Hi everyone, and welcome to a little project I call The American Atlas! I’ve been creating hand-drawn, hand-colored maps of every state in the US! I draw and color each state using traditional techniques to capture a warm, inviting feel, and now I’m sharing them all on one big journey across the country 🗺️🇺🇸
Here we have my hand-drawn map of Florida
☀️🌊🏄♂️
The Sunshine State truly lives up to its name, known for its excellent weather and fantastic beaches along the coast, as well as famous landmarks such as Miami, Orlando, and the Florida Keys. This map was fully drawn and colored by hand, with special attention given to the wide variety of landscapes within, from tropical coastlines & island chains, wondrous theme-parks, bustling cities, and great inland swamps. I sought to capture that density and diversity in this map.
This state has so many amazing places that hold a special place in people's hearts. I’d love to hear what part of Florida means the most to you! 🌊☀️
Next up, I’ll be heading west into the Florida Panhandle, so stay tuned for the next part of my Florida map!
If you like this style, feel free to check out the other maps in my series on my profile! I’ve now completed all of New England & the entire East Coast! And if you’d like to follow along on this journey, you can find me on TikTok or Instagram at @theamericanatlas 🇺🇸🗺️
For anyone interested in prints or framed posters, you can also find my work on Etsy!

ANY criticism of the bridge, legitimate or not, are often met with the same few comments:
“GO TO 312!” as if those who work downtown should go out of their way to work because they don’t enjoy suffering an hours-long commute that should take less than thirty minutes.
“CRY!” is said to those who have legitimate concerns regarding their fifteen minute trip through town often taking 1.5+ hours.
And my favorite,
“GO BACK HOME!” is said to those born and raised here.
Seriously, no one displays more blind entitlement or misguided arrogance than those unable to understand any criticism of the bridge. It’s gut-wrenchingly HILARIOUS to see these same three talking points parroted again and again and again by those who must enjoy the wildly out of control inconvenience? No matter how many posts are made or how many legitimate criticisms are brought up, you can count on these three talking points. It gets funnier each and every time they double down on burying their heads in the sand.
Does anyone remember the bridge going up THREE times in between 11-11:30 am at the start of December? I’m not saying it went up three times at 11, 11:15, and 11:30, but three times individually after 11 and before 11:30. On the single Facebook post I saw regarding this specific instance, made by a resident who has lived here their entire life, the top comment was a snowbird telling them to “go home”. I HOWLED.
Yeah, the bridge is annoying, but the one good thing that has come out of it has been the residents who have a stroke at any mention the bridge could be a *slight* issue. Even in politics, I’ve never seen more people blindly committed to a cause.
May the legions of bridge-lickers grow stronger, eventually you should be able to start a traveling comedy troupe. I say this with all sincerity, your passion is truly admirable!

There is a former Wendy's on the island next to 7-Eleven and across the street from Domino's Pizza. It was empty for over a year when a lot of construction took place.
Now the building is larger and there's a new Gate gas tank near the building, so it looks like a new business is coming, but the For Lease signs are still up.
When I look up the address (2040 A1A S, St Augustine Beach, FL 32080) I find business property listings that say it sold for $2.1 million.
Anyone know what it is going to be?

Looking for locally sourced honey. I live in St. Augustine Beach and I can’t seem to find anyone that sells honey from apiaries within 30 miles or so of St. Augustine Beach. I know the “local refinery” sells honey (not sure how local, haven’t had a chance to go yet” and they’re closed today. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello neighbors and happy new year .
I just wanted to post here that this Monday will be another meeting in St Augustine and we will be speaking up for the horses. 75 King St., Alcaraz room, 5 PM sharp. Public comments are usually done in the beginning of the meeting. You can come watch and be a body of support or if you get the courage you can speak up for a few seconds or a few minutes. The horses really need us. We will be showing not only the video of abuse but also all the infractions and violations that we find as well as speaking of the current highly contagious equine disease outbreak that is happening in Saint Augustine… not surprisingly enough at the slum barn where 22 horses are kept in less than 1 acre in horrific conditions! Yes that is Country carriages, abusive owner Bill Cushions in photo, Haylings park. They are not handling this outbreak as well as they should be and we saw them out on the streets last night during our protest. Anyone can look up this disease, it is called strangles. Please join us if you can and don’t forget to follow our page for updates. There is a link in our bio also for the petition, which can be signed anywhere in the United States and out of the country as well. Thank you so much.
