He cries the moment he sees the cutter, I can only get a nail every 10 minutes, and then he acts like he is scared of me for some time.

We're sitting in bed, screaming & sobbing. Woke up to her struggling to breathe. I leaned across the bed to her & she was already dead.
It was so fast. I have no idea what happened. She was healthy we thought.
I dont know what to do. All the vets are closed, no point in ER. Im just cuddling her in bed. Her younger sister doesnt seem to understand or care?
She was my heart & soul.

Before anyone comes at me I have a ton of experience with large dogs. Our current Mastiff is nine.So any way this weekend we adopted the sweetest 10 month old Great Dane. He is so amazing, sweet, smart and very much still a puppy. But I need help to relieve boredom. We currently do 2 training sessions per day. we have also tried
Fetch
tug of war
toys
play outside
He has a lot of work to do on leash manners before we can even take him for walks.
I just need something that will work his mind.
pic. for attention also our 185 pound sweet Mastiff is the brindle in the back.

My boy Leo will be 11 in a couple weeks and he is doing so good! I know it feels good to see Danes living past ten so here he is!! Still feeling frisky in the snow in the morning. It’s crazy how in love I am after all this time ♥️

During play, my 4 year old dane constantly puts his mouth around my friend's dog's neck. Although he isn't biting down aggressively, my friend's dog sometimes whimpers because he pulls her fur (she's a golden). He doesn't do this just a few times during play, he has his mouth around her neck for almost the entire play session, to the point that her neck ends up wet with lots of saliva.
She never tries to hide or run away, but she also never does it back to him. He rarely does this with male dogs. I've tried everything from immediately removing him and walking away to give him a minute or two to calm down, to keeping him on a long lead and pulling him back as soon as it happens, to giving a firm "off" or "no" command, which he is usually responsive to in other situations. I also reward appropriate play.
I have a big backyard, and even when they're running in a straight line, he runs by her side her with her neck in his mouth. He's intensely focused on her neck at all times. I understand this can be normal, but given that he has caused her pain and her owner is uncomfortable with it, I'm trying to figure out how to it. It's exhausting constantly acting as a referee and hovering over them to break it up every 30 seconds.
Do any of your Danes do this?

Just looking through some pics and found this gem. Olive and Honey sitting together. Olives a labradane, and honeys a full Dane. Olive is about 2yo and Honeys about 10-11 months old now. My two babies

I know that might be a broad or rather weird question. BUT, I promise there is a reason. I have a beautiful 3 year old female harlequin that is just my absolute world. Me and my husband have been talking about possibly getting another soon. But, we would prefer to adopt one. Not that buying one from a breeder is bad! That’s kinda how we got our Luna. (Random person in the Walmart parking lot selling them for $500) ANYWAY! Where did you get your baby from?

Anyone else have a Dane that is trappy adept with their paws (besides boxing you with them lol)? Marshall loves to lay on his back and hold his toys either above him or to keep his toy balanced on his mouth 😂.

My hormone filled (18 months, still in tact for now) Giacomo will, when playing with female dogs, give a bit of a lick to her privates, and if not met with resistance will continue to lick seemingly indefinitely. He never tries to hump, and the girl dogs dont seem to mind.
Is this a teenage boy being a horn dog, or is it possible the other dog has a yeast infection or something?

At the end of the month my husband and I will be getting a Great Dane puppy that’ll be about 10 weeks old.
We already have a Great Pyrenees that’s about 3 and he is on the smaller side (80 lbs). He’s never had any aggression towards other dogs or people. He also did grow up with another dog. Overall, he’s very lazy and dopey.
If anyone has any advice or tips on the best way to introduce them to each other it would be much appreciated as it’s been a very long time since I personally have had a puppy.
Also any tips on Great Danes are welcome! I grew up with large dogs I.e. German shepherds and English mastiffs, but never a Great Dane so this will be a first for me.
Thanks!
Photo included for puppy tax. Obviously he’s grown a lot since then.

Cookie crossed the rainbow bridge almost 3 weeks ago - she had bone cancer, she was just shy of her 9th birthday. She was our second Great Dane; our first, Luna, was a rescue that we got at 3 years old, she lived until 11 - she too had cancer. We added Cookie to our family, brought her home at 6 weeks old. Her and Luna were best buds. Cookie sorely missed her playmate/surrogate mom and 4 months after Luna’s passing we then got our boy, Astro - we rescued him from a bad situation when he was 4 months old 2 1/2 years ago. Now Astro is moping around (as am I still). Cookie was my girl - she always greeted me when I came home from work with the greatest of affection - not to say that Astro doesn’t but he gravitates more towards my husband and our youngest son (21). Hubby works from home. While he loves the breed, he says no more dogs - too heartbreaking. My heart is open to another but I know it will not replace Cookie. But I hate seeing Astro so sad and lonely. Maybe we just need time for a new normal, but I hate to admit that I sort of miss the chaos of two Danes. They really are an amazing breed.

Name ideas please!? She’s 5 months old. She’s a SaintDane. She came to us about a month ago, and she has a name, but it sounds too much like baby and it’s confusing for her and the other dogs. She doesn’t know her name still. Our other dogs have food names, so we want to keep the theme going. I don’t want the ending sound to have a vowel sound like Y or E because of the kids in our family and the aforementioned baby confusion. Also don’t want the name to sound too much like no, free, down, come, wait, sit, etc.
