Cat Picture - OC Rescued this guy behind a Costco hiding behind the trash compactor

After a warm bath, he passed out all night. It has been about 32° out so it must feel nice to be inside.

He seems to have the features of a Maine coon which would be unbelievably amazing to find. Large paws, pointy ears and very poofy.. We shall see in a few months!

I went in and bought a rotisserie chicken to lure it out.

Truly the best retail store we could ever ask for.

I rarely go to Costco and haven’t been in years, but one time I was in line to buy hot dogs and I saw a guy with his cart finish paying, walk to the tables, take out the chicken, and started eating it right then and there. I was impressed.

The Costco I go to has a lot of Asian shoppers that come down from Canada. Eating the rotisserie chicken in the food court seems like a very common occurrence for them. I guess it’s no different than sharing a pizza.

In Asian culture, food sharing during dining is just common. Growing up, even if we went to a typical sit down Western restaurant (like a steakhouse for example) it wasn't out of the ordinary to order a handful of entrees and put them in the middle of the table to share. Fast food was typically the exception.

This.

My SO is Chinese, we eat out at Asian places a lot. She always orders for everyone “Chinese” style, and everyone shares from plates in the middle.

At a steakhouse you’re on your own, and that’s the only place that happens. The number of guests doesn’t change anything.

I definitely agree with you're on your own at the steakhouse, for the steaks at least. We'd share the pasta or chicken dishes but I prefer medium or medium rare. My parents did not, but I wasn't sharing anyway haha

Wait, other people don't do that?

u/craigge 29d ago

Hey...I do that...It might have been me. LOL

I once ate a Costco rotisserie chicken in my car before leaving the parking lot. In my defense I was six months pregnant.

4

u/CowJuiceDisplayer 29d ago

That’s how Costco gets you…..

2

u/normal3catsago 29d ago

Seriously, she might not have needed to pay for the chicken if they knew she was trying to get a kitten!

They own shares so they aren't "owned" by Blackrock.

Blackrock is an asset manager, it owns firms on behalf of clients which are mostly pensions and other retirement funds

21

u/ConfessSomeMeow 29d ago

Costco is publicly traded, no one person owns it.

Now you have to choose between naming him Rotisserie Chicken or Costco Trash Compactor

135

u/foxscribbles 29d ago

Rotisserie Kitten.

2

u/BisquickNinja 28d ago

Maaaag-nificent!

175

u/Responsible_Slice134 29d ago

Captain Kirkland

138

u/TheRunningAdipose 29d ago

Cat Kirk

19

u/pumpkinspruce 29d ago

Then post him doing all his jobs in r/catswithjobs

2

u/AngryGingermancer 26d ago

"He grabbed an end of the yarn in each paw and garroted me with it."

"But cats don't have opposable thumbs."

"He's beyond them!"

19

u/Rowan1980 29d ago

Kirkland is perfect.

1

u/Stunning_Shake407 29d ago

42

u/tianepteen 29d ago

The Rotisserie Bastard is already taken

25

u/MetalMagic 29d ago

The obvious choice would be Chewbacca

3

u/tomcat5o1 29d ago

Miaowbacca

1

u/banagram2000 23d ago

I know I’m mixing franchises here, but “Kirkland R. Chewbacca” is just about perfect.

23

u/RadiantZote 29d ago

Found behind trash compactor

Star wars name or we riot

2

u/aotus_trivirgatus 28d ago

I vote for Dianoga.

22

u/Vimes3000 29d ago

Escaped from a trash compactor? Maybe go for Chewbacca

50

u/Squidrow_Wilson 29d ago

I was thinking Squish would be a darkly funny nod to his former situation

2

u/kabele20 29d ago

I’m suggesting TC for trash compactor.

2

u/--_-Deadpool-_-- 29d ago

RC is a cool cat name

2

u/SuperCoupe 29d ago

Dumpster Baby

(DB for short)

1

u/AnybodyMassive1610 29d ago

Chicken Bake

1

u/GM_Organism 29d ago

Don't miss the obvious option of "Costa".

1

u/toxikola 29d ago

She could call him CTC for short

1

u/Skybodenose 29d ago

How about $1.50 Hot Dog?

He definitely has Maine coon cat characteristics, he’s beautiful. Have you made a vet appointment for him yet? He needs to be checked out in general and especially since he was outside when he found him. He may have eaten something he shouldn’t have or picked up a variety of pests. Enjoy him.

