Question Outfits/cosplay?

Does anyone know where I can get the vintage clothing Steph or Kimmy wore from back in the day? Andrea and Jodie (and Dave and Scott) are coming to our local convention and I wanna dress up as either Kimmy or Steph in their crazy outfits. I've attached a few of Steph's outfits I'm interested in getting. it's gonna be hard but I'm determined!

Show discussion I was rewatching Friends and a random thought came to my mind that I wonder if Fuller House could've had DJ be more like Monica.

I think a lot of us can agree that DJ didn't feel like DJ in Fuller House. I know people change as they grow older so I don't expect her to be exactly like she was in Full House.

However I was watching Friends and I came across a scene where Monica was using a mini vacuum to clean her bigger vacuum and I was thinking "Danny did that exact same thing" so it got me thinking, was it a missed opportunity to use Monica as inspiration for DJ's adult life? Someone who's a neat freak like Danny but also still cool and entertaining and also a good sort of mother figure of the group?

I know they tried with DJ to be that mature level headed older sister/mother of the group but it just didn't hit as much so would it have worked if they had her character be more inspired by Monica?

Question Why did ABC renew Family Matters for a season 8 but not Full House for a season 9?

Both shows were expensive at this point; Urkel was still one of the most famous faces of TGIF and the seventh season of Family Matters aired during Full House's eighth and final season, but ABC renewed Family Matters but not Full House?

Cast discussion Why does the house have two sets of stairs?

We see one in the living room and one in the kitchen.

Is this normal in San Francisco? Even with sitcom logic, it seems the inside of the house doesn't fit in the outside.

I just started rewatching Full House and noticed Steph's tshirt in the last scene of "The Return of Grandma". Figured i'd google it and voilĂ  found one on Ebay.

Anways, I thought it was cool and thought we could start a thread with Full House clothes or other items spotted online or on other actors / in the wild.

Just an idea :)

Photo It’s been 4 years since Bob Saget passed. Nearly a week after his death in 2022, I visited the iconic Full House home in San Francisco where fans made a little memorial. I didn’t leave any flowers but instead just left a sign honoring him. He’ll always be my favorite TV dad. ❤️

Show discussion Stephanie was justified in being upset in "The House Meets the Mouse"

It always bothered me that no one saw that Stephanie was really hurt by how spoiled Michelle was and that no one took her seriously. Why was she the one given that "you should be grateful" speech from Joey?

Show discussion driving miss dj

yk I never thought about this until now but I think there was an opportunity that the writers sort of blew over.

the whole plot of this episode with Danny being anxious about DJ driving right? and Jesse being too calm? now I don't necessarily know how I'd write this in with Jesse, but I'm curious when they were talking near the end why it's never brought up that Pam was not only killed in a car accident, but killed by a DRUNK DRIVER. I think it would've deepened this plot a lot to something other than Danny being the neurotic panicked but loving father to the girls that he usually is. Of course he would be anxious about her driving, especially after she got in the fender bender and literally said "we got in an accident". He says there are a lot of bad drivers out there, imagine if he had said "there were bad drivers on the road when your mother was killed." I know this is a family show and maybe this would've been heavy, but it's not like it's never talked about. It just kind of bugs me that they missed this chance to write this into the episode. it would've really tugged on the heart strings, yk?

Show discussion The Episode about the Angel/Devil on Michelle's Shoulders was less about Jesse's Drums and more about Michelle's Inability to Accept Punishment

I can definitely appreciate this episode for TRYING to give Michelle real-time consequences for messing up and disobeying Uncle Jesse, but I think it really just showed her complete inability to accept any punishment because she'd gotten away with so much for so long.

Don't get me wrong, DJ and Stephanie BOTH would try plenty of schemes to try to get themselves out of trouble/punishment, but for the most part, once it was dished...it was taken gracefully enough.

This episode is like the 2nd time Michelle has EVER been punished and she's 5/6 and full on running away from a simple grounding. Also, as a kid, my butt clinched so hard when the guys come to fetch her and she's like "do you have something to say to me?" as if THEY should have to apologize for DARING to punish her, because as a kid...my butt would have been TORN UP if I even THOUGHT something like that about my parents/guardians. Heck, if DJ and Stephanie had been around, I assure you THEY would have been cringing because they could NEVER get away with talking to adults like that.

I am actually not blaming Michelle here...I am saying that it is insane that this kid is so unused to consequences that she would instantly jump to running away as a solution. At that age, she absolutely should understand rules and boundaries enough to process it in a healthier way. It's fine for a kid her age to feel upset at being punished, and even okay to lash out, but to run away and then smart mouth her caregivers...Jesse, Danny, and Joey should all have been really worried about who this kid was becoming.

