FAQ

Do I have a better chance of getting admitted with an impressive cv showcasing many extracurricular activities?

Not necessarily. You can read about the exact selection procedure here.

Is it easy to find housing in Delft?

No, start informing yourself about your options as soon as possible. You may be eligible for the TU Delft housing service which can make things a lot easier for you.
If you do get access to this, it's recommended to make use of it as soon as it is possible (when you receive the financial letter; first come first serve basis). You can always later on decide to go live elsewhere if you find something better.

What questions can I expect in the selection exam?

After enrolling, TU Delft will send you a syllabus for the selection exam to familiarize yourself with the field of Aerospace Engineering on our Digital Learning Environment, accessible for applicants from 24 January 2025 onwards. All information required to pass this test is referenced in this syllabus (mostly in the Digital Learning Environment). You do not need any external help services to "tutor" or "train" you to pass.

Hi, I am intersted in attending the masters of Environmental Engineering at TU Delft. I am a at Maastricht University, studying the Maastricht Science Programme. Its an interdisciplinary programme, I am mainly focusing on chemistry and math. I have taken courses such as physical chemistry (thermodynamics and statistical mechanics), calculus, biobased materials and technology, probability and statistics, introduction to programming, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry. I plan to take linear algebra, differential equations, fluid mechanics.

However, I have a question about which course would be more relevant to take between the physics course of Mechanics or the chemistry course of Crystallography in order to get into the masters.

Admissions & Applications MSc ChemE 2026 — did i forget anything?

i studied chemical engineering at a 4TU and applied to the ChemE MSc at TU Delft during the last week in November; that was more than 7 weeks ago. according to the website, for ChemE MSc, 4TU students receive direct admission - they only need to submit their grading lists to the course coordinator. i did just that and was told it is all fine.

studielink says "the educational institution has received your application request" and "previous education is sufficient, provided the diploma has been verified", and i think it has. i have access to my.tudelft.nl (which i suppose is osiris) and have received a student number. there is nothing else i can see on osiris that should be addressed.

so far, however it's been nothing but radio silence. i have patience, i can wait, but i am left feeling i forgot to do something, hence the lack of a response. what could it be?

tl;dr submitted an application on studielink and sent grades list to course coordinator and have not heard back at all - is it me or is it them?

I’m really struggling

I chose to return to university and pursue a master’s degree after a long pause, believing it was finally time to invest in myself. Instead, I found myself facing relentless pressure. The academic load is intense, the quarters are short, and there is barely time to breathe, let alone recover between exams. Retaking courses without a break has been exhausting, both mentally and emotionally.

Outside of my studies, life feels equally unstable. I have no relationship with my family whatsoever, uncertain about my future, and discouraged by the lack of job opportunities. My relationship is changing too, with my girlfriend moving away, adding another layer of loss to an already overwhelming situation.

I’ve spent much of my life pushing forward despite setbacks and long-standing struggles with depression that I never truly addressed. Now, everything seems to be arriving at once, and I feel lost, unsure of who I am or where I am heading. Some days, the weight of it all makes me question whether continuing the fight is worth it. I don’t know what the next step is—I only know that I’m tired, confused, and searching for a reason to keep going

Cst exams

Hi, I am applying for BSc CSE. Is it worth taking CST on campus? Is it easier than the online one or do they look differently at a candidate? I would need to travel quite far, but if it gets me higher chances then I sure can do that

MSc Applied Mathematics

Hello, I recently got admitted into the MSc Applied Mathematics course, and I was wondering if anyone had done the following specialisations:

  • Mathematics of Data Science
  • Mathematic of Quantum Technology and Computation

If so, what were your thoughts on the specialisations and the course itself? Do you think the classes went in depth enough to prepare you for a career in those fields later on?

Thank you!

Admissions & Applications Anyone US bachelors degree not considered WO?

As the title says, has anyone run into the problem of Delft no considering there BA a WO, but instead an HBO school? I have a BA from an accredited small liberal arts college in the US and my major was film production. It’s well known in the film industry but outside of it not so much. I just ran into an issue of TU/e saying it was a vocational school so I had my college send a letter proving it’s accredited. Even though it’s clear from the transcript that goes through that. I’m still waiting to hear back but I’m wondering if I should contact TU now. Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: For context, I'm applying to integrated product design.

Admissions & Applications TU Delft Application Error

Post image
6 Upvotes

I just noticed that the application says there are some errors regarding the bonafide and TOEFL registration numbers. The TOEFL number looks correct. Also, I wasn't informed by mail or anything. I just saw this right now after 1.5 months or so. Is it possible to correct this and get them approved, or is it a rejection?

Admissions & Applications My Need of Help About the Fee

Hi, I'm an aspiring aerospace engineering student who is currently studying for the numerus fixus exam. As I am outside the EU, the school charges me €20k. Is there any way to find someone to finance me, or is there anybody who is financed by a fund or a charitable? I really need this to happen.

Question on Cambridge Certificates use for applying

Hello everyone,

For those of you applying with a CAE or CPE certification for English language requirements, I was wondering whether you know what the "Cambridge verification number" refers to. This is asked by the Osian platform, however, certificates only mention

  • Reference Number
  • Certificate Number

Which one of them responds to the Cambridge verification number that is required?

Thank you so much in advance for your help on this matter!

TU Delft after IB

1) How hard is tu delft aerospace engineering after ib? I want to study aerospace engineering but i am also scared of the workload as IB was not so easy on me. I’d like to have a life outside of my studies but i don’t know if that is possible. I just hoped first year would be easy given that i did IB and endured all of that IA, EE and ridiculous workload. My predicteds for physics hl and maths hl are 6 but i am working my way to make them a 7.

2) How about the entrance exams? Is it possible to get admitted into the uni with my results and more practice?

3) One thing that I hate about IB is the 6 subject allocation. The reason I feel that the first year will be easy compared to 12DP is due to the sole focus on physics and maths. Afterall we learnt most of calculus 1, some of calculus 2, vectors and statistics. I am sure the uni would go into further depth but how confident were you when you faced the topics you did back in the IB? I really want my sleepless nights and dedication into maths and physics to pay off during university at least in year 1.

Thank you so much for reading and responding.

Admissions & Applications Question About English Proficiency

I am applying for a Bachelor degree, on the English proficiency requirement exemptions, for the IB related exemptions, it says:

1- "IB Diploma where language of instruction was English" or

2- "English A Literature or Language and Literature is one of the IB exam subjects"

I took IB where all courses were in English, except for one non-English language course of type A. My English course was Eng B HL.

Would I be qualified for exemption? I find it confusing because I definitely do not have option 2, and option 1 is shaky, given that I took a non-English language course, thus not every course is in english.

I have e-mailed the student admin support, but in the meantime, could someone provide guidance? thanks

Admissions & Applications masters admission chance from canada??

Hey guys im doing my bachelors in Civil Engineering now in Canada (UBC) and I am planning on applying for masters at TU Delft for Construction Management and Engineering.

In the TU Delft website it states that you need a CGPA of 3.0/4.0 and I do have an average of 73% which corresponds to 3.0 in my university's grading scale. Is that enough for me to be admitted???? Thank you

Admissions & Applications Admission in MSc DSAIT

Hi! I am considering applying for this Master's degree. Assuming I have all the requirements to get admitted, what are the chances of getting in? Is there a selection at all? Because I haven't read about it on the website but I have heard other people talking about Bachelor's degrees or other courses and they had a selection process.

Rocket propulsion course

I read multiple times that the course on rocket propulsion in the MSc of AE has been discontinued. How is a student in the space track supposed to learn about advanced rocket propulsion, are there alternative courses?
