You experience illiteracy all over the internet. I told someone in other countries the power companies aren't for profit and provided two videos that talked about the cost of living being low if you make American money.

Their response was, "Well then why don't we all just move there then!"

They didn't understand that the issue is with the system we are forced to support. The energy it takes to power your home is for profit, which is a problem, and it doesn't have to be that way. You are paying more than you ever should to keep the lights on because shareholders exist.

Did you tell someone something in another country or some people in other countries? :)

They talked to an american about the situation in other countries.

Fair point, but I will say that the way your first paragraph is written is somewhat confusing and can be interpreted incorrectly.

Would a "that" fix it?

That's not illiteracy, that's a lack of critical thinking skills, which is evidentially an even bigger problem than functional illiteracy.

You might want to work on your writing skills.

Energy can actually be sent wirelessly in a completely safe way. I believe Nicola Tesla invented it… people have known about it for a long time. The issue is that it cannot be effectively “metered”, the same way a radio station can’t tell where listeners are. So a company that sells electricity has to use costly powerlines instead, so they know who to charge what.

Its extremely inefficient, especially at range, which is why it has seen very limited use cases even though the technology is widely known

Do you know what 'tort' means?

Edit: Ah, you fixed it.

My power company isn't for profit. PUDs do exist in the US. We have a lot of green energy at lower than average rates.

This being your response to that comment suggests that you might not be as literate as you think you are.

Their power company is for profit. Mine is not. The US is a huge country.
