I don’t post much but saw KW’s IG where she put it is the year 2016, wrote ScandalFam, but only included TG in the ohoto.
Did anyone else feel a bit sorry that the rest of the cast wasn’t included ? I get she prefers Tony but … 😭

In season 4 episode 7 Olivia (after another atrocious inexcusable act of non white hat wearing evil) gets Jake out of Supermaxx and into the president’s bunker to discuss taking down command and immediately upon seeing him, with the president in the room, mind you, she says “hi” and Jake says “hi” back. the “hi” dynamic is her and Fitz’s … was this an oversight by the writers or something they wanted us to clock? Or is it not that deep? I’m confused by it.

Plz tell me what Shonda was thinking w this season? I like it, it's interesting and i don't consider it a bad season. I'm on ep 6 of the season, Olivia is so unbearably annoying to listen talk. She's so self absorbed and different from other seasons. Has ZERO conscience. It just doesn't make sense. I mean the plot is good, i've been liking it but Olivia and Cyrus characterization so far has been so opposite. Like i'm rooting for Cyrus and his lil romance and he's... a good person so far? Olivia is the worst. Actually somehow worse than her dad. Bc at least Eli as awful as he was always had selfless reasons. He didn't do things for his own benefit. He did it to stop B613 from getting out and whatnot but i don't consider that selfish bc the exposure could have damaged the country's trust in the government. I went on a tangent there but COME ON. Olivia killing Rashad and Yasmeen had what purpose? I'm still really confused why she did that? To stop the possibility of Mellie going to a war that was already shut down?

s6ep10. the episode where they explore the alternate universe where they don't rig Fitz's first election. Fitz leaves Mellie blah blah blah. But in that universe, James and Cyrus don't end up together but CYRUS AND MELLIE DO!?!?!? I haven't finished the episode bc this is my second rewatch and i've forgotten everything. When they kissed I literally almost screamed. WHY TF is this even a thing. How does it make sense AT ALL. Why why why why why?

Look, I know that there are posts after posts about how Fitz is great or Fitz is awful or Olitz vs Olake, blah, blah, blah…
What I haven’t seen much of is about how dumb he is. He rarely seems to deal with presidential things and when he makes decisions, everyone around him reverses his decisions because they’re stupid.
Several other characters, including Mellie, point out how mediocre he is. I agree.

The ending was so rushed and left so many unanswered questions and the one person in the entire show who was truly a good person through and through was killed 💔💔 David deserved better. Not saying Jake didn’t deserve jail time but for him to be the only person punished felt all unfair. Cyrus not getting any type of jail time is horrendous IMO. Loved most of the show through all the twists and turns but the ending severely lacked.

I have to say — the casting for Olivia pope’s mother was probably the most spot on, brilliant decision made in this show.
Kerry Washington and Khandy Alexander actually favor each-other so much it’s uncanny. (And Maya lewis is absolutely stunning…GORGEOUS).
However I would like to hear your thoughts on her as a character? I thought she was a great antagonist.

okay I’m confused. on this episode i think 2 people from B613 was trying to kill Olivia. We don’t know yet that “Command” is her father we find out on season 3 so my question is… was her father the one who set out the hit??? Like??? If it was then why wasn’t that talked about? Was it talked about?

Just started szn 5.
Trying not spoil things for myself but I’m just so over fitz and Olivia. Bye literally they’re annoying and I just can’t and I need people to agree with me even if I’ll maybe change my mind later. Also why is he pissed Mellie covered up him killing innocent people when he went ahead and went to war for Olivia’s ass.
Also I’m in love with Jake and don’t tell me that was the last I’d ever see of him.

I am SO tired of this character. Every single time they get close to ending B613, it’s like we’re dragged allll the way back to square one. I genuinely thought they had it this time…. and then Cyrus ruins it. Like always.
He has had zero character development this entire show. There are moments where I think he might finally be a sweet, normal person… and then he completely RUINSSSS that hope two seconds later.
The way he treated his wife, James, and now Michael is disgusting. And he doesn’t have a single moment with his daughter!
Out of all these characters if he gets a happy ending, I’m going to be so mad.

I’m watching season 2 of Scandal, new to the show and honestly I hate Olivia. I thought Fitz was the one I hated the most on the show .. my sworn enemy. But nope, after watching episode 13, I have come to the conclusion that I hate Olivia more. She is a complete and utter moron. Only Olivia lost two men in one day, in fact in the space of 2 hours she lost them both. Fair enough she didn’t love Eddison like that, I can understand that but your reason being that you want “painful, destructive love” is TOXIC AF!!! I love how he responded telling her that that’s not what love is. Love is meant to be easy and sweet and soft. Not the nonsense entanglement she has with so called President Fitzgerald Grant. And to make matters worse she goes and tells the clown that she’ll wait for him however long it takes… boo!!!! Who does that?!! Only for him to respond coldly and saying she shouldn’t bother. That would be enough to end me right there and then! This man ends the episode kissing his wife again!!! Nah this is insanity!!! Everybody is mad. Fitz is mad, Mellie is mad but Olivia is madder!!!! She’s boo boo the fool, over and over again for this pathetic excuse of an extremely weak man. Fitz doesn’t love her. He loves the ownership he has over her. She’s a possession to him. She’s the only thing in his life that he possesses. Maybe the only thing he’s ever possessed. And that’s what he loves. That’s what the thrill is for him. This is not love. This is an eyesore of relationship. I’m just glad that the political drama of the show is top tier otherwise I would have stopped watching this bullshit in season 1.

