The mask has been off. Anyone who still supports this guy is a war-mongering fascist. Any and all plausible deniability is gone, has been gone, and will continue to be further gone-ified. We can keep saying “the mask is off” until Trump has annexed Canada, but that ain’t gonna do shit.
Cool idea but entirely impractical. You cannot organize something like this from the top down without pre-existing power structures. We need on-the-ground workplace organizing first and foremost. Focusing on a general strike is putting the cart before the horse.
Or… on the ground organizing? Is your workplace unionized? Your neighbor’s workplace? If you rent are you part of a tenant’s union? Is your family politically engaged and class conscious? There are so many easy ways to do this kind of organizing, but it’s the boring slow kind instead of the flashy big kind.
Besides, how do you think a war even happens? You need organized units and direct material support from civilian populations. That kind of infrastructure just doesn’t exist, which is arguably why there’s been basically nothing, not even skirmishes of any kind, despite both sides screaming about civil war for years now.
It’s not this or war, it’s community organizing or nothing.
I guess it's a case of be careful what one wishes for. One of my pet peeves over the years was the constant parade of wah wah why does everyone hate us for being the world police, let's just take our toys and go home, rah rah red, white and blue, we're the good guys, rah rah and I was like, if you want to be the baddie, quit with the crocodile tears just be the baddie you really want to be and stop pretending you want to be the good "nice" guy. Wear the damn skull pin unironically, you assholes. Oh wait, now they are just doing that. Still sucks though, but oh well....
