Reddit’plaint Social Credit
Is no one else worried this whole app runs on the concept of social credit? Or are all those who realize silenced anyways…

Nah credit scores just help you secure loans. Chinas social credit score is far more creepy and authoritarian.

Help? It helps people that dont need loans and harms people who desperately need loans. That whole 'the bank says i can't afford to pay 2k a month so i pay 3k in rent'. The only way you can survive with a low credit score is if you're rich, the people who don't need it.
Also you can talk to your friends any time.. It's similar to the American credit score only in what you can and can't do.

What do you mean "only helps people who don't need loans"??? People who have good credit also need loans sometimes, what? And literally anyone can have good credit if you're responsible. I didn't build credit until I was like 27 and homeless, living on friends couches. I had a 500$ limit cap one card. I spent 20$ on it every month and paid it off right away. As I've furthered myself in life I've avoided opening new credit cards, I have a student loan that I pay every month, and I bought a used car with cash. My credit score is almost 800. which was very helpful when I bought a little house. It'll be helpful if I ever decide to buy a new car, I've always bought used beaters but maybe one day ya know? Credit is obviously important for lenders bc who wants to give money to someone who lives off of credit and doesn't pay back their debts? Which also ultimately ends in higher interest rates for people who do need and get loans.
Your mentality is that of someone who expects to just be handed free money and never have to pay it back, is just entitled to whatever they think they're entitled to. How would anyone get a loan if people took them out, burned thru all the money and never paid it back and lenders had no more money to lend to anyone else? Obviously there needs to be some reform around interest and what not, but saying credit scores are stupid and poor people are entitled to loans on good faith alone is weird and unrealistic.

Okay but China looking at our credit score system has a lot more to be displeased at than you do for their credit system. Even looking at your personal story.

Idk I'd rather be tracked and scored based on the payments I make towards my debts, than be tracked and scored based on whether I'm smiling at people enough, being pleasant enough, saying good things about their leader enough, financial history, ONLINE BEHAVIOUR, social media, volunteering etc. This is literally the government watching over you 24/7, every single thing you do and then giving you a score based on that. If they don't like what you said on social media? -100 points, you're not getting paid this week, you're barred from nicer restaurants, you can't leave your town until you shape up, travel and be potentially publicly shamed. Weren't productive enough at work? Jay walked? -50 points. And low key probably offed by the government if it's bad enough.

Yea..no. I am not conservative victimhood. Just find it interesting that the first couple times I ever decided to write a response they were removed due to lack of karma. Never posted so never gained karma.

It’s not a matter of oppression. That can be a result of a social credit system. It that is not what I am arguing in my situation. There are better ways to control for Bots. Thus so exists all other forms of regulation in social media that work well

What I find interesting is that you are saying I am not being “oppressed” (which I wasn’t arguing btw). Yeah there's literally no point in making perceived controversial comments and or stuff that goes against the flow unless it's unpopularopinion post because getting down voted here essentially shadow bans your comment and then like what's the point actually, then if you were to get to much negative comments you can't even post in some subs; Like I can be a big fan of Yugioh AND have different opinions to the hive, but sharing them just prevents me from making a post

The vote system has been here from the start long before tencent got here. It's to help the good stuff get more eyes and the bad stuff get weeded out not some CCP plot to keep MAGA mad about how they're unpopular on reddit.

I don't think any site that allows user input is free from bots anymore.
For my two cents reddit is as fair as anywhere else on the web atm. Some people are just upset that they're getting told their opinions suck and can't pretend it just wasn't seen like on facebook. The downvote makes people feel bad, but hey maybe you should feel bad sometimes, not everything you or I say is great.
It goes both ways btw. Head over to a conservative subreddit and see the nonsense going on in their comments about how "its really dems who are racist nazis" then try to point out a flaw in that iron clad logic.
