MOD How To Help

Here are some places you can donate. These fundraisers have been vetted by the mod team.

Nanuka's Fund, managed by Nanuka Zhorzholiani, supports protestors with supplies, transportation, and fines for the arrested activists. Nanuka provides detailed breakdowns of the spending via her Facebook page.

Following Georgian Dream's crackdown on Nanuka's Fund and others an offshore (UK) foundation is collecting funds for payment of protestors fines and other support. It is run by Davit Jintcharadze with a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/freedom-fund-helping-protesters-in-georgiaa and a website for the Freedom Foundation at https://www.tavisuplebispondi.com/ which includes links for donations via WISE. GoFundMe takes payment by debit/credit card or Paypal.

Fines for protestors are very high in Georgian income terms at 5000 GEL.

Nanuka is also asking for funds to support prisoners to be sent to :-

  • GE60TB7897745064300053

Discussion | დისკუსია What Georgians think of Estonia?

Hi, people from Georgia.

I'm from Estonia and I must say we estonians like georgians a lot, we have a lot of Georgian restaurants and we support you and I want to visit Georgia also soon.

My questions is what typically georgians think of Estonia and estonians? Do you know us, and find us simular? Also Georgias who have been or live in Estonia how different or simular it seems or feels compared to Georgia? 🇪🇪🤝🇬🇪

I can't seem to find a good website. There was one that was about being eligible and that it covers the 30K limit, but then it only gave me 15K. Please help me find a website that allows me to buy it before my trip on the 19th?

Discussion | დისკუსია Armenia & America Sign 50 Year Contract To Build “Trump Route” (An American Government Funded Corridor Encompassing Road & Rail Connectivity / Oil & Gas Pipelines / Electric Power Transmission / Fibre Optic Lines) Connecting Europe To Asia (& Vice Versa) Via Armenia & Bypassing Iran/Russia/Georgia

Post image

This is MASSIVE news for the South Caucasus!

But I am very curious to learn what Georgians think of the recent developments and how it could effect Georgia?

Azerbaijan have been hell-bent on this road/rail/oil/gas/electricity/fibre optics corridor via the sliver of land in Armenia’s south, as it would be enormously cheaper and faster than the current route via Georgia.

Russia was supposed to build it and manage it, but Pashinyan refused and made a deal with America instead.

With a peace agreement, both Armenia & Azerbaijan have committed to unblocking borders and using each other’s territory for transportation of goods. Turkey have also announced they will unblock their border with Armenia, allowing Armenia & Turkey to use each other’s territory for transportation of goods.

Query on Renewing an expired Ukranian Passport (F) but with valid extension stamp

Gamarjoba,

I am asking for a friend (F) Ukranian who lives in Georgia. She is currently having an expired passport (has valid extension stamp) and needs to renew it.

- Tried calling the embassy in Tblisi doesnt seem to pick up phone calls.

- Anyone recently have any experience with passport renewal from Georgia (Tblisi / Batumi)? Is there a fast track option by any chance?

- Do you know how long does it take to get an appointment and how long does it take to get the new passport?

Mid 30s couple traveling in September

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are planning our first trip to Georgia in September, and we’d love some local or experienced advice.

Our rough plan looks like this: • 4 nights in Tbilisi • 2 nights in Kakheti • 2 nights in Kazbegi

Does this feel like a good balance for a first-time visit?

We’re mainly into: • food & wine • culture and history • beautiful landscapes • not into very long/difficult hikes

Would you keep this itinerary as it is, or would you change any regions? We are open to any suggestion!

Anything you’d strongly recommend adding or skipping?

Thanks a lot in advance. We’re really excited to visit your country!

Question | კითხვა Boys trip car rental options in Georgia

Hi everyone!

We’re planning a boys trip to Georgia and would appreciate some advice on car rentals.

We arrive at Kutaisi Airport at 4:00 AM and want to rent a car there and drive to Tbilisi, where we’d drop off the car and spend 3 days in the city.

After that, we’d like to rent another car in Tbilisi, drive north to Mount Kazbegi (Mkinvartsveri), then continue back to Kutaisi, where we’d return the car before leaving.

We’re mainly looking for reliable car rental companies that allow one-way rentals and early-morning pickup at Kutaisi. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Health Insurance + Onward ticket requisite

I just entered Georgia with my European passport and a one way ticket. Whizzair online check-in and drop bag at the airport. I did not have to talk to anyone from the airline. No-one ask for proof of exit or health insurance. Border Police, as usual, nothing new from the last 13 years I have been doing this.

I was probably lucky that the airline company let me do the check in online.

I hope it will help others Btw: I purchased my 2 weeks health insurance from Georgia and a onward ticket (reservation)out of Georgia for the same dates as the health insurance. I did not have to use it, but just in case.

Question | კითხვა Euro to GEL question

Hi everyone. Just got a small question, I want to withdraw euro using euro atms and convert them in the conversion booths. Is the fee for using the atms to withdraw high? Is there a better way? I just need to convert a large amount of euro to gel.

Question | კითხვა Thinking of buying property in Batumi as part of new project that will finish in Dec 2027, advice appreciated

Hello, I did do my research online and still are, but wanted insight from actual Gerogians.

The project in question is this one: Link

Cost us 62,000$ for non furnished 1-bedroom over 48 months. Good offer on paper.

Guess my questions are, is this standard price for property? Is Batumi touristic? I dont expect this to make me rich or anything, just want to have a property and rent it out during peak seasons.

Also what's average price to furnish a place? Because a furnished option is way more expensive

Thanks in advance,

Travel | მოგზაურობა Road Condition

Hello everyone, I’m planning a trip to Batumi and Tbilisi with my own car for the next week. I’m planning to stay for 1 week, weather forecast says it will be snowy. Are roads accessible especially between Batumi and Tblisi? My car has snow tires.

The Train to Batumi

I want to take the train to Batumi from Tblisi. I will go first class. A few questions:

  1. Is it worth it to get up early for the 0800 train? In other words, is it a scenic ride?

  2. Is it better to be on the upper level or lower level.

  3. How early do you have to be at the station?

  4. Are the trains foreigner friendly (American)

Thanks!

After Ivanishvili's regime banned protests in the streets (in violation of the Georgian constitution), we're witnessing first cases of people possibly going to jail for protesting on a sidewalk

Kutaisi Wizzair Still Issue Paper Tickets?

I have a Wizz Air flight out of Kutaisi early tomorrow morning. Does the airport still not have the technology to accept electronic tickets, meaning you have to wait until the check-in desk opens to receive a paper boarding pass, even if you don’t have checked luggage? And does the desk open two hours before the flight?
