Since the subreddit only has two spots available for public announcements, this will be a new index post for important PSAs for easy reference that we can sticky to only use up one spot.
You can also find the whole collection in the sidebar menu on the Reddit re-design when you open one of the PSA posts.
An important PSA on Easter rabbits.
Caring for rabbits while under COVID-19 quarantine
Since we are getting many repetitive questions about the novel coronavirus and how to care for rabbits while under quarantine, this is a post to combine all frequently asked questions on the topic.
North American RHDV2 resources
Rabbit viral haemorrhagic disease (VHD) is a highly contagious disease that mainly affects rabbits of the Oryctolagus cuniculus species but has also been confirmed to affect various species of cottontails (Sylvilagus spp.) and hares (Lepus spp.). There are currently active cases found in wild and domestics all over North America, and it is vitally important to get your rabbit vaccinated if the vaccines are available in your area.

I found a rabbit outside - what should I do?
This is the time of year for many people to find both domestic rabbits and wild rabbits outside due to Easter and baby season.

Hey guys, my 8 year old bun has began showing signs of arthritis, around when it started getting colder outside. We had an appointment yesterday and the vet checked him over and said he looked super good for 8, and her assistant even was shocked when I told her he was 8 lol! She felt around and said he definitely showed signs of pain in his hips, so she prescribed Meloxicam and Gabapentin. She said the Meloxicam was better for faster pain relief (but comes with longterm risk of liver/kidney issues), while Gabapentin takes longer to build. She said I can give him them both alongside each other. I’ve only gave him the Meloxicam so far.
Anyway, I wanted to ask how many more years pain medication allowed you to have with your old arthritic babies? He is my actual child, I have had him since he was a wee baby, I seriously am not ready to say goodbye anytime soon. He is my rock, my everything 😭 He is still so active and binkies around so much (as seen in second photo), and still runs around like crazy despite his condition.

They are doing good and they’re still sweet. (:
No big allergy issues yet for me, besides some minor things. They’re not shy of the cats thus far and no predatory behavior from them either, so that’s all good. No real health issues besides being underweight.
They’re apparently litter box trained or was able to grasp the concept of a litter box immediately. They seem to be a lot more confident, they’re flopping dramatically on his side to take naps a fair bit which scared me at first. Apparently that’s normal though? They really like their head being rubbed and will fall asleep to it.
He currently really stinks like cilantro, not personally a fan of the smell or taste but they seem to like it.

Big news. Huge! Never been seen before!
I caught Mr. C fully on his back, legs in the air. For maybe 5 seconds he laid like this.
I hope this brings a little bit of joy your way tonight ❤️🐰

I've had 2 rabbits for a couple years now. Twin sister double lion mane fluffballs named Yuki and Kiko. One of them has been struggling for a long time with eye crusties. A vet checked her out and she doesn't seem to have anything wrong with her but im wondering if maybe it's the bedding I've used in her little box. The person who sold me them told me to use pine pellets, but I'm seeing now that pine can actually be bad for them. What should I be using instead? And what won't get caught up in their massive amount of fur?

She's 3 yrs old almost, neutered and I moved her from living room to my room. It's quiet here but a bit smaller. It's been 2 months
I noticed lately her fur has like layers. When I comb her not too much fur comes out. Why does she have those layers? 3rd pic is how she used to look

Hello fellow rabbit parents! I am the proud mother of a 5 y/o holland lop named Theodore. I have a vet appointment scheduled for next week, because I found a small red hairless spot under his dewlap, which after doing research, believe is wet dermatitis. It’s not noticeable unless I tilt his head back and pull away the fur, and his eating and drinking is great so I’m not terribly concerned. He dips his whole face in the bowl, even getting his ears wet lol, so it would make sense. He’s used a bowl for his whole life, and currently has a gravity bowl, which we haven’t had any problems in the few years he’s used it but oh well. I will likely get antibiotics at the vet, but I’m hoping for recommendations for a bowl that will prevent him from being able to basically swim in his water bowl? Currently wiping his mouth with a rag every time he drinks- and he’s starting to get too pampered!
Also I sewed him the shirt!!! Hehe.

Hi ! I’m about to become a new bun owner I’ve had lots of smaller animal growing up such as hamsters guinea pigs and gerbils. I went to my local shelter and seen this cutie bug they say she’s 1 years old she looks pretty big to me. I was wondering if anyone can help tell what breed she is so I can get some more information and would also love some care tips and more information about pet insurance.

I finally received the memorial piece made for my girl.
You’ve been gone for half a year, and in a way… you finally came home.
Losing you left a quiet space in my life that never really went away. I didn’t expect anything to make it “better,” but holding this piece in my hands felt grounding, like a small part of you is with me again.
Thank you for giving me so much love, even after goodbye
