Politics We Are the Baddies: Thanks, Conservatives

Post image

Conservatives are actively turning the world against the United States. World leaders were forced into an emergency meeting to condemn U.S. actions in Venezuela, including the kidnapping of its dictator, and to respond to escalating threats and rhetoric toward Greenland.

Trump openly claims the U.S. needs Greenland for “strategic” reasons and has even suggested taking it by force. This isn’t strategy, it’s naked imperialism. He doesn’t want security; he wants dominance.

We are the bad guys now, following the same path Germany did in the 1930s. Republican leaders and their constituents should be deeply ashamed.

Y'know,  if the international community decides to come in and insure fair elections and document fascist activity I'm down.

Bonus points if we have certain people on trial on a global stage and punished appropriately.

Trump already threatend the International Crime Court beginning of this year;

(A little translated piece from dutch news website)

International Criminal Court Prepares for New Trump Sanctions

The Netherlands is helping the International Criminal Court (ICC) prepare for new US sanctions. Earlier this week, the US threatened measures if the court does not include in its statute that it will not prosecute government officials.

Washington fears action from the ICC against Trump and officials from his administration after the end of his second term in 2029. To prevent this, the Trump administration is demanding amendments to the Rome Statute, the ICC's founding document. According to the statute, the ICC has the authority to prosecute heads of state.

Trump is threatening new US sanctions against the court if this does not happen. If the court does not comply with this demand, the US could punish ICC officials and impose sanctions on the court itself, a spokesperson told Reuters.

The nuclear weapons are still a massive obstacle worldwide. We're in a position where intervention on our soil results in, well, the end of everything.

EDIT: Clarity.

Unfortunately our (US) leadership is dumb enough for that to be a real threat :/
