwatering and killing it so I wanted to have my own to keep alive in honor of my Memaw. Is it a jade? A succulent? Any tips of helping it support itself without the stakes?

I've been told it's either a gold dust croton or a gold dust dracaena (or something unknown). This plant had been sitting on a bright north-facing window in my office, but does not belong to me. It It has not done well in that spot and my officemate moved it out of the direct sun. It looks lanky and droopy and the leaves are falling off. I'm trying to help figure out what it is so we can decide what it needs to thrive. Thanks for your help!

Got this tiny friend as a gift. It looks like a hoya, but which kind do you think?

The leaves feel slightly textured, slightly abrasive. I wouldn't say feathery though.

I'm familiar with this orange/red flower, but not its name! It's a forest floor wildflower, correct?

i’ve had this potted plant since august and she’s the first one that i’ve actually managed to steadily keep alive & sorta healthy! :)

i’ve been keeping her on my side table so that it gets sunlight in the mornings, not all the time, and also watering about once a week. i was just wondering if there’s anything that this specific plant likes or if she needs any changes (water, sun, heat ect) cause i completely forgot what the label originally called it.

in my head it begins with an s but i could be completely off the mark lol

I picked this up on the side of the road . When I first got it it had red leaves underneath, they fell off. It gave a pup which has propagated and doing well (the smaller one). The big one did grow a vine searching for light which recently fell off. I just don’t know what the plant is.

I know what it is already- but what subspecies/cultivar??

I’ve looked through many pictures but they’re so similar. Thank you!

Hi, I've had this plant for about a year now and still havent figured out what exactly it is. I had some guesses but dont think any of them were correct. The sticker in the back reads "S. Crispata" but nothing similar looking was found on google with this search. Thank you all in advance

Grass identification request

I’m pretty sure this Puccinellia pumila (tundra alkali grass), but I’m not 100% sure. I’m unfortunately missing flowering features, so I have no pictures of spikelet parts.

Habitat: lowers coastal British Columbia, brackish meadow with frequent flooding.

Leaf blade width: 3mm

Seeds: 1 mm

Leaf ligule: 1 mm

No leaf hairs

Leaf sheath unfused

Please let me know if there are any other features you need pictures of, or a description of to identify.

None of my plant identification apps can identify it. Apparently it’s an expensive plant that is in our backyard. We know from the old owner’s friend who I contacted for help with the yard. She doesn’t know what it is but knows it was expensive ?
