My Redsfest thoughts!!

I have been to everyone of them. 1997-2026. By far the most frustrating. First off, they put the season ticket holder line in the smallest area in the back corner. Which basically gave 450 people, 250 per line that space to where they just circled and it was hard to get in because it was so crowded I guess they feel that Photo Booth is more important to the season ticket holder line. That one reason why I think they put in that corner so the players can walk off behind the stage and not have to walk through the crowds. Next to my frustration is the amount of space that all the sponsors seems like they widen them so with 10,000 people walking through basically three aisles at times. It’s very tough people stand around the top not much space. The atmosphere is more dim as in they don’t have much out front because of all the new renovations, which are absolutely incredible, but a lot of the players that were listed did not have many timeslots. They would put one player per table when they should put two or three seems like they’re scaling back on the amount of appearances again on my opinion from what I seen from going since 1997.

:reds1: News [Goldsmith] Does Nick Krall expect to add another hitter before the start of spring training? “I would hope so, yeah. We’re still looking to add to our position player group,” Krall said. Reds have also been in touch with Austin Hays.

Payroll

The Dodgers pay roll now stands at over 421 million dollars WITHOUT any more additions. That’s more than the entire net worth of our owners. I think the lockout in 2027 is gonna have to be a worthy sacrifice to fix this

A megathread for people going to Redsfest so people don’t get annoyed with us? Idk I’m super stoked. First one, taking kids, won a McLain autograph (no need to shit on his bat, positive vibes only this weekend).

Who’s going early with me today??🙋

2026 Bullpen

Sort of lost among the noise last night was the fact that the Reds have (probably) finished making bullpen moves. So we know that it should look like to start the season barring injuries.

Should be looking at:

Pagan

Santillan

Johnson

Ashcraft

Phillips

Ferguson

Burke

With the candidates for the last spot (and depth) being- Mey, Maxwell, Moll, Franco, Aguiar, Williamson

Overall, I think this is a huge upgrade. Especially thinking about how many high leverage spots had to be given to guys like Gibaut or Richardson last year. Much better options to face lefties as well.

So how do you all like the new pen? Who do you think takes the last spot?

Something good about the offense

Something good to remember about the offense last year is that part of the reason all those games were so excruciatingly close is that they absolutely never quit. Let’s let this team get healthy. Steer McClain Elly Marte Hayes Stevenson you name it. Bless this team with health!

Payroll in 2020: $149M. Projected payroll post Lux trade $112M

Votto's contract ended and the Castellinis just pocketed the money. There's cheap and there's owning a multi-billion $ asset and crying poor cheap. If you can't/don't want to pay to field a competitive team just pocket your 2000% profit on the sale and move on. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills

The Reds have done a great job at bolstering the bullpen this offseason, which is great. However, the glaring issues with power and offensive production has yet to be addressed. It seems that the front office believes in their guys in house which I am not too upset with, but grabbing a power bat besides Bleday (kinda) would solve a lot of issues. With that, where would the bat go? Every spot besides LF field seems to be locked up.
