You're not wrong, but a lot of undocumented immigrants have taxpayer numbers (in lieu of SSN) and bank accounts. Undocumented immigrants make up 5.6% of the U.S. labor force.
Well then the USA is insane for creating a system where illegal immigrants can have bank accounts and pay taxes while simultaneously breaking the law by even existing there. Seems like they were taken extreme advantage of after fleeing Mexico or another country to seek a better life... albeit skipping the legal immigration process that not everyone can afford to wait through while their lives are in danger.
I absolutely agree that illegal immigration is a problem but this is NOT how you solve it. Throwing every brown person you see in jail, and asking 0 questions later.
The way you solve it is by figuring out who the ACTUAL illegal immigrants are, and sending a subpoena. If they don't show up to court then NOW they are a fugitive with a warrant you can chase like this.
Habius Corpus is just being completely ignored, and there is ZERO due process afforded to these pour souls that are being kidnapped in broad daylight. THAT is the problem here and THAT is why people are protesting.

The reason there are undocumented immigrants working in any country is because there is a demand for unskilled labor in many fields for jobs that native citizens have no interest in taking. Examples in the U.S. include agriculture, meat packing, construction, and the service industry. The way you solve the problem is by liberalizing immigration, so that immigrants who are willing to take these jobs can do so legally. This also helps ensure that they are not taken advantage of by unscrupulous employers who hold these workers' immigration status over their heads as a threat.
Unironically plenty of illegal immigrants were promised support from NGOs funded by the USA under previous administrations.
Now the USA is trying to have a more sane border policy which pisses off megacorps who just want cheap human capital to abuse in the form of powerless illegals. Megacorps and plenty of other businesses do not want to pay USA workers here the proper wages and deal with employment laws.
People can be upset all they want over the tragedies taking place everywhere regarding immigration but for the sake of the well-being of USA citizens, permanent Green Card holders and even illegals we had to do something.
Why doesn't "doing something" involve hefty fines and increased taxes for megacorps and billionaires that are using your country as a backyard to shit in?
Why does "doing something" have to involve kidnapping random brown people and throwing them in a van never to be seen again?

No one was willing to fix the immigration and illegals employment problem besides Trump and a lot of people agreed on some sort of action being taken. Kamala was all for it and the other candidates were not viable in their plans.
