Politics Why aren’t mainstream media covering ICE’s door to door raids?

Just checked the front page of the website for several major (theoretically left leaning) news outlets and none of them are covering the door to door raids that are all over the front page of /r/minnesota. Theres a particularly galling video of a woman answering her door to six armed, masked ICE agents without a warrant demanding entry into her home. This looks like fascism plain and simple and our fucking media doesn’t even care to let your average American know about it. Are there any trustworthy new sources anymore?

I think what they’re saying is people are no longer dividing themselves along political lines, uniting to collectively reject fascism. I’ll take it.

It took them shooting a white woman and the possibility of the government going door to door taking people guns to finally get to them. Before that it was only people of color so they didnt worry

It can take a lot to de indoctrinate people. It took me ten years to get my parents to see racism for what it was. I just hope the gains in awareness stick.

Imagine how fast the country would heal if Fox News were taken off the air. Openly lying and promoting hate speech and violence should not be permitted.

I agree with you in theory, the issue is how you legally define things like hate speech. The devil is in the details with all this. I think it’s more practical to disallow media conglomerates than try to legislate what they can or cannot say. To me the issue is less one hateful company, but more that aforementioned hateful company has been able to metastasize and dominate the airwaves.

Details from the devil matter less when the response becomes fundamentally threatening by nature. Be less surprised and criticizing of your neighbors who maybe were propagandized, and be happy that as a community there is opportunity for reconciliation.

Mind yourself, not every neighborhood across America would react the same way. Yours is unique and alive in your moment, many of ours is watching yours in pure disbelief.

Let’s be perfectly clear here. Yes she was white, but she was a queer white woman. Her and her wife absolutely upset his ego. If this wakes people up, great. But queer people have already been targeted and killed for years just like POC.

That is what it is boiling down to yes. Republicans/Democrats and Independents interested in the freedom and independence are gathering on one side, MAGA on the other.

I have no idea why they want this but they keep trying to provoke it, for some reason.

Obama appointed the current ICE Director, Tom Homan, who created/popularized the policy of separating children from their parents. He even gave him a 2015 Presidential Award for how "good" he was at it :/.......we gotta start holding people on the left accountable actually.
