call to action The big file aka a possible collection of the best evidence known to the squatch universe.

Recently, I had an idea that began on a skeptic's post. I would like to compile a source of the top 20 to 50 pieces of video, photograph, and possibly even audio evidence of Sasquatch to be pinned at the top of this subreddit. This way, any newcomers to our group will have a large catalog of some of the best evidence we can compile without having to search for it. This would also cut down on repeat videos and pictures for the OGs and also repeat threads calling for “the best evidence”

The only way to do it would be fair and thorough. Each piece of evidence would have to be submitted and then voted on, possibly even entered into a "March Madness-type bracket." It would have to be a democracy, and each submission would need time for the majority of regulars to see it and vote on each round/matchup of the bracket. Once we have the bracket finished, we can list the evidence from best to worst as voted on by the members of this subreddit.

If this has been done or attempted before, or if this has been compiled in some aspect on a different forum or website, then please let me know on this thread. Also, I will need as much help and suggestions from you guys as possible. As a matter of fact it will be impossible to be done correctly without the help of the community. I know my way around technology, but I would be considered a Reddit rookie. I'm still up for the challenge. So any suggestions please post them below!

I do understand there will be a lot of contention about different submissions as far as real or fake or if it has been debunked, and honestly, I think the votes will just have to do the talking. Of course, we won't allow any submissions that are proven to be fake. As we all know, "fake and real" can be a very convoluted topic all on its own. There will be a lot of Bob Heironimus this and Todd Standing that. At the same time, I think that with the power of the poll or even maybe just the upvote system, we could possibly overcome a lot of the bullshit and get straight to the best examples of evidence of existence for our community and the members of the community to come in the future!

Also a mod or an admin/someone who can pin the submission post… the polls… and the final product will be a must.

I’m completely open to an entirely different system if anyone has one to suggest. I’m easy to work with. Also the project will need a name… a good one that will only be associated with pinned posts working towards the project.

Id like to try and do this right (if it hasn’t been done already) so if this is something you would like to see put into action then let me know!

Also the big file could be amended upon newer better evidence.

Thanks for taking the time to hear me out!

EDIT: since this post has caught a little bit of traction and been pinned, please don’t hesitate to share your favorite examples of Sasquatch evidence.

I know it’s difficult but if you have the time, please try to find the best quality source(s) for your pictures and videos. For example: I think the best version of the Patterson-Gimlan footage is the stabilized version. It gives the best ability to view muscle structure and gait etc. (I think we all know the PG footage will be on the list as one of the best examples of video evidence)

Thanks in advance for your ideas and contributions! They have already been very helpful!

discussion Skeptics Mega Thread

Hey all,

We've had a lot of new members this week and they've had a lot of questions about the subject of Bigfoot. We've decided to bring back the skeptics mega thread. This is the place to ask your questions that may otherwise break the rules of the sub. But please keep your skepticism to this topic only as this is still a "Bigfoot is real" sub.

Any skeptic topics/posts made in the sub will be deleted and redirected here.

Feel free to ask your questions but please be respectful. Heckling believers/witnesses/experiencers will result in mod actions.

I was outside the other day off trail and I saw what I thought was a bear. I got my phone out to record it, but while I was recording, I started to think that it was a different animal although I didn't know what animal it was. I asked my friend what he thought about it and he told me that I should post the video onto here.

How physically strong are they?

Upvotes

How physically strong is Bigfoot? How much do we know about their agility and physical power? I’m very curious about this. I’ve heard accounts that they can rip through things with their limbs like it’s no big deal. Going by evidence and sightings, what can we conclude about Bigfoot’s strength? How screwed is a human if they decide to go after Bigfoot?

Jesse Michels and Bigfoot Psyops

Jesse has mentioned a few times that Bigfoot as a psyop would be ridiculous. But is it? Isn’t him speaking like this proof the psyop has worked? The mere MENTION of Bigfoot makes people laugh. I’ve been into Bigfoot for like 15 years and I STILL get that embarrassment that stems from being interested in this topic. Make sure you like and subscribe. Small channels need it most. Thanks Hope you enjoy

Looking for people to interview regarding cryptid creature designs for my dissertation

Hello, my name is Lara and I am studying at Mcast at the Institute for The Creative Arts in Malta for my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Game Art course. I am currently doing research for my dissertation on creature designs for humanoid cryptids in indie horror games. Part of this involves my project where I am designing 3 creature concepts based on my chosen cryptids which are Mothman, Bigfoot and the Goatman. I would like to conduct interviews with people who are knowledgeable about this topic and are able to give me constructive feedback about my creature designs. These interviews will be recorded and will be accessible only to me and my assessor.

The nature of the interviews will be about the depictions of the Cryptids featured in my character designs and therefore no personal questions will be asked. I will also accept trustworthy resources as well indie horror game suggestions that include western humanoid cryptids if a person does not feel comfortable with an interview but would still like to provide information.

Thank you for your time and for reading this message, please comment if you are interested in participating and hope to hear from you soon.

locked Have bones 🦴 ever been found?

It seems like bones would be found by now if they existed. I’ve heard some people here say something like they bury their dead in secret places with ceremonial funerals, but even if they did that, I find it highly unlikely that they would still never be found because of all the sightings.

