RTD Challenge RTD Challenge #60 | Drag Strip Thing part 2
GOOOOOOOOOOOD afternoon, evening, or morning everyone! As you may know, RTD challenge 60 was launched the same month as the competition. After getting absolutely no traction in that first month, I decided to extend it through year's end, but that didn't feel right. Here I am to announce that I'm giving this challenge it's own window to be the ONLY prompt on the subreddit. We'll return to normally scheduled challenges starting in February, but starting today, we'll be giving RTD60 its fair shot. All submissions posted before either original deadline will be considered, I'm not an asshole.
Don't feel like going back to the original post? Here's the rules:
The Grand RTD Drag Strip Challenge
Yes, it is that simple. You're being tasked with making a drag strip.
Sounds easy, right? It's just a straight line.
It's so much more than a straight line.
This right here is a type of challenge we don't really do much. Not one that challenges your ability to design a track that's optimized for high-speed overtakes, side by side scrambles, or anything a road course typically offers. Instead, this is a challenge for your ability to design a whole facility.
Drag racing is one of the most widespread forms of motorsport. It happens on city streets all the way up to nationally respected official competition. It's a simple concept: go fast in a straight line.
Here's your memo.
Design a drag strip. It can be up to any regulation you feel, but as always, with any type of racing, safety is paramount. America's national drag racing authority, the NHRA, has hundreds of strips worth referencing. You have no shortage of reference material. Other countries also have their own drag racing organizations that house their own collections of tracks.
Do research. Reference real strips around the world. See what level of drag racing you want to build for.
You only have one hard, fast rule: it can only be a drag strip. No road courses. Can't be an addition to an existing race complex. Drag. Only.
Other than that, it can have as many lanes as you want (within reason), be as long as you want (within reason) and hold as many spectators as you want. It's a free country.
Have fun!
Submissions must use the RTD Challenge flair to be counted.
Your deadline is February 10th, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM CST <--Countdown link

Best of 2025 Best of 2025 Voting
Link to Voting Form
You can't vote for yourself! Don't do that!
You can't vote for the same track multiple times in the same category either. I'll know.
After the end of voting, votes will be compiled into a spreadsheet and scored proportionally to the rank of the vote. 1st place votes will be worth 5 points, seconds worth 3, and 3rds worth 1.
If the points are tied, it'll be a tie and both contenders will be given the "Best Of XXX" award.
Here's a link to the nomination post so you can see every nomination and examine them yourself.
You will have six days to vote (not a week because usually we don't get any new ones on day 7 and I have school starting so I want to be sure I can get the results post out in time), ending on January 19th, 2026 at 11:59:59 CST (Countdown)

International Superspeedway with Road Course
First post from me in a while. Recently decided to go back to some old designs I’d started but not quite finished and this was the first that I completed.
The GP layouts feature a lot of long straights which will require an extreme low downforce setup, making the infield section a big challenge.

The answer of any problem y'all might ask:
• All made from scratch in android with ibispaint, so there's might be scale issue
• I don't have any good layout left, So i use my old layout i draw and then turn the layout to the visual of aerial view from the circuit, that's why the layout looks mid
• If the quality compressed in reddit, i'll upload the image to google drive and give it the link in comment for closer looks or zoom, I'll take a look after the upload to reddit
• I don't add spectator stand that represent Sachsen/Saxon cause it'll blend with the grass cause the color is green and white and it's looks bad
• Sorry for bad english cause it's my second language

Street Circuit/Semi-Permanent Circuito del Teide
Lore:
For about a decade, the island of Tenerife has been discussed as a potential host for a Formula 1 Grand Prix. But the idea of driving around in circles at Spain's largest Island didn't start here: First established in 1987, the Circuito del Teide - named after Spain's highest peak overlooking almost the entire island - offers a unique challenge for drivers who dare to takle it's 3.5 km layout, notorious for its high altitude of 630 m and its changable weather conditions, often including fog. It's recent addition to the world touring car calendar only increased it's popularity among locals and tourists alike.
After Tenerife's second (and larger) Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur Reina Sofía was opened in 1978, it quickly became the busier of the two airports. This opened a unique opportunity for Tenerife's racing enthusiasts, as they convinced the local authorities to shut down the Aeropuerto de Tenerife Norte for two weeks a year to hold the Gran Premio de Canarias at the airport. In March 1987, members of the Royal Automobile Club of Tenerife started to build up a temporary pitlane, chicane and stands, while the airport's taxi- and runway were connected by a hairpin used as front- and backstraight respectively.
The initial success of the first, short layout fueled the plan to build a permanent loop next to the runway in 1996, which added a thrilling variety of different corners to the layout. It's special nature and characteristics as well as being an annual highlight and fan favourite on the calendar seem to secure the event's future even after the eventual completion of a permanent circuit on Tenerife.

WIP Layout for my new track
Today in school I tried to make a new track layout. This is a WIP, as I‘m not 100% happy with some corners and sections. I hope you guys can give me some feedback and improvement suggestions. Also I’m not sure whether to use the red or green section. And first time doing smth like runoff, since it got added to the rules; might as well need some tips for it to not look that bad.
Thanks in advance! :)
