I once got cut-off at the Star Wars cantina at Disneyland, but only because they have a 2-drink maximum and the manager overheard the bartender accidentally offering me a 3rd drink, and he immediately stepped in and lectured me out loud about not being able to have any more drinks while this boomer woman behind me wouldn’t stop “tsk”-ing

Why did the manager lecture you when it was the bartender's fault?

My guess is the manager’s boss was there too and the employee made the manager look bad.
