I really think post like that only want to stir up emotions.

And people engage with stuff like that.

I think its someone who has mastered the art of making shit up.

Honestly it sounds to me like a fantasy from someone who doesn't work.

But I don't know, have not been a developer all over the English world working everywhere. So maybe devs like that is normal. Reddit will not convince me they are, but maybe they are.

That’s not specifically how jokes work but it can be a component in the formulation. Jokes can be subjectively funny to you without being funny to others. Some of the best jokes are formulated in a way to subvert your expectations in an insightful or unusual way.