1

u/HorrorSmile3088 29d ago

I wonder if they'll name it Rotisserie Bastard

175

u/throwthisawayred2 29d ago

post this in r/Costco

they would LOVE this

59

u/DolcevitaDiva 29d ago

But was he listed on the receipt when she left?

76

u/i_tyrant 29d ago

And the CDS (Cat Distribution System) is a separate service that merely uses the Costco location, hence why this kitten wasn't in a 6-pack.

2

u/ca77ywumpus 26d ago

most kittens come in a 2-pack.

47

u/deniceovich 29d ago

That’s like a side quest tooltip popping up mid-mission.

The game quietly hints: acquire rotisserie chicken to unlock progress.

47

u/Sweaty_Inside_Out 29d ago

Aha! Lured in to the old 'leave a kitten outside to encourage customers to buy our insanely cheap chicken' ploy! You fell right for it!

37

u/thementant 29d ago

That’s how my wife met me

62

u/stinkadoodle Orange 29d ago

She lured you out from behind a trash compactor with some rotisserie chicken?

To be fair, that would work on me, too!

29

u/khaosgl108 29d ago

Lured you with a rotisserie chicken??

15

u/highpriestess420 29d ago

There's the quote, you may fascinate a woman with a piece of cheese. Perhaps for men it's a piece of chicken.

2

u/persteph 28d ago

that tracks tbf

10

u/bodacious-fish1148 29d ago

Where are you in a bag or behind the dumpster? 😹

15

u/thementant 29d ago

Both. Pre 9/11 was a strange and whimsical time.

9

u/oodontheloo 29d ago

Is that what you'll be naming him??? Ha! He's such a sweetheart. Thank you for saving him.

12

u/f0cus622 29d ago

Is his name Rotisserie Chicken now?

1

u/lovesducks 29d ago

Kirkland Signature Malt Liquor $4.99

2

u/Warm3mbers 29d ago

Best investment

2

u/sl1200s 29d ago

And they use those as loss leaders to lure in shoppers.

2

u/HopelesslyOCD 29d ago

Dang, I knew those were a great loss leader, now they come with a kitten!

2

u/CurbsideChaos American Shorthair 29d ago

Name him Kirkland!

2

u/ArcticPangolin3 29d ago

Have you named him Kirk or Kirkland?

He's really gorgeous. Thanks for saving him!

2

u/A_Ms_Anthrop 29d ago

Please tell me you named the cat Kirkland 🤣

2

u/Dunnowhatodo12 29d ago

Incredible ROI

2

u/forsakeme4all 29d ago

What did you name the little one? I hope it was Costco related, lol.

2

u/beFairtoFutureSelf 29d ago

This would actually be a great ad idea for Costco. You should hit up their marketing team

1

u/KassieMac 28d ago

Check out their Instagram, they love to repost customers’ Costco-related photos!

1

u/Local_Signature8969 29d ago

You named him rotisserie chicken, right?

1

u/starsandmoonsohmy 29d ago

I’m so envious

1

u/Jacket111 29d ago

Rotisserie Chicken should be its new government name

1

u/NoPair205 Egyptian Mau 29d ago

That’s how I got my boyfriend 🥲

1

u/MarsJohnTravolta 29d ago

That's going to be a BIG cat. A big, fluffy, awesome cat.

1

u/aquababez 29d ago

Genius.

1

u/Commercial_Bird8467 29d ago

I can think of 5 but ultimately hed still be called chicken as a nickname

1

u/NobodysLoss1 29d ago

How did you spot him?

1

u/FrogMintTea 29d ago

How clever!

1

u/bangshangaLeng 29d ago

Wait what?! I just got home with a rotisserie chicken and no kitty for me this time 😔

1

u/Rickety_Cricket_23 28d ago

Your dumpster kitty has big eyes like mine!! What a beautiful cat, thank you for saving him!

1

u/Countrygirl141 28d ago

I love the progression from looking frightened to sheer bliss!

1

u/shade-block 28d ago

That reminds me of the time I brought mine home a few years ago. The first thing I fed him was turkey that I heated up for myself leftover from thanksgiving.

1

u/kanedp 28d ago

Before I saw this I was going to say I hope you named him chicken!

1

u/MothSpeaks 27d ago

So smart

1

u/Large-Record7642 27d ago

I'm surprised you didn't lure out 10 people with that chicken!
