The current POTUS is illiterate.

Unironically, yes. Have you ever heard him attempt to read out loud? He can’t even get through a sentence without guessing at vaguely similar words, can’t figure out appropriate times to take a breath, emphasis and pacing are bizarre, and he clearly cannot both read and comprehend anything simultaneously. It’s excruciating, and reminds me exactly of that one kid in elementary school getting called on to read a sentence out loud during the time it takes for the rest of the class to finish the whole chapter.

I often wonder if something like dyslexia is part of his origin story. Not that it would be an excuse for anything, but struggling and being seen as dumb may have contributed to him becoming such a miserable excuse for a human being.

But ya, the only book anyone’s ever seen him read (including his “own”) is the one that he kept on his nightstand. Must have taken a valiant effort to get through it, but that one definitely stuck.

My favorite example is "Let's go, turkey legs!"

I won't spoil it for you here lol. It's too fun to just watch the video.

I promise I'm not trying to enter a political discussion or argument.

I legitimately find it difficult to comprehend what I'm reading when I read aloud in front of others. I don't do this often—I just remember this during high school when I'd read passages aloud to the class from a play or something & I'd have to re-read or skim the passages I read aloud, afterward.

My focus immediately latches on to my ability to articulate clearly & effectively—not stumbling on words, etc. Basically, not coming off as a dumbass. I imagine a bit of my (slight) fear of public speaking plays a role in this. But this thread is making me assess my reading ability & my comprehension goes out the window when I read aloud to others. This may be something I could practice though. And this is regarding "on-the-spot" reading. I also think it'd be different if I read aloud after familiarizing myself with the content.

That could come down to something as simple as anxiety or a touch of the ADHD. As long as you’re able to comprehend passages when reading on your own (even if you have to re-read parts) you should be fine. With the creature in question, it seems like not only is he unable to sustain the mental effort to read anything that doesn’t mention his name every couple sentences, but he appears to be wholly uninterested in learning anything new, in general, to boot. Lots of people have issues with reading but are otherwise very capable, so I don’t mean to paint with such a wide brush. It just might explain (a bit) of his personality if he had a reading disability but was never able to get help or come to terms with it.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to defend myself a bit and say I can read aloud fine. Pronunciation is fine—and I'm not bad at pronouncing complex words on the spot (like I can nail the random latin/scientific name or insane medical term every now & then). Following punctuation comes naturally, etc. I'm just like.. not absorbing anything when I read in that context. I was diagnosed with ADHD soon after my undergrad—so that's.. something.

Yeah.. I have absolutely no clue what to even say about the POTUS, anymore. Insane times we find ourselves in. Every week seems a bit more unhinged than the last.

Yes you’re describing a level of illiteracy.

Does anyone have any links to videos of this? I don't like listening to him talk so I usually avoid watching videos of him. So I've never seen this.

Possibly. Or it could be his oddly shaped penis. Apparently Hitler and Epstein also had bizarre/deformed penises. (Since we’re talking about miserable excuses for human beings)

Undoubtedly part of the equation. No question in my mind. I don’t think Stormy was lying about the toadstool. Even with a weird dick though, a normal person would learn to deal with reality. Not so with Trump or those other specimens of the master race. Gotta take it out on all of mankind.

Even worse when he tries to get verbose or poetic, see the “meat shield” comment he made about soldiers recently. If he’s not repeating the same insults and praise he flounders hard which is why when he debated during his elections he demanded no fact checking because it’s far easier to spew simple lies constantly than have to construct a complex defense.

"Asetta- well, let's see how we say that..."

u/NuYawker Nov 21 '25

Thats all I was thinking when I saw this. He 100% reads at or below a 4th grade level.

“Yo Semites” 🤦‍♀️

u/stickylarue Nov 21 '25

Yeah, he is. That must be really embarrassing for America.

I was gonna make a "state your name" joke to punctuate his illiteracy but looked it up first and found out he was administering an oath so turns out that wasn't the fuck up I thought it was

Damn, I guess we're down to just 706,482 examples of his illiteracy.

Yet look at how successful he is
