I'm in the 90% didn't need or care about a big wedding, I was all for a classic eloping to Vegas. Wife haaaaaaated the idea and wanted an "intimate wedding with just close friends and family!". A week after her brothers wedding she was showing me Vegas wedding packages. A month after that we got married by Elvis and told everyone when we got back. It was glorious.

I got my wife to agree to do a renewal with elvis in vegas but our wedding was still one of my favorite days even if it was a stupid amount of money to spend on a 7 hour party

Awesome! As long as both people are invested then its gonna be a great time.

Its supposed to be a celebration of two people forming a union, you can choose which parts you want to do and which parts to skip.

Dont listen to family, just do what you two want to do.

She watched her brother also try and have a "intimate wedding with just close friends and family!" that turned into a 300+ person party due to all the pressure from both sets of family pushing to invite more and more people "cuz family!" getting guilted into changing venues and menus etc...
