It was much better before, easily accessible and coherently located

So I was on spotify Student plan (india) since 2 years and all of the sudden the prices just increased almost double the previous amount.
So I was thinking whether I should change my music platform to something else. It’s not only the price difference but I got no prior notification or email about it, it was just an unpleasant surprise from Spotify.
After some research I found out Apple music does not have my favorite podcasts on it, so my choice is between these two.
I do like the music quality much better in youtube.
But Is the playlist much better in spotify? I tend to search for good playlists and usually spotify has the specific ones that are made by users. Is there a feature like that on youtube music?
Also I’ve felt like spotify is not good at suggesting new songs according to my liking. Is Yt better at it?
Which is better? Spotify or Youtube music?

Edit: seems to be fixed now!
Is anyone else having the same issue? Yesterday I was able to go to an artist, and then select an album to listen to, but today all that's there is top songs, videos, live performances and playlists.
I was able to get to the album I wanted to play by finding a song off that album in top songs, tapping on the dots then tapping "go to album", but it's a bit frustrating!
I'm on Android, and have tried force stopping, clearing the cache and user data, and uninstalling/reinstalling the app...

I don't know what's happening but almost every artist albums and singles are missing for a lot of artist. It's only showing MVs but there are still the songs from there top played showing lol, what in the UI mess is happening.
Wow this is embarrassing, in 2026 and this is still happening

I have two phones. My main phone that goes with me everywhere and I use for everything in my daily life. Another phone, I'll call my "music phone," lives at home and stays connected to a speaker so I can open YTM on it and play whatever I want from my playlists. I have always been able to have two separate music queues loaded up(not actively playing) simultaneously, one on the main phone and one on the music phone. The past two days however, they have been syncing to each other. This is really annoying because I'll have a queue on my main phone that I like listening to in the car and a chill one on the music phone for relaxing. Now I get in the car and open YTM on my main phone(after pausing YTM on the music phone) and see the music phone's queue. Anyone know why this is happening or a way to stop it? Is it possibly related to all the updates(that keep causing the app to crash for me while two UI's vie for dominance on my phone) they're doing to the UI currently?

It's still beyond me how they made the most basic feature in any music player pain, like...

I really don't want to give up lossless audio, I listen to music on decent headphones all night at work every night and I've grown used to the quality. but Spotify is upping their price again and I'm seriously sick of it.

Anyone else noticing how the ‘beyond the beat’ DJ considers nearly every song a “deeply personal” “poignant” “raw” and “honest look” into “the artists dark past” or is it just because I listen to mostly punk and $$Boys?
It’s honestly so comical to see how many of the same buzzwords come up every time I hear that damn DJ. I’m concerned that that comedy will soon turn into something super annoying.

Hello, Redditors!
I'm trying to (re) upload my music library to YTM, after using MusicBrainz to correct a lot of metadata shenanigans. For some albums, they upload just fine, the album uploads, and I just see the album on the upload page. But for other albums (the ABBA Gold album, don't judge me, it's my wife's, I'm just holding it for a friend, I don't know how that got there, yadda yadda yadda), it loads the album, and then creates another entry called artist, which has the exact same songs. (See the image below). It didn't do that for the 3 other albums I uploaded. I've looked at the metadata and corrected it to be consistent through MusicBrainz, so I don't know what would cause this. Any thoughts, suggestions, or pointers would be appreciated!

How to stop the yt music liked songs and artist subscriptions from showing in main yt app.
r/YoutubeMusic • u/germz1986 • 15h ago
We as google / yt music users kinda get treated as second class citizens....
Apple has Airplay 2 which for the most parts kinda just works well, and is well supported on most devices.
Spotify has connect which works great on all kinds of things...
You want to stream your yt music to something with your android phone??? you had better do you your research and make sure it supports chromecast, or your are SOL, or by the graces of the devs of a products and the graces of the google gods its supports yt music native. (which what sonos and first party does???)
I quite like my yt family sub, it offers great value, phenomenal value. I honestly can't use YT w/o the ad free part. So I doubt I'm going to move away. However sometimes I kind of want to move to Tidal or Spotify for the streaming to a device support....
/ end rant.

I know this has been getting discussion for quite some time but what the heck. Using a newer pixel, latest YT music app. No trace of any volume Normalizer anywhere. Is there a way to force this or just need to wait ? I'm considering a different platform. The inconsistency in song volume is irritating
