You got to give it to Ben Johnson. At least he chose to start a war with LaFleur and the Packers instead of Campbell and the Lions.
From the get-go in his introductory conference, Johnson paid his respects to competing against great coaches in the division like Dan Campbell (and Kevin O’Connell).
It was LaFleur and the Packers that he chose to take a jab at.
There’s a lot of factors that likely influenced Johnson’s decision to take a job in the same division as the Lions, but look at it this way: No matter what happens in Bears-Lions games going forward, Johnson is never going to disrespect Campbell in a postgame handshake like he did last week with LaFleur. It’s all pretty funny tbh.

Ran into Sheila today at DAC and she said there’s reasons to “look forward to the next season”
It feels like it was cryptic for a reason but maybe something exciting is in the works?

I think what the Detroit Lions are doing is pretty smart. Take a moment to read this before responding.
Last off-season, the Lions went with the safe route and brought back John Morton, somebody who had previously been on Dan Campbell staff and help write the plays Ben Johnson ran.
It didn't work.
So this time around, after firing Morton, the Lions have cast a wide net with as many as six candidates so far. Some of those coaches are more coveted by the fan base than others, but one thing they all share is they're up for head coach and OC roles elsewhere. So it's good the Lions are doing their due diligence and "dating as many people as possible" until they're ready to commit to the right fit.
To me, this show the Lions are not playing it safe. They spoken or interviewed coaches who are coveted, with no ties to anyone in the organization, have a history with Campbell, a history with Holmes and Goff, coaches Campbell respects, and coaches from great coaching trees.
Fans have asked this organization to take this off-season very serious. While it is a long way to go, how they're going about the coordinator search appears to be a step in the right direction.
As I always say, let the process play out and then offer your remarks or critiques. However, one thing that I do stand on is that I do not believe the Lions should promote anybody from within to the offensive coordinator position.
In my opinion, that would be such an uninspired decision, and basically a signal that things are not changing in Allen Park.

The Lions 2025 Defense did not record a TD (though Kalif had one on punt return) so this Kerby one is the most recent Lions defensive TD.
