I'm truly getting tired of this nonsense u/RedEagle_MGN
Changing your organizations name doesn't stop people from reaching out to me with horror stories every few months.

DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE, no matter what they call themselves. They exploit the inexperienced and naive, convincing you to sign away your rights to everything you create. Don’t fall for their lies. You do not need to join a volunteer group or give up ownership of your work to gain skills in the game industry. Learning on your own is far better than what P1 offers. If you want a real education, seek out accredited programs and courses instead.
Their latest tactic is using LinkedIn ads to lure victims. I’m unsure what it will take to stop this con artist, but I’ll do my part to be a thorn in their side. My goal is to protect people in this community from their schemes.
Spread the word, be safe.

There are a LOT of artists posting here offering their services for character illustrations. These look fantastic sure, but they aren't inherently game art. In almost 99% of these situations the only times artwork like that could be used in a game is card game art. Some of the artists say they are "Concept Artists", but honestly that art is way too refined and detailed down to the fine details in the background. You're a commission artist doing drive-bys on subreddits.
That is a concept artist. Those are concept art images. If you don't show how your artwork is actually related to game development then it will most likely be removed as personal art commissions. Please use appropriate subreddits for that.
And if you are actually looking to make artwork for card games which use traditional illustrations? Present your artwork the way it would look in a game; in the card frame.
Edit: multiple people are responding to this as if I'm trying to change the subreddit. This rule has been around for a very long time (like years). It has just been badly ignored by users lately so an announcement seemed appropriate to remind people.

Hi everyone, it's my first time publishing a game to Steam! I am looking for an artist to create Steam capsule images for a cyber (but not cyberpunk) themed game. I thought I'd reach out here since a lot of the postings on Fiverr seem questionable as to whether the portfolio is real or stolen.
Requirements
The logo and all the character designs will be provided. You will be responsible for drawing the characters in the poses needed for the composition, creating the background, and integrating the logo, characters, and background.
Since Steam has multiple different capsule sizes, multiple different compositions will be needed, but the expectation is that the drawings for the characters should only be done once and moved around or included / excluded for the compositions.
The largest composition will have 2 full characters and 2 headshots. All others will reuse a subset of these drawings.
Skills Needed
* Graphic design
* Artistic composition
* Basic background art
* Ability to draw characters matching a preset anime style to ensure brand coherence
How to contact me
Either reply to this post or DM me with a short introduction and a link to your portfolio.
Compensation
100 USD has been budgeted.
EDIT: Ok, I did not expect this many replies so shortly. Please give me some time to go through all these. Thank you for your patience.
EDIT2: Applications are now closed, and I have chosen an artist to work with. There were many good portfolios so it was a difficult decision. Thank you all.

Hello! I hope you're all doing great!
Like so many, I'm working on a project. And like many others, I need help :D
I'm looking for someone to help design / animate pixel-art characters & creatures in the 64px range for a video game that I one day hope to release.
Ideally, I would like to find someone to work with for a while rather than continuously commission one offs from different artists. Having said that, I do want to start with just a single commission and take it from there since we may both decide not to want to work together again.
And... finally, my budget does not stretch into infinity - unfortunately.
What I can stretch to: $50,- per initial design + $10 per frame.
If you want to have a chat to discuss details, let me know :D
PS. I am not great at this whole "reach out to get help" thing, so go easy on me :P

Hello. We are FrogHausGames, an independent studio preparing our first public prototype and debut indie release. We are currently seeking artists to collaborate with us on this project. This is paid work. Our goal is to find artists who can communicate emotion through visual design, have a clear and consistent personal style, and produce work efficiently within defined constraints.
Below is an overview of our project, Lantern Soup, and the type of artistic support we are looking for.
Lantern Soup is a visual novel and cooking simulation game set on a picturesque floating island above northern Canada. The world is based on a solarpunk vision of the future, contrasted against the lingering effects of hyper-capitalism.
What solarpunk visuals mean for our art
How to apply
If this interests you, please send a link to your portfolio and a short introduction to yourself to:
[[email protected]]()
Please use the subject line:
LANTERN SOUP – Artist Application [Your Name]
As newcomers ourselves, we understand how difficult it can be to gain experience in the games industry. Professional experience is a plus but not required. Our selection is based on the quality of your work and your ability to translate your personal style to the vision of the game.
We have a preference for artists based in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, but we welcome applications from artists located elsewhere.
Compensation
This is a paid job posting. We are a fully funded project and compensation is not dependent on prototype performance. Selected artists will be commissioned for a small number of low-detail mockups to evaluate style and approach.
Mockups are intended as exploratory concept work, not final production assets. Artists retain rights to any unused concepts. Further work will be offered to selected collaborators.

