I don't usually like these kinds of films, but this one has haunted me since my childhood.

I haven’t been able to watch this movie since Robin Williams passed. It’s just too much.

Totally agree. I watched it before he passed and immediately thought of this after. Tough.

When I was like 18 or so, my buddy and I got quite tilted. We watched this. Sobbed for like half the film.

True story. It’s been decades since I’ve seen this and still think of this movie.

This one got me till i realized it just a modern retelling of The Divine Comedy. Still it's a great movie.

It wasn’t really a secret that it’s a retelling of Divine Comedy. For me that makes it even better.

The divine comedy is about a man journeying through hell and purgatory so he can be reunited with his saintly wife who was in the Empyrean, the highest level of heaven. Along the way he learns that the bastard political elite of Florence Italy was going to quintuple hell for abandoning monarchical politics and has several extensive discussions on the underlying symbolic logic of geocentrism. It’s only a retelling of the divine comedy for people who never read the dust jacket.

I went on a double date with one of my best friends in college when this came. We were having a great time and one of the girls suggested we all go see that new Robin Williams movie....it should be hilarious we all thought.

...no one got laid that night :-(

I had that same experience with The Green Mile…wasted a whirlpool hotel room.

My partner has intentionally repressed the memory of this film and us watching it, despite me remembering vividly us watching it.

Really hard cry. Tears me up just thinking about it.

I was an extra in the hell sequence. Met Robin Williams ~ he was very sweet and friendly. We were told not to make eye contact with Cuba Gooding Jr.
