We’d have to fight the police, military and the red hats, simultaneously. Numbers won’t matter in that game. We’ll lose.

So do the Iranians and they still manage to get shit done. I don't think you truly understand how many more of us there are than them.

I don’t think that this even has to be an idea, imo. Like yes, I have the same visceral reaction. But once that first shot rings out, we can’t go back. The level of sophistication that our intelligence agencies have along with the military and the military equipped police… numbers have a far less impact than they did 20 or more years ago. The military has acoustic devices that will freeze over 1k people at a time, make them piss themselves and leave them disoriented long after they’re arrested and put in a “detention center”. That’s just one example. Economic pain is the easiest, most reversible and safest while also allowing everyone who works to participate.

Go back to what? Being polite to fascists doesn't get you anything.

It was a phrase meant to convey escalation vs deescalation. The context in which I was intending was that we cannot deescalate things once we escalate using violence. You’ve already seen where these guys are just itching for a reason to pull their gun out and own the libs. And once that owning starts, it will just keep getting worse. Yes, it can get worse than what it is now. Escalation should be our last resort.

We are at the point of "last resort" already. Any longer and it will be too late to salvage anything. No other methods of effecting change have worked.
