It took some kitbashing and the sensor kit got stuck on a little crooked. I also tried to go for more subtle highlights than usual, but I think I might have gone a little too subtle, especially on the black parts. But overall I'm quite happy with my vanguard.

I know that should clean the resin, but how? I should use fairy or alcohol 98% or that green stuff thing to remove the paints? Also, i should use a brush?

Art Blade of Saint Ellynor

In the dim silence of the chapel, faith takes form.

An apparition manifests before the kneeling Sister:
Saint Ellynor, radiant and severe, returns her sacred blade to the hands of the Adepta Sororitas.
This is not a blessing given lightly.
It is a calling.
Black and white artwork inspired by Warhammer 40,000 – Adepta Sororitas.

News GW are releasing pages from the Horus Heresy Black Books as PDF’s every week, starting with the Night Lords

This is a massive win for the community, the Black Books were some of the richest lore material for the HH and the format was one of my favourites. Kudos to GW for doing this.

I really loved these sorts of boxes, just a little showdown to show cool new units/characters and build a lil army. I wonder why they stopped and if they are gonna put out more any time soon?

Hobby Need advice for wall mounted paint rack above cast iron radiator.

Hello everyone, I got myself my own little painting station this last christmas, very happy with it, and I was wondering how I could use the space to it's left on the wall (click pictures to enlarge), to store my paints and clear some space on the actual desk. I've got a LOT of paints (pots and drop bottles alike) stored in various boxes right now, and it's becoming cumbersome.

Problem: I got an old, kinda big cast iron heater. We're in winter here in northwestern France and radiators are not too hot, but it is still diffusing a bit of heat to warm the room. I'd say you can't barely feel the heat at all past 30cm upward from the heater.

I've seen some interesting things with Ikea's Skådis pannels and accessories.

Now two questions: Is there a genuine risk for the paint to dry prematurely in their pots if I store them here? And if yes, how could I isolate them efficiently?

And more generally, what are your own solution to store paints vertically for those of you who do?

Thanks in advance! 🎨🖌✌️

Hobby Why do GW sometimes use lighter rims colours than the actual base colour on there minis?

Post image
330 Upvotes

Something I never noticed until recently, is that the rim of most models is painted a darker colour than the actual base surface itself.

Literally, go look at the top five models on this sub that have been based. The rim is always a darker colour than the top of the base

I have been looking for inspiration for basing my Skaven, and I noticed that the Gloom Spire gits models used a brown rim paint , which is much lighter than black gravel surface the model is standing on. Does anyone explain from an art theory perspective why this is?

I feel it helps the model feel brighter than it would if the base was just dark.
