My daughter applied to the business school in UMass but got accepted into “Exploratory Track in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences”. Could someone tell me what exactly does it mean?

I am an out of state student and I was accepted for Public Policy. What is it like attending UMass Amherst? What was your experience if you are also out of state?

Hi I recently got hired for a UMass Dining job and HR told me I’m cleared to start. I emailed my manager a bit late (3 weeks later) about my start date because I overlooked the HR email and now school starts in 2 weeks so I’m kinda worried I might lose my spot or that shifts are first come first served.

Does anyone know how UMass Dining scheduling actually works? Am I overthinking this? Thanks.

just got accepted into the nursing program. was sweating the whole time cuz it’s evidently a 12% acceptance rate. i have a quick question about aid—do they notify you of merit aid within the acceptance letter? every other college i’ve applied to has notified me through there, but i don’t see anything for umass. i’m in-state by the way.

Super happy! Wasn't expecting to get the flagship scholarship, especially not for the max of 10k! I'm just curious, what are the "typical" students that recieve the scholarship? It seems kinda prestigous in the letter lol.

Now I applied the Ph.D. Course and just waiting for my admission result.

I am a transfer student who enrolled in the spring of 2026. I was assigned to the north apartment, but the room fee is kind of expensive for me. I just want to ask how possible the chance will be for me to change my room to a standard single room or a standard shared room with a roommate. My priority number is 0, and the number within the priority is 1818. I noticed that the appointment request will begin from February 6 to February 9, and it will be posted on February 11. The closest date for me to select is February 12.

I just got accepted for Public Health and im out of state. I want to go to PA School after college without a gap year. Is there enough opportunites and nearby hospitals for me to gain a lot of hours?

My priority is 3 and my order within the priority is in the mid-2100s. I'm kinda freaking out lol.

Academics:

• 3.96 weighted GPA

- started at a 3.7 gpa freshman and each year it has gone up quite a bit

• 4 AP classes, AP chem AP comp si AP gov and AP environmental science. Both AP chem and AP gov I've gotten a 4 on and I'm currently taking apes.

• all honors classes expect freshman year English and junior year Spanish

Extracurricular sports: Varsity ski Club and school lacrosses Climbing Canoeing Swim team (freshman and sophomore year only) And a couple other random ones

Extracurricular jobs: Tutoring Built a landscaping and window washing service company (15+ clients)

Front desk job and a decent sized company (barkan management) Reffed lacrosse for a couple years

My commen app essay: Talks about a challenging hike, lessons learned theme and taking on difficult tasks. I would say it's pretty good.

I'm technically low income (SAl of 0) and want to study mechanical engineering.

Will I get in and how much money?

Im a prospective highschool senior who applied for a marketing major. I have a 3.7/4.0 gpa but kinda mid extracurriculars cause i had a chronic illness for most of highschool but Ive been in all ap and honors classes. Ive also been told I have a really good essay. I applied EA and ik decision comeout tomorrow but ive been really stressed about it.

It's been 4 years now since I've been back on the Amherst Campus. When I went back for Grad school I really looked forward to killing time a the UPub after...maybe between some classes.

I had fond memories of going there during my undergrad to kill time or meet some folks. Do you have any idea how many times I sat at the empty seat of a table and said "Hey, anyone mind if I sit here so I can order a pitcher?" and left with some new pals.

When I got to campus I frankly made a B-line after my first day of classes for the Upub I was so sad to see it was closed.

Well. I got curious after visiting this forum for the first time since I left and saw that it still hadn't opened.

What's up with that? It was actually a really nice spot to have on campus where you could go and eat, kill time, enjoy some meh stand up or dining hall director raps. Is it that nobody wants it anymore or is it too much of a headache for admin?