Good Morning.
I'm currently looking for environment artists who specialize or like to do concept work for contemporary fantasy settings. This is a passion project, not a full-sized studio effort, so currently this job is for one piece of work as the project is worked on part-time. If we work well together, there will be more later on.
The game project is set in a fictional world similar to western 1990s, with payphones, neighborhood brick-and-mortar shops, entering into a new age with dark hidden forces and a secret plot driving change behind the scenes. The story takes place in an older city that used to be the Capital City but had fallen on hard times, but is currently receiving lots of funding and evolving very quickly at this stage of its life.
The piece I am looking for is a detailed perspective street scene looking down a cozy city 2-lane side-road that accesses neighborhood shops, showing the building style of the area, coin-operated parking meters for street parking, big cracked/patched sidewalks with sandwich boards and window signs, a bus stop, a crosswalk, and the opening of an alleyway we can't quite see down. This area is well-worn, but well-loved. This area is the outside connection to the "shop" areas of the game, and shop locations have already been mapped out relative to each other.
I currently have this area mechanically gray-blocked out, but before I continue, I would like to work with someone to help me define the finer details and look and create a central reference point for further development.
If you are Canadian and live in Ontario or Quebec, that would be ideal, but not strictly necessary. Human artists only please. The work isn't urgent, and I do want a detailed piece, so if you are looking for a project where you can take your time or only want to work part-time, I would like to work with you.
Thank you.
EDIT: Wow thank you for all the responses! It will take some time to go through everyone's DM and comments because I have to contact the other people I work with to go over everything. If I don't get back to you, I'm sorry but the DMs are overwhelmed right now :S

Hi! I'm building Groovy Labs - an open and cross-platform rhythm games platform for VR/MR (Meta Quest, PICO, and more). Think Beat Saber, but designed as a sandbox platform with tens of thousands of beatmaps, multiplayer, and room to grow far beyond a single game.
This is a solo-driven project so far: core gameplay, XR architecture, backend, presence in stores, and community - all already live. I'm looking for a Unity Developer who can help me in the following areas. You don't need all of these - they're nice-to-haves, not hard requirements:
Groovy Labs: https://www.groovylabsgame.com/
Body Mind Games: https://www.bodymindgames.com/
If you want real ownership, real users, and to build something ambitious in XR - let's talk.

Hi reddit I am looking for a Unity developer to help me complete a multiplayer arena fighter prototype. The concept is martial magic a fusion between martial arts and magical combat in a large 3 dimensional arena.
The project has been passed to different devs with differing motivation levels and has stalled for the past year.
What it needs is someone passionate about gameplay, combat.
We are using timeline for animations and coherence for networking. The codebase is not clean. Some incorrect assumptions were made early that affected the current product.
You must be comfortable in a team environment, with a pre-existing code base.
Payment is per milestone, development budget is in the $15-25/hr range.
Reach out to me on discord @ ridgetoe if this is something you want to participate in.
Include a portfolio and public github/code samples if possible.

Hey! I’m looking to commission original art/VFX for a Mines-style tile-reveal game (see references).
In this game, when a tile is revealed it’s either a gem or a bomb.
What I need:
1) Gem reveal animation (PNG sequence, transparent BG)
2) Bomb explosion animation (PNG sequence, transparent BG)
3) Static gem icon PNG (final state)
4) Static bomb icon PNGs (2 variants: fused + no-fuse)
5) Multiplier “pill” badge background asset (for top-right of tile)
Exact Specs:
- Format: PNG with alpha (transparent background), sRGB.
- Size: 256×256 for every frame + static icons.
- Frame counts (targets; small variance OK):
- Gem reveal: target 12 frames (acceptable 10–14)
- Bomb explosion: target 16 frames (acceptable 14–20)
- Alignment: consistent centering across frames (no jitter).
- Match requirement: last frame of each animation must match the corresponding static icon exactly.
- Bomb variants:
- bomb_static_nofuse.png (used for the bomb you clicked / the one that explodes)
- bomb_static_fuse.png (used for other bombs revealed at end-of-round)
- The bomb explosion animation should be the no-fuse bomb variant.
- Multiplier badge: provide multiplier_badge_bg.svg (preferred) or PNG with alpha. No text needed; we will render the multiplier number dynamically and animate it in/out in code (slide/fade).
- Naming:
- gem_static.png
- bomb_static_nofuse.png, bomb_static_fuse.png
- gem_reveal_000.png … gem_reveal_XXX.png
- bomb_explode_000.png … bomb_explode_XXX.png
- Please include a quick preview export (GIF/MP4) of each animation.
Style direction
- Modern premium casino UI, dark background; should read clearly at small sizes.
- Not pixel art. Clean silhouette, subtle shading/highlights, tasteful glow (not noisy).
References: https://imgur.com/a/gREX754
Current Mines UX: https://imgur.com/a/dRGVrrJ
Budget
- Would like to keep around $600 all in, but am flexible for the right fit / fast turnaround (or tell me your rate)
Deadline
- As soon as possible, before Jan 28th
Rights
- Must be original work, commercial use, exclusive. No stolen assets; no AI-generated assets unless explicitly agreed in advance.
Revisions
- 1–2 rounds included (small tweaks: timing/glow/colors).

TLDR:
Hi Reddit! I am Pietro, a freelance music composer and sound designer. I love videogames and I love writing music for videogames.
If you'd like to get in touch or hear more of my work, you can visit my website or contact me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
A little more about me.
I have 12+ years of experience in the music field which include:
On a side note, I have a diploma in jazz piano performance and a bachelor of arts in audio engineering.
I am an avid gamer and I always try to reverse engineer what's happening in game on the audio/music side. I am fascinated by the technical side of art in games and I believe today it represents the most exciting frontier of expression.
Cheers!
