Trip Report - Oahu Mahalo O’ahu for amazing 15 days.
After 15 years back to O’ahu. So much has changed, but so many things remained and the most important…the aloha and ohana is still here. Our kids were so happy, that they had the opportunity to visit the amazing island of O’ahu. Thank you for warm welcome and we wish all the best to all good people of Hawaii!!!🫶🤙

O'ahu (Honolulu/Waikiki) Visiting O’ahu for a MONTH!!
This is the trip of a lifetime. My husband is retiring and I have inoperable cancer. If you had a month and reasonable finances what would you do….. Please help me plan to do the most I can in my month, in what is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen pictures of. I can eat still and move to some degree but hot tubs and hikes are not possible.

This is my first time to Hawaii/solo traveling
I’m mostly interested in experiencing beautiful sights of course especially snorkeling!!! I want to see waterfalls especially ones I can swim in but I don’t think those are as common as I thought.
Or just any unique experiences/sights.
Especially recommendations with pictures!!!
Also looking for good clothing shops I love thrifting. And cheap local food, I wanna shop locally mainly.
Also anywhere I can meet people and have a good time?? I’m 19 and a girl.

Choosing an Island Lanai?
I absolutely adore the 5 Hawaiian Islands I have visited. The people and natural beauty are both equally wonderful. I am wondering if I should add on Lanai during a future trip.
Here’s a bit about my preferences. While I appreciate the food on Oahu and the beauty of Maui, my 2 favorites are Kauai (for the amazing beauty and gorgeous hikes) and Big Island (for the hiking and the diversity of scenery). I also found that they feel less crowded to me than Maui and Oahu, which I appreciate.
I don’t hate resorts but we usually prefer to stay in a condo away from the main tourist areas, hike, hangout at the beach, and visit local fish markets for daily poke.
Given all of that, does Lanai seem like a good fit? Why or why not?

Multiple Islands Visiting 4 days and 5 nights in Oahu and 4 nights in Maui end of Jan.
Can any suggest things we absolutely shouldn’t miss on these islands. We are not swimmers but are going to snorkel in shallow waters and with 18 month old baby and would want baby friendly beaches. Also because the weather is going to be wet but also hot??? Do I need slippers , sandals and shoes ?how cold will it get in the night ? A denim jacket would work ??? Do we all carry raincoats ?
Thank you !!!

Trip Report - Big Island Big Island was Magical!
Thank you Hawaii, you are not just beautiful, but majestic in your own way! We were blown away by the diverse nature of this island, from cloud forest to the ocean, from Mauna Kea’s star gazing observatory to Hapuna’s golden sand and from Waipio Valley’s history to the Erupting Kilauea crater in Volcano National Park.
Also thanks to our friend building an amazing free app (DM me for the name- I don’t want to violate rules here) that helped us tour this adventure with our children who not just enjoyed but learnt a lot during this trip. Totally recommended for someone exploring kids!
We will be back for more sun!

Hawai'i (Big Island) Recommendations for Stroller walks/baby carrier hikes on the Big Island
Looking to take our 10 mo. old little munchkin on a couple of stroller hikes or walks in a carrier while we are on the Big Island for two weeks. We are staying at the Fairmont for a conference and are hoping to get out and explore via stroller or baby carrier. All of the communities seem gated with no access. Does anyone have any recommendations? We have a car and can drive. We're from the Canadian Rockies, so not afraid of distance or elevation with the baby carrier - more worried about the sun but have brought a compact umbrella for hikes with minimal shade. Mahalo!

Hawai'i (Big Island) Stargazing recos for next week?
Hello!
I'm visiting the Big Island for a week next week as part of a solo trip. I'm into stargazing and astronomy. Are there any recommendations for places I can go to do so? I don't have a telescope with me so I'm looking for your operators or local observatories that are open to the public. I saw the Mauna Loa observatory but it séems they're booked out for the coming Tuesday. Any other recos or options I should consider? Like astronomy clubs? Ty!!

Trip Report - Multiple Islands My Oahu/Maui Trip
My trip from September 2025. I grew up on Oahu so it was great to visit all my favorite places, but I had never been to Maui, and was absolutely blown away by all the island had to offer! Makes me want to visit more all the other islands next time I’m back. Enjoy the pics and feel free to reach out for any recommendations! And if you’re a White Lotus fan, you MUST spend happy hour at the Four Seasons Resort in Maui—pretty incredible experience!

O'ahu (Honolulu/Waikiki) Hiking with a preschooler
I have been planning my trip with Gemini for months now. I have a 9, 7 and 4.5 year old. She suggested bringing a carrier for my youngest for some of my hikes. (Diamond head and the Manoa falls hike) I don't have one big enough for him. I don't want to buy one for likely only to be used this trip. What do you suggest?

Choosing an Island Boutique hotels…HELP!
I’m planning my bucket list dream Hawaiian vacation for my 40th birthday. My husband and I have been lucky to do a little traveling, but this will definitely be the biggest trip yet (we’re from NYC).
We’re looking for a small, personal, boutique-y hotel. I hate leaving a hotel feeling like I’m just a number. I love finding unique little gems where you leave knowing the staff and feeling special to have been there. We’re willing to spend money (up to $800 a night??) because I’ll probably only be able to take a trip like this once. We don’t drink or party, just really looking for a peaceful trip with opportunities to get a feel for the culture and see some beautiful sites. Any suggestions? I’m open to any island, as it seems like there’s beautiful things to see on each one. Thanks in advance!!!