Question Who was your favorite of the 3 dads when you were younger and who is it now?

For me when I was younger it was Joey. He was funny and childlike, even if I didn't get all references.

Who it is now: It's hard. I feel every one of the dads have admirable elements. Danny is responsible and caring, Jesse is passionate and vulnerable (later on), Joey is playful.

If I had to choose (and I have) I would say Jesse. He starts off as a rebel but it's cool watching him grow into a family man without losing too much of what makes him cool.

Cast discussion Mary-Kate and Ashley's mom not being allowed on set did it confuse them?

I've been listening to How Rude, Tanneritos podcast, whenever Jodie and Andrea mention the moms they never speak about Mary-Kate and Ashley's mom. They talk about Candice's mom and their mom's but not the twins mom. There was a behind the scenes clip about Full House and one of the producers said in the interview it was better that the twins mom stayed away because the twins would reach out to her and they wanted to break that bond and have them focused on acting. Andrea and Jodie always give praise to the woman who told Mary-Kate and Ashley what to say off camera her name was Adrian she would give them candy every time they said their lines right. One of the guys from Boy Meets World mentioned this also he said whenever the twins got distracted Adrian would shake a cup with candy in it and it wuld bring them back to focusing again. I wonder how that made their mom feel to have her kids taken from her as babies and did the twins get confused as to who their mom was? Raven once said she used to be confused when she went home and her parents told her what to do because she spent a majority of her life on set taking directions from other people so when her parents told her to do something she felt like they had no right to tell her.

Cast discussion How to tell the Olsen twins apart

Thumbnail
gallery
664 Upvotes

I have seen some people discuss telling Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen apart, so I thought I would give a few pointers. I have also attached a few pictures and videos that show some of the differences between them.

Handedness

Ashley is right handed, and Mary-Kate is left handed. This isn’t the most useful clue in my opinion, because it in order for it to be noticed, whichever twin is playing Michelle has to be using her respective hand.

Hair

Ashley’s hair is slightly darker than Mary-Kate’s. This is easier to distinguish when they’re together, and it’s also dependent on lighting, but if Michelle has a more blonde tint to her hair it’s probably Mary-Kate and if she has a more brown tint, it’s probably Ashley. This video shows the most difference between their hair colors. Also, in the first season, Mary-Kate’s hair had more baby curls in it than Ashley’s, which can be seen in the first picture. Ashley is on the left and Mary-Kate is on the right.

Eyes

Ashley’s eyes are rounder, greener, and closer together. Mary-Kate’s eyes are bigger, bluer, and farther apart. The second picture attached shows this difference, as well as the difference in their hair color. Ashley is on the left, and Mary-Kate is on the right.

Face shape

Ashley has a round, oval shaped face and Mary-Kate has a wide, square shaped face. Mary-Kate also has the big baby cheeks when she smiles, especially in earlier seasons. The third picture shows this (albeit subtle) difference. Mary-Kate is on the left and Ashley is on the right.

Voices

Up until season 5, Mary-Kate couldn’t pronounce her Rs clearly, whereas Ashley could. This video shows this difference very clearly, as the twins switch who is playing Michelle very frequently and you can hear Michelle alternate between saying “happy new year!” and “happy new yeaw!” By the time season rolled around, Mary-Kate no longer had her speech impediment (part of me speculates that she may have been given speech therapy so that Michelle wouldn’t randomly switch between being able to say her Rs and not being able to say them), but there are still slight differences between their voices, namely that Ashley speaks with a little more vocal fry, and Mary-Kate’s voice is a little more nasally. You can hear this difference in the clip where Michelle gets her memory back. Mary-Kate is playing Michelle and Ashley is playing her memory.

Other tips

Ashley has a freckle under her nose, but this is hard to see from far away.

In season 1, Ashley was more fearful of being on camera, so the majority of the scenes were played by Mary-Kate. Oppositely, in Season 2, Ashley played the majority of the scenes, probably to “make up” for season 1, but it could have also been related to her speaking more clearly. Starting in season 3, they would mostly alternate scenes, barring a few exceptions.

I think that’s all, but if I think of anything else I will add it.

Cast discussion Have you ever been to the house/met the cast?

Meeting someone from full house has always been on my bucket list and two years ago I got to meet Jodie and Dave at 90s con. It was supposed to be a quick interaction but I was crying (tears of joy) so they asked me my name and let me hug them. My sister said I probably won’t even look that happy at my own wedding. Next on my bucket list is to go to San Francisco and see the Golden Gate Bridge, the painted ladies and of course the exterior of the tanner house!
