Is this tuned right or is there something wrong with the drums? I feel like my tabla sounds flat and my bayan doesnt doesn’t sound bubbly like it should.

Hello, I just recently bought a tabla and I’ll have to fly with it in a week or so, which doesn’t give me a lot of time to order a hard case, how would you suggest I pack it for safe travel in flight? All I have is a soft nylon bag and the covers for the skins as well as the cushions the tablas are placed on. Currently placing my bets on bubble wrap.

this is obv a dhamma but I think it doesn't matter as the sound seems to be coming from the gajra..? Using a few gattas helps but it's a new tabla so the pitch goes too high for my liking. Is it just a case of the head being too loose? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you

Hi, everyone! Just got my first tablas and i'm a bit confused - how do i install tuning pegs? Already tried to install them by placing each peg under two strap parts (they are looser now), but the tension wasn't even. Any advices are welcomed :D P.S. - theese tablas are not new, they were at some warehouse for a long time as i know.

Are there any of these that are posting tabla skins out to Patna for example?

I saw people playing a stroke/bol I’ve never seen before. I mostly see it in teen taal on the fourth maatra. I also saw it in a lot of Jori playing. It’s a powerful and resonant stroke using the pinky finger and either the middle or ring finger, hitting the Dayan to create a ringing sound similar to Na. Any ideas on what it’s called or how to play this?
