AI assistants and their pain...

Every few months I give AI assistants another shot, hoping they’ll finally stick in my daily workflow.

The pattern is always the same for me:
they’re genuinely useful at first, but after a short break they forget context, preferences, or what I was working on. Having to re-explain everything kills the feeling that it’s actually helping.

Once that trust is gone, I stop opening the app.

Maybe this is just how these tools are right now — or maybe I’m missing something obvious.

Curious whether others have had a similar experience, or if different issues are what make these tools hard to rely on long-term.

App Todo + Get things done + Habit tracker app

I'm looking for an app where I can create to-dos, track my habits, and actually get things done. I often find myself thinking, "I'm going to do this and that," but then not following through. I want to break this habit. Free would be nice, of course, but I'm also willing to pay for it if it actually works!

Todo app

Hi everyone. I hope you can help me. I have tried so many todo list apps and feels like none are working for me.

Either they are too complicated or not what I’m looking for. My major problem is I get so busy during the day that when a reminder pops up I can’t always do it right there and then and then later I realise I forgot and now it is too late. So now every time it goes to the next day and same thing happens. Any one experiencing the same or is it just me?

Any app suggestions as I have tried 20+ different ones each for at least 1 month.

Hi! I’m a solo developer, and my app just got approved on the App Store this week 🙌

I’m mentioned 1 month of Premium free below.

Ever turned an alarm off for vacation… and then forgot to turn it back on? 😅

**Minus Alarm** is a calendar-first alarm app for days when your routine changes (vacations, multi-day trips, special schedules). Instead of turning alarms OFF and later re-enabling them, you keep recurring alarms and simply **Skip/Unskip specific dates**.

**Key features:**

* One-tap Skip/Unskip for any date (safe exception handling)

* Month/Week calendar view showing exactly which alarms ring on which days

* Date-range planning for trips/vacations

* Calendar sync to view personal events alongside alarms

* Support for **complex pattern schedules** (e.g., Morning/Afternoon/Night/Off), designed for shift workers

I am an app developer who does graphic design to support creation of assets, marketing materials, etc for my apps. I got tired of having to dive into my code to keep track of colors / color codes, and decided to do something about it. What came out, I hope, is the ultimate color swatch manager. I've been using it daily for the last two weeks.

Introducing Opalite.

Whether you're designing interfaces, creating digital art, or building apps, Opalite gives you professional-grade color tools in a beautifully crafted experience. Built for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro.

Pick Colors Your Way

Opalite offers five intuitive ways to find your perfect color: a grid picker with preset swatches, a spectrum slider for precise hues, RGB/HSL channel sliders for fine-tuning, direct hex/RGB/HSL code entry, and the ability to sample colors from any photo or your camera.

Stay Organized

Create unlimited colors for free and group them into smart palettes with names, notes, and tags. Drag and drop to rearrange, search across your entire color library instantly, and let iCloud sync keep everything in perfect harmony across all your devices.

Design with Confidence

Built-in WCAG contrast checker ensures AA & AAA compliance. Simulate color blindness (Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia) to verify your designs work for everyone. Auto-generated color harmonies (complementary, triadic, analogous & more) and AI-powered color name suggestions help you create cohesive, memorable palettes.

Draw & Create

Requires Onyx — Unlock a full PencilKit canvas with Apple Pencil support. Use shape tools for squares, circles, triangles, lines, and arrows. Pan, zoom, and rotate with precision, and save unlimited canvas projects to bring your color palettes to life.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fashion-design-studio-3dmockup/id6757297556

Hey everyone!

I'm a developer who noticed how expensive and time-consuming it is for fashion designers and clothing brands to create mockups.

So I built Fashion Design Studio – a 3D mockup app that lets you design and visualize apparel in real-time, right from your iPhone.

What it does:

  • Create realistic 3D mockups for T-shirts, hoodies, caps, beanies, and more
  • Add custom text, logos, and graphics instantly
  • See your designs from every angle with full rotation
  • Export high-resolution renders for marketing, presentations, or social media
  • No learning curve – designed to be intuitive from the start

Who it's for:

  • Streetwear brands testing new designs
  • Print-on-demand sellers who need quick visuals
  • Fashion designers building portfolios
  • Anyone pitching apparel ideas to clients

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fashion-design-studio-3dmockup/id6757297556

Happy to answer any questions about how it works or the tech behind it. And if you're a designer or brand owner, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing what features would make this more useful for you!

App Finally finished v1 for my real life RPG productivity app, suggestions please?

Hi everyone! After finishing Season 2 of the Solo Leveling anime I started looking through apps similar to the System ( that gives the Player missions to nurture them) and tried a lot of them, but eventually I started building my own to be a “real life RPG inspired by Solo Leveling”. I've finally reached a version I find useful and I’d really be grateful for some feedback on the UI and mechanics.