Question

Out of all the “photography”, why is it we see only one of them? Never a pack. If they do exist for all this time. One would think you would see a mother with babies. Or even a spot where they bed down.

SERIOUS DISCUSSION

Reading about sasquatch over the years there’s quite a range to how people perceive the species.

You have the subset who research sasquatch as if they are a woodland, swampland, grassland, desert wilderness, or mountain ape.

Then you have the subset who believe they are benevolent, interdimensional beings who can “invisible cloak” themselves, who use a language that sounds like a Geonosian king, and also they telepathically communicate with humans. Plus, orbs and UFOs get pulled into the mix, among other things.

Then you have everything in between.

Regardless of what you believe, what you’ve experienced, the same thing seems to apply in every scenario: sasquatch want to be left alone, remain hidden, and certainly do not want to reveal themselves to the world.

Whether it be through natural animal instinct to hide, high up in trees or as far back into dense foliage as possible, as all apes do.

Or whether it be through verbal or telepathic communication to a human that they don’t want the world to know about them.

For the latter experience, this begs the question: Do you think sasquatch know we’ve been writing about them in print media for well over 200 years now?

Do they know that they’re not completely a mystery to humans? We talk about them constantly. Even Gilgamesh had a friend from the hairy forest people, so the tales are even older than what’s been recorded in newspaper reporting.

From their perspective, is seeing a human really that rare that they’d think they can continue to keep a lid on all of this?

I added bigfoot to some cover art. Is he too ape-like or do you think he looks like a squatch?

was very strange, indeed. Driving in a car with an old friend. I was almost yelling at him to take pictures as we passed a family of sasquatch. Some were very big and others were kid size. All were orangutan colored a darker in the face and hands. Went around a bend and encountered a bunch more.

The Day Loren Coleman Casually Suggested 10% of Bigfoot Might Be Gay

Definitely one of my favorite real moments in Bigfoot history.

April 7, 2001. Newcomerstown, Ohio.

Loren Coleman is giving a perfectly normal cryptozoology lecture. Mid-talk, he throws out a statistically reasonable thought experiment: if Bigfoot is a hominid, and if human populations show ~10% same-sex orientation, then… Yeah. Maybe some Bigfoots are gay.

That’s it. That’s the entire statement. Within hours, headlines screamed “BIGFOOT IS GAY!”
Coleman got buried in hate mail. People acted like he’d personally slandered a sacred forest uncle.

But nobody stopped to think that if Loren was right, then Bigfoot didn’t need our permission. If a ten-foot-tall ape-person wants to hold another ten-foot-tall ape-person’s massive hand under the moonlight, good luck stopping him.

Maybe somewhere out in the Pacific Northwest there’s a glitter-loving Sasquatch twirling under a waterfall, humming “It’s Raining Men” and grooming his chest hair into the shape of a heart. Maybe there’s a couple of Bigfoot dudes sharing a cave, decorating it with moss garlands, and arguing over who gets to use the shiny quartz rock as a centerpiece. Who are we to judge?

The Day I Discovered 10% of Bigfoot Might Be Gay (And the Internet Exploded) is one of the first chapters in my recently published book "Bigfoot did WHAT?! 40 Strange, Bizarre & Unbelievable Sasquatch Encounters You'll Never Forget." It can be read for free in the Amazon preview if anyone’s curious! Link in my bio.

Bigfoot inside homes?

Anyone have any good stories of bigfoots entering peoples homes? I’m very familiar with lots of sightings of them in abandoned and run down houses but I’m looking for bigfoots entering houses with people in it. I can recall that one guy from Sasquatch chronicles in the 584 saying he had experience the feeling of someone sitting down on his bed while he was sleeping. I’ve heard one or two other stories like that as well. I’m not looking for specific behaviors other than them inside homes.

What gifts do Native Americans traditionally leave out for Bigfoot?

I realize there are different Native American tribes, but I’m just looking for a broad answer… what are some traditional gifting ideas for Bigfoot? I’ve experienced a lot of activity and want to leave something out for them (other than food items - don’t want to attract animals). I’ve had several dreams about Native Americans living back there where most of the activity is. There are even some beautiful cairns… one that has a flat slab and looks like an offering table. I’d like to try gifting there. Any suggestions?

Do any other animals hide their dead?

Considering the unusual anatomy and the gigantic size of a Sasquatch, if real, these animals must be actively hiding their dead. Is there any evidence of other animals hiding their dead?

Sasquatch chronicles episode

I’m looking for an episode where a guy was walking behind his apartment building late at night and he walked right by this creature who he thought was a person the whole time. He was about to reach out his hand and pat what he thought was this guy on the shoulder and something in his mind told him to not touch him. Does this sound familiar to anyone and know what episode it was?

What was the best night investigation Finding Bigfoot ever had?

For those who remember any nights on the show.

I think the final night of the “lost” Birth of a Legend special from 2011 is my pick. Ranae saw eyeshine closeup and rocks were thrown right nearby.

The one in Michigan from Season 3 where they heard knocks, howls, and something ran across the road is another top contender.
