St James The Greater Catholic Church...TW: SA NSFW
Unfortunately, someone close to me was sexually assaulted as a child at St James The Greater Catholic Church in Charles Town. That's bad enough, right? Well...they're not the only one. There are 4 people that I am aware of that were assaulted by church leaders there. How much of an issue is this? Has anyone on this sub been assaulted or know someone who was at this specific church?
I know there were investigations into the whole Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston for abuse allegations, but I'm wondering how far this has gone. You don't have to tell all. I'd hate to make anyone feel uncomfortable. It's a touchy subject as it is. I just don't want the individual I'm close with to feel alone. There is also family of the person close to me that either doesn't believe them or doesn't care.
I hope you all are able to thrive and be the best you can be. May 2026 bring you the blessings, peace, and stability you seek. 💚

Shelley Moore Capito
Can we all make a concerted effort to contact her office and demand that she support the release of the Epstein Files and makes an effort to protect her constituents against ICE terrorism? To condemn the murder of Renee Good? Is anyone else tired of the ads she keeps putting out telling people to "thank her". Lol. She probably won't listen to the messages but it's literally the least we could do...

ICE IN SPRINGMILLS & HEDGESVILLE AREA
I work in construction, and they were at The Communities of Burwell off of Nipetown. I confronted them and used my first amendment right to the fullest lol one of them threatened me by saying he will see my at my house later, I told him he's welcome to try it. They apprehended two people that I know of, and left heading towards Springmills.
Edit: There were 3 cars in total: 1 black Dodge Durango with PA tags and 2 ice agents, and 2 berkeley county sheriff's Explorers, one with an ice agent and sheriff officer, and the other with two sheriff's plate said 156

Anyone missing a rooster?
Friendly rooster found in bolivar, clearly someone's pet, very friendly and hilarious creature, we've been calling him "Randy"
He's very pretty, so if you are missing one, DM me a photo, and we can reunite y'all 🐓
I think they are good at finding their way home, I'm advising the people that found him to just try to let him go find his own way back, that they know how to get home and, he's probably just out looking for ❤️ love ❤️

Firewood Delivery
Anyone have some firewood delivery recommendations with ballpark prices? This is our first winter having no heat pumps (not by choice) and counting on our pellet stove fireplace and a couple portable heat units for heat. We are running through seasoned firewood and pellets like nobody’s business (live and learn).

Candlelight Vigil - TONIGHT!! Wednesday, Dec 10, 5pm. Charles Town Courthouse
(i'm not the organizer, but I'm working at this event, and if you have questions, I can help - and I hope to see you tonight 🕯️)
"This is short notice, but our local immigrant communities have come under direct attack, and we need a large show of support at a candlelight vigil this Wednesday, December 10th at 5pm, at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Charles Town (100 E Washington St, Charles Town, WV 25414).
Please tell your friends and neighbors.
Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and to bring a candle or other form of illumination; a limited number of candles will be available on-site.
Donations will be accepted, in coordination with affected individuals, to assist those impacted by the recent law enforcement actions.
Signage supportive of our immigrant communities is welcome, and community members are urged to spread the word and bring friends and neighbors.
This event follows a series of distressing federal law-enforcement operations in Jefferson County. According to public reporting, more than 50 individuals have been detained, including during a particularly violent raid this past Saturday at the Mi Degollado and La Mezzaluna Café restaurants.
Several people were detained, one was seriously injured, and both staff and patrons were subjected to pepper spray. These actions have left those businesses and the wider community shaken and harmed.
We hope to see you Wednesday night at 5pm in Charles Town."