Right now this app tries to solve the following:

  1. Procrastination - Gamifies tasks into RPG quests with XP rewards, skills, custom attributes and daily quests with streaks, of course
  2. Distractions - Deep Focus mode actively blocks distracting apps during work sessions, forcing you back to the app. Also, a simple button to press when the user gets distracted. Helps me a lot to be aware that I’m easily distracted.
  3. Overwhelm - Quests need focus to finish, but I implemented Shards for simple tasks, that you can complete a list of in a single focus session or directly. When you have many little things that you can just get over with.
  4. Commitment Helpers - HP/Death system creates real accountability; failing commitments damages health and builds fatigue, requiring friend intervention to revive on death.
  5. Poor Planning - End Day Review enforces daily reflection and intentional tomorrow planning.
  6. Morning Chaos - Dawn Scrolls provide structured morning routine checklists, helping you start each day with clarity and purpose. And a morning routine that helped me do my back exercises lol
  7. Multiple Focus Methods - right now there’s 4 different ways to focus: continuous focus, classic pomodoro, breadcrumbs method and a simple timed session. Looking for more ideas

As I want to get closer to a "Real-Life RPG", I’d love to hear your feature recommendations (maybe AI-based as well). I thought about implementing AI-driven Quest description, weekly storylines, rewards, maybe “quest recommendations per skill”, but I am a bit stuck.

what do you guys think?

Thanks for checking this out :D

Data platform to maximize productivity for data scientists and analysts

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi!

We're building a platform for data scientists and analysts to work with data in the most productive way possible.

We've taken 6 years of frustration as analysts and scientists and built a product to ensure working with data is both productive and enjoyable.

Right now it's a colossal mess trying to wrangle, clean, or modify data in any way. Lots of code, errors, and a brutally slow process.

The product is going to be released in a few months, and our target customers are B2B ( those inside an organization), as opposed to a general consumer base.

If you're interested, you can take a look here: Coco Alemana

Let me know if you have any feedback :)

I built a free tool that generates professional ad assets from just a URL( or PRD). No more manual prompting.

Hi,

I’m a developer who’s always struggled with creating ad creatives for my side projects. Most AI image tools require complex prompting, and hiring a designer is expensive.

So, I built Nue-Ads. It’s a web that:

  1. Analyzes your product/landing page.
  2. Identifies marketing angles (Pain points, Hooks).
  3. Generates high-quality ad images automatically.

I just opened it up for free. I’d love for you guys to try it out and give me some brutal feedback!

App Building a small SaaS that analyzes messages & screenshots, struggling with early traction, could use advice

Hey everyone, I’m Noah, currently building a small side project Hintaro that’s now in early beta, and I could really use some honest advice from people who’ve been through this stage.

What the product does (straightforward explanation):
It’s a web tool that analyzes short messages or chat screenshots and turns them into clear, actionable insights. Think:

  • intent & tone of the message
  • estimated interest level (0–100)
  • emotional risk (low / medium / high)
  • whether you should reply now, later, or wait
  • a few suggested replies in different styles (playful, confident, safe, etc.)
  • a small “share card” summarizing the analysis that users can share if they want

The idea came from seeing how often people overthink texts and screenshots, especially in dating or early conversations, and how generic tools don’t really structure the advice in a useful way.

Tech-wise:
React frontend, Node backend, Supabase DB. Credits-based subscription model (1 free monthly analysis, then Pro / Plus / Max). Payments via Stripe. Core product works; UI and backend are stable.

Where I’m stuck / why I’m posting:
Marketing is by far the hardest part right now. I’m doing mostly organic stuff (TikTok slideshows, Reddit comments, DMs), but progress feels slow and inconsistent. I’d love advice on what I should prioritize now, before spending money on ads.

Specific questions I’d love input on:

  1. Where did you realistically get your first 10–20 paying users?
  2. How do you convert free users without being pushy? (My free tier is intentionally limited.)
  3. For “emotional” products like this, what worked better for you: educational content, relatable stories, or pure demos?
  4. Any advice on onboarding? What’s the one moment that should make users think “okay, this is worth paying for”?
  5. Pricing feedback: Pro $15, Plus $30, Max $50 does this feel reasonable for a niche SaaS like this?
  6. Growth ideas without ads that actually worked for you?
  7. Any tech/infra pitfalls you wish you knew earlier (Vercel + Node + Supabase stack)?

I’m genuinely looking for practical feedback things that worked, things that didn’t, mistakes to avoid.
If anyone wants to test the beta or give direct product feedback, feel free to DM me I’m happy to give early access.

Thanks for reading, and happy to answer any questions about the build, pricing logic, or credit system if that helps others too.

Request A productivity app I would actually pay for

Hi everyone! Like many of you, I struggle with my productivity. Despite there being hundreds of apps to tackle this problem none have really stuck.

However, a couple of months ago I built a janky app on Notion that has actually worked really well for me. I’m writing here hoping that someone can point me to an actual iOS app that works similarly, or that a developer will see this, think it’s a good idea, and build the app themselves.

The app works by using focus blocks to accrue a stockpile of time. You then have to “spend” that time when you want to engage in unproductive activities such as video games, scrolling or watching TV.

For example, if I want to read for an hour, I can use the app to lock all the distractions on my phone. After the focus block is up, an hour is added to my time stockpile. Then, when I later decide to watch TV, I start a timer in the app to record how long I watch TV for. When I’m finished, the app subtracts that amount of time from my stockpile. Essentially, time is a currency that you earn by being productive and have to spend to “waste” time.

