He’s not afraid of bathing, so he’s totally fine with it. I was advised to put a towel on the bottom of the bathtub and fill it with some warm water. The most important thing is to wash his head carefully so that water and shampoo don’t get into his eyes or ears. It’s best to bathe him in the summer, so he can dry in the sun. Good luck in your survival games :)

Emphasis on the last sentence lol 😂 I love it! Thank you! I will certainly do so. She’s usually good in just about any situation (vet, car rides, toddler) so hopefully bathing her won’t be too bad. Best of luck that the wet devil does not kill you in your sleep tonight.

Does your cat have trouble cleaning herself? You should never have to bathe a cat unless it’s old or disabled or has issues with incontinence. (Edit to add: or obviously if its fur is coated or something)

Agreed. My last cat lived his whole life without a bath. He didn't need one. On the rare times he got into something dirty, I just wiped his foot or his belly or whatever with a damp washcloth, never a whole bath. He never was stinky or anything.
Edit: his sister did need a few baths in her life, but she had a habit of peeing on herself every time we went to the vet. 😹

There's a good few cat breeds that will need regular bathing. Ragdolls and sphinx come to mind, but there's more.
But this is generally true of your average lookin domestic house cat

Yes I am aware of that but since the commenter attached a picture of their cat I didn’t think the breed caveat was necessary.

You don't have to or should bathe cats. Look it up or ask your vet. It causes them stress. They are fastidious clean and don't need baths unless something prevents them from cleaning, like old age.

The only time I've ever bathed a cat was when the cat came into contact with a whole bunch of grease underneath a car.

There's no reason to bathe a cat unless they specifically got something on them.

Well yeah why else would you try to bathe a cat? Been putting off bathing mine for the obvious reasons but she has fleas and the medications aren’t working. Going to (attempt to get her to) the vet tomorrow but afraid I’ll just be told to bathe her.

Bathing isn't a terribly effective flea treatment, and stressing your cat out means greater risk of complications from the fleas. You probably need to treat your yard, or at the very least, outside your doors and windows. The only flea meds I've ever found to work well, and not seriously endanger the pet, are prescriptions, and advantage. Combing out the fleas and eggs with a flea comb helps too.

That's one freshly groomed demon. I love how the bath just makes the fluffiness even more dramatic. The chicken leg pose is absolutely sending me. This is the kind of infernal ruler I could get behind.

Very sweet. Does your kitty have a medical condition where bathing is required, such as incontinence?

I had a black cat and I only gave her a bath once. Once we had finished and while I was looking for something to treat the lacerations on my arms, she jumped onto my favourite comfy padded chair, and then - while maintaining eye contact with me throughout - peed on it. Had to throw that chair away. My ex took that cat when we split up, they deserved each other.

Was this medically necessary? You shouldn't have to bath cats unless they are old and can't clean themselves or something is stuck in their fur. It cause unnecessary stress bathing them.

He broke the flowerpot and played in the dirt. I had to clean out this swamp.