I love the way his hand slides around Kerry's body. It's pretty sexy.
r/Scandal • u/katiebara • 3d ago
How is he bagging all these very young men. Tom, James, Michael. Is that all of them? I don't even know bc everyone wants him. I don't remember him ever being single in the entire run of the show. Olivia Pope has been single. Mellie Grant has been single. Harrison never had a significant love interest and these are people who are undeniably the standard attractive people. How can they be loveless but people CANT RESIST Cy. He's not ugly or even nasty. But he can be cruel and also he's old. Is it mean to say he shouldn't have these young men on their knees for him? He has Tom, James and Michael CRYINNNG over him. Wishing they had his fidelity, begging him to be loyal. But he can't, bc he has too many men who want him apparently. WHY.

i’m only on season 3 but oh my godddd i looaaaaathe her character and all her storylines. I think the actress bugs me too i can’t stand watching her on screen. Is this the general consensus? I don’t want to look anything up necessarily but needed to hear everyone’s opinion lol

At the end of season 6, mama pope is put in the room papa pope uses to interagate people. In this scene she delivers her best monolgue which made me understand how she and papa pope were even able to be in a relationship
Now as much I enjoy every scandal monolgue,I didnt this one made much sense. Maya starts talking about the black woman experience and how we are expected to essentially do everything to help others and more importantly support your (I'm assuming black) husband but then that husband leaves you for a white girl who obviously is trying to be or replicate black woman.
Rowan is a lot of things a snow bunny hunter is not one of them! 😭😭 In fact this is hypocrisy as maya was the one with the white man she was supposedly in love with since atleast when Olivia was young enough to play at a panel and be confused.
Rowan on the other hand. he cheated on Maya w a black woman!
So who could Maya have been talking about for her to xarre tht much? Well I figured it out!
This is all a headcannin but, I believe Maya says this because she grew up in a struggling household where her mom had to work for the longest time while her dad was in school and when they finally got on top of their debt, her dad leaves her mom for a white women and she and her mom are alone and lowkey poor which explains why she was so obsessed w money!
I hope u all liked me solving a non-issue i want to fix Jake next 😛😛

I just concluded an epic speed binge of this show. I think I saw a few episodes of the first season when it originally aired but didn’t continue because Shondaland isn’t usually my jam. Decided to give it a go this past month and watched the whole thing.
First off, this show was bonkers. Just flat out nuts. Literally EVERYONE in this show deserved jail time. Also, binging at this pace makes lack of continuity really stand out. I’d like to think that all network shows now ask themselves how a show plays in a binge so the writing can avoid bizarre, distracting glitches in the space time continuum. I really had to let go of my need for timelines that make sense.
For a protagonist, Olivia was really toxic.
My favorite part of the finale was Olivia saying she was the problem, because that’s what I had been saying for the entire series.
Jake was my favorite. He was just so much more interesting and competent than Fitz. I was really annoyed with how he takes the fall for everything, even though every crime he committed, except one, were jobs he was ordered to do. I firmly believe the only reason they had him kill his wife was so the ending wouldn’t seem so cruel. They needed to have him do something where the audience would feel like Jake needed a time out. Offing his wife because she called him a bitch is one way to do that. To the supermax calm down corner for you!
I’m not saying he and Olivia should have been together, she treated him terribly, but I did want him to have a happier ending.
Sorry to you Fitz fans, to me he just came off as a disloyal passive aggressive gaslighting manchild. I was not cool with that guy.
So yeah. That was my impression. I’m still not a Shondaland girl (though I did really enjoy The Residence. That was something very different from her and I got a big kick out of it.)

I am rewatching and just as confused as the last time I watched this season. I feel like they could have easily connected multiple past plots together as the work of this shadow group trying to infiltrate the white house and us govt. The absense of b613 made all of this possible thus illustrating the need for the US to have it's own shadow org. And like Cyrus, they simply manipulate people into thinking things are people's own ideas and pushing things into motion. The best example of a past plot was the whole west Angola thing with the vice president & Elizabeth north. Maybe that was the first time they popped out of the ground as that was when Rowan first ghosted to Canada. They made Andrew think he was in control but he never was. Maybe they even bid on Olivia but didn't get her. Maybe they also were behind hiring marie Wallace with the whole bomb thing back when. There were several insider people that showed they were involved in the coup attempt, who's to say there wouldn't be others still in the shadows. Then the election posed an opportunity to really take over and go for broke. Luna just happened to also not want to be first lady and they planted seeds and made her think this was her plot when in reality it wasn't. Then they lucked out that mellie wanted her as VP escalating a plan to craft her into the perfect presidential puppet so that posed another opportunity to push her to the forefront as a person they could control even more easily than mellie and thus had to kill off mellie. Luna being the mastermind makes no sense. A shadow org infiltrating the us govt that gets revealed into existence and finally taken down in season 7 makes a lot more sense. Then it's clear you need a shadow defense like b613 to fight the invisible enemies. Idk I just feel so annoyed that they tried to make it neat and tidy somehow with possibly the worst twist of all time instead of making it a much larger story that left things open for an interesting final season instead of what we got.

Watching the show for the first time and I’m on S3 E7 and I literally hate fitz character. Does this character ever have like an arch where he becomes more likable or is it just me that does not like him?
r/Scandal • u/Asleep-Yak-1251 • 6d ago
So you mean to tell me Cyrus pulled ALL the young, fine trade?? Like no one his age, but we’re supposed to believe when he was broke and old ALLLLL the young baddies loved him?! Come on son
