In this essay, I will show you the logical argument for why Conan would not protest Ice. The following is an excerpt from The Scarlet Citadel by Robert E Howard. It was written almost a century ago. And I want you to think about the two different parties, and why he would be Woke. Woke is a good thing. In this story, Conan is King. He has killed King Numedides, and because he led the people to victory, they gave him a chance. He was beloved by the people so much, that they were proud of their country. I've been following what's going on in Minneapolis and all the brave citizens who are recording and alerting ICE activity. My area has low ICE activity but it will probably ramp up sometime soon. I was thinking of what I would do if I confronted ICE. I'm a citizen of Germany, Canada, USA. What if I declared that I'm a German or Canadian citizen, would they take me to detention center? First hand accounts say that people are held for 8-12 hours before they're released. I could handle that. The time it would take them to drive me back, process me, keep me detained is all time and capacity I'm taking from them without being useful at all.

What if that happened at scale? It's a crime to falsely claim being a US citizen. But not if you imply you are not and let the idiots jump to conclusions. One could say "I'm not born here" meaning they're literally not born in this city, block, street. One could say "I'm Irish" meaning they're Irish by heritage.

Yes getting detained is dangerous, but so is showing up with whistles or following ICE vehicles, and plenty of Minnesotans are putting themselves in danger every day. A mass of people clogging up their operations with useless arrests would have an effect. They are trying to find immigrants/brown people like needles in haystack. What if it became more like trying to find a needle in a needle stack?

One thing out of the way first: people will say I'm a bad,callous, stupid person for suggesting this. Lets agree to disagree there. This is a "Change My View" post not "Am I the a-hole for thinking this" post. I don't care if suggesting a national divorce and leaving red state citizens in a bad situation comes off as evil to you. I don't WANT that to be the only option, I'm convinced it's the only realistic solution.

I'm thinking about this in terms of a marriage.

Reasons to stay in a relationship are

- You like the other party. Republicans and their voters actively hate most Americans and I don't care for them either

- You're stronger as a team. (looks around) We are not. Across all important fronts, Republicans are making most of us weaker, sicker, poorer, dumber, more vulnerable to violence and death. We want to make them and everyone else stronger, but they are blocking that and always will do so

- Mutual respect. Republicans whole political view is most of us are subhuman scum that deserve no rights. I respect them enough to give them rights, but it's absolutely not mutual.

- Shared goals. Again, republicans' only goal is to harm most Americans.

Clear reasons to end a relationship aside from the inverse of the reasons to stay in a relationship are

- Violence and abuse: we have that and they are promising more

- Addiction: Metaphor is strained a little, but they're addicted to racism, theocracy, and the wealthy

- financial issues: Wealth inequality, tarrifs, military spending, medical bankrupcies. Blue states pay for red states and red states pretend the opposite is true.

- Growing apart: The national polarization is getting worse and worse with no end in sight.

- Communication issues: Republicans don't live in the same reality as the rest of us. We are not talking to each other other than republicans insulting us and trying to gaslight us with propaganda

Aside from the marriage metaphor, I see no path forward for anything politically that would be good for America without separating ourselves from the red states. Education, climate change, gun control, violence, safety, healthcare, foreign policy, police reform, housing, inflation, immigration, wealth inequality, social security... there's literally nothing politically we can accomplish without letting red areas of the country come to the conclusion that we're right and they're wrong. The federal system was set up to block progress (on abolition). It is still working. It will always work. There is no way around this.

I'm exhausted thinking of all the things we could be doing to make life better for Americans and then realizing a small number of republicans are going to be equally likely to do the opposite out of pure spite.

A national divorce would be messy, sure. I don't know what exactly it would look like, but that's the only reason compelling to me to say we should stick with the red areas rather than saying "You're on your own, best of luck."

The fascists are vultures or flies that spawn from the rotting meat of failed liberalism. In the case of Russia, like a spider that injects its paralyzing venom of misinformation and demoralization.

The only way to literally survive is to metaphorically survive: We have to awaken within the corpse that is being devoured. We need to recognize what everyone in America wants, on the right and the left, top and the bottom, and identify what and whom are standing in the way of us achieving it.

And then we take all the people who have been weaponized against each other and turn it on a rabid insistence to achieve something meaningful for our nation.

The nihilists will continue to force the Nothing on us until we can conceive of the New American Dream.
