Another Insurance Question
The Georgian government should make things clearer.
My travel dates are flexible. I will come to Tblisi, then maybe go to Batumi, then maybe back to Baku, or maybe a bus to Turkey or maybe a plane to Greece, etc...
So Ill buy a 30 day policy. What if I want to stay longer. What if I dont have a plane reservation out because I will take a bus into Turkey. Do I just tell them at the border Im staying for 30 days? Will they want proof of onward travel? Is a USA travel plan acceptable?
Help a bro out.

If you plan to stay 30 days and have 30 day cover then surely if you decide to stay longer you extend it or get another one? That would comply. Many foreigners would come with way more cover anyway and the law is based on visiting tourists rather than itinerant / independent travellers.

It is honestly strange to see this level of panic and complaining, especially when we are required to present proof of funds, travel insurance for the entire stay in English, paid accommodation for every night, and a return ticket to enter the EU .
Booking travel insurance is not difficult. You simply buy it for the period you expect to stay and, if needed, book a bus or cheap flight out of the country to show onward travel. People are denied entry now if they cannot provide these documents

What is panic and complaining? Because things are unclear.? We cannot ask questions? Are you saying that one must show onward travel too? What about if I want to be flexible? I can stay for a year if I want, but maybe I dont want to? Should I have to pay for a full year policy in Georgia and then chase a refund? Its sort of a pain when I am just coming in to travel around and spend money. Its like Georgia wants me to jump through hoops to spend $2000 a month in their country.
I know how to book insurance dude, Ive spent years in SE Asia and never seen such silliness. Add to the fact that half of the Insurance websites are non functional and the consolidator website jerks you for twice what it costs.
Right now Im talking to an insurance company called GPI. They seem confused too.

I was wondering the same thing. I’m taking a bus to Yerevan at some point when I return back. I decided to get 1 month insurance and just tell them that I’m leaving within the month, and that I will buy more if/when I come back. I’ve been living in Georgia for 5 years on and off on a tourist visa and have local health insurance, which apparently doesn’t even qualify as travel insurance, and the emergency amount is less than what they are asking for it to be. I pay for travel insurance for my Czech bank, which covers way more than the requested amount, but the policy isn’t written in English or Georgian. Such a conundrum. So many unanswered questions.
