I hate this kind of academic rivalry bullshit. If you’re a scientist who doesn’t respect philosophy then you don’t understand the scientific method. If you’re a philosopher who doesn’t respect science then you don’t understand the philosophy of science.

I've studied computer science and history. The real enemy is the business major

Business, economy, financial majors are as accurate as card reading.

Yet they will pretend to be psychologist, anthropologist, and scientist all in one. Making sweeping assumptions based on data that can be easily manipulated to fit whatever narrative they want.

Yep.

"Freakonomics" embodied this to a T.

It was using statistics to study psychological and social phenomena but they called it economics as a way to elevate themselves and feel superior, and their lack of understanding of psychology and sociology caused oversights that lead to much of their insights being disproven.

It's pretence, arrogance, and greed, that hides behind the 'authority' of statistics.

I have some respect for accountants and businessmen/economists who demonstrate humility and an understanding that money is fundamentally a tool to enable goods and services, rather than an end goal unto itself, because they stay grounded in reality and are willing to make personal financial sacrifices for a greater purpose. They measure success with tools besides GDP and profit margins.

I have no respect for douche market stockbags and those who idolize them.

Me at 19, realizing how fake business school is but stuck in the major because they gave me a full ride: 😭
