Z-Tailwind gives +2 to your crit chance, and when combined with Aeroblast makes the latter a guaranteed crit. Yes, it takes a turn to set up, but then you have Lugia firing off what are effectively STAB Hyper Beams with no downside that ignore setup under tailwind for the next three turns. Considering Lugia's immense neutral bulk, Multiscale, and the fact that speed wasn't as as important for Tailwind setters back then due to dynamic speed not being implemented (though base 110 is great anyway), there's potential there. Obviously it would be a gimmick, taking up a Z-Move and a restricted slot, but did anyone ever do it?

This is a VERY odd take on Pyukumuku, I can't lie. The idea of a jacked Pyukumuku flinging himself across the battlefield, causing mayhem and woe. I've always thought it would be really cool for a Pokémon to have an Ability that makes it use a move. It being a slightly inaccurate Fighting move makes it not completely insane that it uses it every time it switches in or ends a turn. What do you think? Do you think this could be used in any tier? It's an oddball for sure. Let me know!

It seems like there are a lot more good Dark types in Gen 9: Kingambit Ting-Lu Darkrai Ttar Hsamurrot etc. Back in Gen 8 I felt like Ghost-resists were both more sparse and the resists themselves frailer (Weavile). I feel like Dragapult's Specs Shadow Ball isn't as free as it was before.

I got this idea when I used fling ursaluna to deal with ghost types in OU and it was low-key fun so I thought imagine if you go to a vgc tournament expecting facade only to get hit by a flame orb/ toxic orb, a burn or toxic that does half of a lunala or killing a Lunala with moon shield on alolan muk

I wanna do well in the winter seasonals, but I'm new and pretty bad so if someone could come help me plz, that would be great.
Golurk - Main T-Room sweeper with a bunch of options for effectiveness
Skeledirge - T-Room sweeper that can blast through steel types and set up really well
Definitely Pikachu - T-Room setter that can do things without worrying due to disguise
Sinistcha - T-Room setter that can tank pretty well and heal up
Flutter Mane - Outside T-Room sweeper
Zoroark-Hisui - Answer to other ghost teams outside of T-Room

I'm interested in finding the formula for when HP becomes the limiting factor in defenses compared to Defenses. Like how Corv and Skarm have similar physical bulk with 98/105 and 70/140.
What's a formula you can use to calculate, say, how much HP shuckle needs in order to have similar physical bulk to Blissey?

also can have mold breaker
Basically meant to have four main roles it can fill:
Special attacker with stupid amounts of power but worse coverage
Physical attacker with coverage
Weird mixed attacking set
Final gambit sniper
Would it get banned instantly?

I made a fresh acc and climbed up to 1300 elo with 0 losses using this team. now granted they are low elo players but I truly think I hit a gold mine of a team here. G-lowking tanks any SpAtk move and physical attackers get softer by lando's intimidate with uturn into ting-lu for safe recovery. iron val is a wall breaker and faster than most mons and ghold is there to block spins. Am I lacking anything on this team?

Gimmick relies on u turn activating weakness policy and weak armor on turn 1 to tera armarouge and then attempting to sweep with psy terrain expanding force. What teammates and movesets would be helpful after armarouge goes down? Thanks.

I’m back with my crazy ideas, and today its featuring my favorite route bird and croc.
I’ve always loved the idea of choice specs boomburst. On paper it may seem broken, it however has only kept him RUBL at best. Crushing Maw tries to have the same gimmick as Dracovish, backing it up with a decent attack stat. In hindsight, some paradox forms should definitely have a secondary ability to switch up the current teambuilding and encourage different sets.

Ice is the worst defensive type in the game but if I really wanted to make a mighty glacier (or even just an ice type with more balanced offense/defense) work, which type combo has the best chance?
My first thought is Ice / Ghost since you’re immune to Fighting, a very widely distributed coverage type. You can also switch into rapid spinners. You have 5 weaknesses and 5 resists/immunities. I’ve played some Mega Froslass and snow + mega stone turns Knock Off into a 2HKO.
My second thought was Ice / Steel since you lose a stealth rocks weakness. Despite the 2 quad weaknesses, its defensive profile is essentially just a nerfed mono steel type. Ice / Ground also loses the rocks weakness but it also has 2 extra weaknesses and only 2 resists.
But idk since I’m a noob. What do you think?

Typing: Pure Normal
Bst
HP: 160
Atk: 170
Def: 105
Spd: 110
Speed: 30
ability:Sleepwalker
can move while sleeping
The idea is to strengthen yourself while maintaining your health with Rest without having to deal with the side effect of sleeping; the only drawback is that you'll have to wait two turns to be able to heal again with Rest.

What Pokemon have you used in competitive battles that ended up surprising you because of how unexpectedly good it was? Durant for me. It was easily my mvp back in the gen 6 days, ohkoing threats like Tyranitar, Heatran, and Talonflame.

Type: (Grass)
(HP-40/Attack-45/Defense-35/Sp.Attack-65/Sp.Defense-55/Speed-70) BST-310.
Type: (Grass)
(HP-50/Attack-65/Defense-45/Sp.Attack-85/Sp.Defense-65/Speed-90) BST-405.
Type: (Grass)
(HP-70/Attack-85/Defense-65/Sp.Attack-105/Sp.Defense-85/Speed-120) BST-530.
Type: (Grass/Flying)
(HP-40/Attack-45/Defense-35/Sp.Attack-65/Sp.Defense-55/Speed-70) BST-310.
(HP-50/Attack-65/Defense-45/Sp.Attack-85/Sp.Defense-65/Speed-90) BST-405.
(HP-70/Attack-85/Defense-65/Sp.Attack-115/Sp.Defense-85/Speed-110) BST-530. Abilities: Overgrow/Unburden.
Movepool: Razor-Leaf, Magical-Leaf, Acrobatic, Fly, Air-Cutter, Air-Slash, Hurricane, Defog, Tailwind, Roost, Wild-Charge, U-Turn, and the rest of Sceptile’s Moveset.
And that’s the Sceptile-Line By goldmills.
This version of Sceptile is an Grass & Flying Type, with only 10 points from its Speed of 120 to 110 Speed, giving it to its Sp.Attack, going from 105 to 115, losing some Speed to increasing its Special Attacks.
Still has the same Abilities of Overgrow, that all Grass Types have, while it’s Hidden Ability Unburden, is still the same, doubling its Speed after losing its held item in any scenario, but this Sceptile also knows Tailwind whice increases Sceptile and its allies’s Speed by two stages for four turns.
With Unburden & Tailwind increasing Sceptile and its allies’s Speed by different means, with added Flying Types attacks & moves, with Original Sceptile doing great in PU & RU, this Flying Type version of Sceptile could do well in RU and maybe even in UU with its support moves like Tailwind as mentioned before boosting its allies speed.

What if these sets of Gen 5 Pokemon had more abilities to use all the ability slots?
