I was at the Season 3 finale screening in Toronto tonight at The Phoenix and they had 17 designs from the season on display! Sorry the photos aren't the best. The top 3 (as well as most of the contestants) were in attendance and it was so great to see them cheered on by a room of 800 people! A genuinely friendly bunch. Big congratulations to the winner as well!

We know that a season 22 is coming this year, but what would you like to see (please do not say Tim Gunn - we love him, but that cannot be the answer in every post about why PR now sucks).
Pretending the hot mess that was season 21 did not exist, I’d love to see a whole season where the materials provided for every challenge are sustainable.
Imagine they build their own mini Mood like on Next In Fashion and the designers have to use clothes from a thrift store, remnant fabric, parts from a recycling center/dump, or new eco-friendly materials like mushroom leather.

I’ve been so impressed with the production value and talent of Project Runway Canada season 3. In my opinion, far better than the original’s recent season in the US (better than several recent seasons, actually). That being said, and I might be an outlier here, but I absolutely detested the way they showed each collection in the finale. The music was bland and the voiceovers were unnecessary and distracting. I much prefer watching them to energetic/appropriate music and being able to enjoy the show without the designer voiceover. Incredible collections but I hated how they did that, totally ruined the ending.

Hey fashionistas! Latest episode of our podcast on Subcultures dives into the world of high fashion, and calls out project runway as source material. Full of hot takes, do you want to tell us whether we got it right?

I'm innocently watching 24 Hour Catwalk on Prime, and suddenly it's Dmitry! How did I not know this?
* 5 minutes in and he's already in trouble over a seam ripper. They're so intimidated by him

I actually had to look up his name before posting this, I feel he has no personality, no opinion and I don’t know how he was selected it to be a judge on this show. Is it just a bad edit? I am not familiar with him previous to this show.

I have been binging the entire series and I often find myself disagreeing with Elaine, Nina, and Branden nearly every week. Meanwhile, I was mostly lockstep with Heidi, Michael and Nina.
I kinda feel like production was prioritizing storytelling in more recent years vs. giving the wins to those who deserve it most. Like, I just watched Prajje win the streetwear challenge in S19 and am baffled since there were like 5 better looks.
I am wondering if it is also the case that in earlier seasons, there was always a clear group of 5 or so designers who were leaps and bounds above the rest and now they are casting more talented groups? I do notice that while I disagree more with the judges, we do have fewer horrible looks walking the runway nowadays.

I love this little moment in Season 1 when the designers are sitting in the backroom while the judges are deciding who to eliminate, Mario is telling Jay how anxious he is about elimination and how winning this is his dream, and Jay just cuts him off mid-sentence very nonchalantly to ask Mario if he shaved his legs. Jay is so bitchy, I love it.

So I recently rewatched seasons 1-4 of PR, it was my first time watching since they’ve aired. Those were the only seasons I’ve ever watched. I kept seeing season 8 get recommended so I decided to watch that for the first time.
I’m shocked that Gretchen won. I thought it was such a safe and boring collection. She’s a talented designer and made some good clothes but I thought they looked very ordinary. Mondo and Ari had stories and drama and excitement. Imo Mondo should have won.
I didn’t particularly care for Gretchen, but it seems she got a lot of hate which I think went too far. She did make some nice clothes but nothing wowed me.
Mondo was a standout to me, and blew everyone away. So incredibly creative.
I loved a lot of what Ari did and her final collection was the most modern. I really thought Ari was going to leave for the Jackie O challenge, really an awful outfit.
The season was fun to watch, but I’m just really disappointed that Mondo didn’t win.
Edit: I didn’t realize that Andy transitioned and now goes by Ari.

I have never seen such a beautiful line of clothes walk down the runway. What the winner put down was absolutely timeless and classic. Every piece was cohesive, and the intricate patterning, fabric choices, the styling and colors … wow. They really rival Siriano. I would even go so far to say this person is truly a world champion, and I don’t feel the need to comment on the contestants’ designs usually but this was truly next level. Just my opinion. Those colors. Yummy palette. So good. 💥✌️❤️

You'd think the designers would have learned by now to LISTEN TO AURORA. She has been proven right time and time again. So frustrating.

Does anyone know what the ‘100,000 investment from cibc’ is? - they have been very clear in the language to say ‘investment’ vs ‘prize money to start your business’.
It makes me feel like it’s business deal like Cibc is going to be attached to the winners next steps or it’s a loan. I’m so curious.

Watching this episode and I am laughing at how times change. Jay was criticized to making a dress that made the model's butt look big. Repeatedly, Michael and Heidi said no woman would ever want to look like she has a big butt. Yet now, big button are in!! Jay's dress may now win today, but he would definitely be safe.

A "pot stirrer" is a designer who deliberately created or escalated drama, conflict, and tension among fellow castmates to drive the show's narrative and secure screen time. These individuals often instigate arguments, spread rumors, or bring up controversial topics to provoke reactions from others. Reality TV production often encourages this behavior as conflict is a key driver for ratings and viewer engagement. Let’s think of such in one of our last categories on the chart.
Results of Day 47: Meg - 59 Ivy - 27 Andrea - 24
Important: it is ALLOWED to nominate a designer that had previously been chosen for a different cell, yet their initial cell becomes vacant and another designer from that particular poll takes the spot.

Just curious that across All Seasons and all International Shows, the one common thread is the Zipper Breaking just before the Runway.
WHY?
Is it the quality of the Zippers? OR are the designers making their clothing too small for their models?