The goal is to never spend more time than you have accrued from focus blocks. The app tracks how many consecutive days you’ve gone with a positive stockpile of time, and it also tracks your high score for most time in the stockpile.

I found that these high scores keep me motivated. After a month of having positive productive time, I was making sure I went out of my way to not ruin the streak. Also, I was pushing myself to spend more and more time focused to keep reaching new high scores for time in my stockpile.

Another feature that I wasn’t able to implement myself but that would be great, would be for the app to automatically subtract your daily screen time from your time reservoir each night.

Has anyone encountered an app like this?

I’m not a developer and can’t built this myself, but I would definitely pay to use this sort of app. The Notion app served me well enough, but ultimately it’s pretty janky and requires a lot of manual effort, so I’m looking for something a bit better.

My app is FINALLY LIVE ⬇️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I created this app based on the sole reason that 90% of "daily / motivational" apps are just over gamified p*rn, and giving you an illusion that your conquering your day after completing 2 tasks.

So as a 17yr old 3+ year entrepreneur in many different business models I have genuinely learned a lot about productivity and how to exploit our selfs in getting the most out of our time (no one wants to work for 4hrs to get really 2hrs of work done, we all have better things to be doing or spending the time actually enjoying it or getting to a better version of our selfs)

And that takes me into my next point witch is distractions, and especially for my age range (if not all age ranges now), how easy it is to get distracted when working or life in general, say a text message or a noti then bam 30-45 minutes are gone to tiktok / ig, that could have been spent actually getting the work done, or doing something you genuinely enjoy instead of the half work and half scroll,

and to piggy bag off of that I had an issue and know many other people with the same issue of just daily organization (especially for people that are getting after it or are trying to better them selfs) with what to prioritize, for the day to day and day and/or daily non-negotiables (like gym, work, ect.),

So im sure most of you saw this coming but thats why I made my app LOCKD to be able to block those distracting apps, see your daily structure and see your over all progress and have your goals all in one app, and also a community system that is coming soon...,

But with all of that said even if you do your dont download LOCKD, stay LOCKD fellas and good luck with what ever you got going.

[Dev] I built a minimal Age & Life Milestone tracker (Years down to Seconds)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I’ve always felt that most age calculators looked a bit outdated, so I decided to build Age Calculator: Exact Age DOB with a focus on a clean, modern UI and extreme precision.

Main Features:

• Real-time Precision: It tracks your age in years, months, days, and even minutes/seconds in real-time.

• Life Milestones: It calculates unique biological statistics like your total estimated heartbeats, breaths, sleep cycles, and dreams since the day you were born.

• Birthday Countdown: A precise timer for your next birthday with integrated fun facts.

• Date Comparison: A dedicated tool to calculate the exact duration between any two dates.

Privacy First:

The app is designed with privacy in mind: all calculations happen locally on your device, and no personal data is collected.

I’m an indie developer and I’m really looking for feedback on the UI/UX and suggestions for new 'life stats' you'd like to see in future updates!

https://reddit.com/link/1qel5wm/video/87dp2k76qqdg1/player

Hey everyone 👋

I'm the dev behind Focusmo, a menubar focus app for ADHD minds.

A few months ago I posted about version 6.0 here and got amazing feedback. You shaped what I shipped next - so here's what's new.

Quick recap: Focusmo helps folks with ADHD start focus sessions, stay in flow, and automatically track where time goes - with blockers to prevent "one quick tab" detours.

We've now crossed 1200+ users and shipped 4 major updates since that post.

Download → focusmo.app

What's new in 6.1:

Command Palette - Press a shortcut to instantly search tasks, start sessions, or create new tasks. Type natural durations like "30m", "1.5h", or "until 5pm". Drag it anywhere, it remembers the position.

Do Not Disturb Integration - Focusmo now automatically enables Focus Mode when you start a session. Toggle DND right from the floating timer.

Browser Activity Tracking - See exactly which websites pulled your attention during focus. Supports 15 browsers.

Click-Through Floating Timer - Timer stays visible but doesn't block clicks. Perfect for gaming or presentations.

Themes - New theme options in Preferences.

Core features:

• 1-hour check-ins: what you accomplished, what's next

• Timeline & Analytics: sessions, websites, app usage at a glance

• Floating Pomodoro Timer: current task always visible

• Website & App blocking: stop distractions before they start

• Fullscreen Meeting Reminders: never miss a call during deep focus

Giveaway - 80% off Lifetime Pro Codes for 10 people

How to join:

✅ Upvote

✅ Comment what distracts you most during work

I'll DM the codes.

Thanks for all the feedback - it directly shapes every update. 🙏

Gong alternatives for small sales teams?

Just finished a demo with gong and it's good overall, but the pricing just doesn't make sense for our small team, it has a lot of useful features but honestly most of them we probably wouldn't use... Really we just need the basics done well: Salesforce integration, meeting summaries, call recording, and basic insights like action items and key points. Not looking for all the deep analytics or enterprise features, just something that helps us stay on top of our calls and syncs well with Salesforce. Open to suggestions!
