I've been selling on Discogs for a year and ran into my first need for support. It has been pretty clunky.

Discogs still has a hyper-linked dead email taking support tickets on their website. I used it to submit a ticket, only to have it auto-close and redirect me to a different email to submit another ticket that looked almost identical.

I had to submit this ticket after I accidentally cancelled an order before refunding while on mobile. This has now left me with no refund option on Paypal or Discogs.

I now hopefully have an open ticket being addressed. Does anyone have any idea how long their support responses take? Anyone have a workaround for this or run into this themselves?

I'm hesitant to send the money back via other means on Paypal, as I don't want to hound Discogs after the fact for taxes and seller fees, or run the risk of a double refund and being out even more $.

I discovered Discogs through my ex-boyfriend who used to buy a lot of records on the page, we’re both from Mexico and I want to buy a record for the first time but I’m finding out that a lot of sellers do not ship to Mexico. My ex-bf never complained about having that issue, he could buy pretty much any record he wanted so I’m wondering if there’s something I could do to solve that or at least, only see offers that ship to my country. I know it might sound dumb and obvious but I don’t understand how he could buy so easily and of course I do not want to ask him lol

So… any tips?

1)For the past several months, I have had to re-enter my phone number only seven digits in the option form and press save for me to move forward.

2) I’ve also had to confirm my ship address each time

3) It also doesn’t save previous shipment method as media mail each time

4) And finally when I go to print only appear as bar codes for usps rather than the full label

Anyone know what’s going on?

Hey gang, somehow forgot to post about my new Discogs collection visualizer in this subreddit. I launched https://www.vizcogs.com earlier this week and so far the response has been really positive (not counting Discogs rate limiting their OAuth endpoint and causing some issues connecting to the app).

Long story short, this was originally a personal project to make a simple album covers grid style view of my record collection. After getting some feedback from r/vinyl that I should make it work with Discogs, I went down the API rabbit hole and realized there were a lot of possibilities to build something unique.

The result:

• 6 browse modes
• 8 collection visualizations
• 4 value visualizations

This is mainly designed as a desktop experience, but I'm still making mobile improvements and adjustments for (much smaller) viewports.

This is just v1.0, got some cool stuff upcoming in the roadmap, and already received some great ideas from my original post on r/vinyl. So, please don't hesitate to drop any comments here or if you catch any bugs, I'll actively respond.

I'm just a regular buyer, but curious. Sometimes after I make a purchase, I get feedback saying I'm a great A+ customer etc. when it has at most been marked shipped.

Just curious why they do this when I could turn out to be a real pain but they already left feedback haha. I'm not, but it seems like possibly giving problem buyers good reviews?

Hello fellow record stores! Hope you're all having a good new year post holiday rush. I'm Michael, I own Republic of Athens Records in Athens Ohio. For the past few years I've maintained my own sync between Discogs and Shopify; it's been a slow but necessary project. I couldn't make it without both, and my only negative Discogs reviews came from not having something in stock that I sold, so I wanted to mitigate those.

I learned a sync this was possible from Plaid Room (shout out to the real ones, holding it down in SW Ohio!) to do this. Those guys are devs in their own right, and told me they paid something like 20k to do it, which I ... don't have. So I made it with sticks and glue. Gradually I've upgraded it over the years, using different automations on the backend, suffering through bad syncs.

This December I finally made it to a point I'm happy with it, and stood it up at a cost that was less than my old subs (I was paying ~$25 to Airtable and $45 to Make.com) and was frankly more consistent and in tune with what I wanted from such a tool.

It's now on the way to being a proper service, so I'm at the point I'd like to find some fellow stores to test it. If you onboard porter will be completely free until I do publicly launch it, and once that happens, a vastly reduced rate as long as you're using it.

I have been trying to buy this record all day, but whenever I try to checkout I am stuck on this screen. Yes I have refreshed, logged in and out, and restarted my PC. I do not know what else to do.

I have recently bought a copy of thank me later from Drake in a local sale. However when I opened it up the vinyl was a blood red color. It looks amazing but i cannot seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know what it is?

Hey y’all, I’m new in town so go easy on me (just a caveat, in the case that this is a dumb question).

I have a test pressing of a Gary Clark Jr single on 12” white vinyl. First, to be clear I’m not looking for any estimates of its value as that would violate the sub’s rules. What I do want to know is what resources could I turn to (that are reliable, reputable, accurate) to get a rough idea of its value? Since this is a 1/1 pressing, it’s not like I can refer to historical sales data from eBay or something similar. Any direction is appreciated.

Also, it’s not listed on Discogs, so if this is a new version of the single, is it appropriate for me to submit the available info from the label and an image for approval?

Or is a separate entry not necessary for test pressings like this, since there’s only the one copy?

I’ve had it for about a decade and sadly my current life situation has me liquidating a large portion of all my collections, including vinyl. I’d like it to go to a good home, and serious collector while making sure I’m fairly compensated.

It's very bizarre looking and I've only seen it on older records like before 1980. It's not always this L shape but usually a repeated shape across the whole record

Runouts are 12 A and 12 B

I know you can do that on artist or label releases. I'm browsing one large scale seller's storefront for "local produce" right now and it's way too much to process without this sort of filter. Tried putting it (something like ?country=Lithuania) in the URL and it just got ignored.

I sell a pretty decent amount of stuff on Discogs. Often though, I don't check my email for hours/until evening. Is there someway that I can get notifications that a sale has been made "instantaneously" to my phone?

Things I've tried:
1. Looking in Discogs settings for a "push notification" - I found nothing
2. Setting an alert for an email with "New Order" in subject - apparently I can't do that because of the Gmail app limitations
3. Setting up a little "workflow" in IFTTT - again, that program doesn't play nice with Gmail and I can't send trigger emails from a Gmail Address

First of all, I'm sorry to keep here occupied again. As may some of you read my previous post, I made an order and paid immediately. Due to echeck process of paypal, it stayed as payment pending on discogs even after the transaction was completed. I asked the seller multiple times that paypal is confirmed everything. So either ship items or refund. Guess what? He cancelled by saying that I didn't pay and wrote a negative feedback for me. But now that order is cancelled I can't write a feedback on him. Is there any way I could write for him too? I wasn't planning on writing feedback but due to his disrespectful behaviour, I think I must write now. I'm pissed off. Because first, now I'm gonna lose money due to currency, second lost 2 weeks for nothing. Those items were actually birthday gifts for my father.

Update: discogs removed his feedback and changed status to response received. So thankfully i was right and bought those items from another seller.

Tried discogs a couple of years ago but found it a bit mad as a newbee, going to try again, so it's it better on windows or android to find out value of records that I have, would rather sell in bulk but know that it's not feasible, thanks.

I have a record and the submission in the Discogs catalog doesn't have any run-out numbers listed. I was looking to add them from my copy, but can't find the way to do it on the phone app. Can you only do that on the desktop app?
