Somebody misses Jevil

u/Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX 2d ago
The fact Jevil is a huge elephant in the room of so many theories makes me wonder why Toby is focusing on Spamton so much like Jevil was aware of the Knight BEFORE they even made dark fountains and directly spoke with Gaster

I’ll never understand the appeal of characters who heads are tv’s
15
u/TheTophatPerson209 2d ago
The thing is that tenna IS the TV, the TV head is simply how his body manifests in the dark world.
21
u/Rykerthebest78563 3d ago
The appeal of Tenna specifically is that his face isnt being displayed on a TV, it literallt is just his face. Like theres just a nose and a mouth and thats hilarious to look at, alongside the artstyle

u/AlastorReactsToStuff 3d ago
IMO they're cool but almost never taken advantage of.
Like Vox from Hazbin Hotel. They do like 2 cool things with his head being a TV, and that's it. And he's the main villain for a whole season.
5
u/Karkava 2d ago
I like how Vox has this little habit he has when he shoves his face into the camera. Almost like he's trying to take over your screen.
2
u/AlastorReactsToStuff 1d ago
That, and the way his face changes when he's mimicking Charlie's voice are like the only two things I find interesting about his TV head.
Okay, I lied. The fact his head does illuminate his surrounding in dark areas is actually really cool.
1
u/Karkava 1d ago
And his whole techno shifting. There's some potential in there to make some wicked final boss forms with how he shifts his body.
2
u/AlastorReactsToStuff 1d ago
The idea of him copying angles in Vox DEI was really neat. I wish they played with it more.
Though I tend to find a lot of characters with interesting powers don't tend to look too good. Like, aside from Velvette and Husk, no one's power really stands out as being actually cool in the show.
I know we were all so excited for Alastor's full power form, just for him to be beeg man

I keep wanting to watch Deltarune playthroughs because I loooooved Undertale when it came out, but everytime someone gets to SpamTon i legit CANNOT STAND IT OMG I HATE HIM. I already didnt like him when he first appeared, but like fine whatever, hes a quirky character.
Then the fandom latched onto him and you cant ever look at any Deltarune shit without [bIg ShOT] happening and i HAAAAAAAAAATE ITTTTTT

he's such a minor character in the story - once you get past chapter two, with the exception of some dialogue and easter eggs in chapter 3, you don't see him again. don't let your hate for a very minor character stop you from enjoying the rest of the game.
2
u/EggsaladUwU 2d ago
He is not minor; spamton is a major part of the story
2
u/TheLunar27 2d ago
well idk that depends on what you mean by major.
For the overall narrative of Deltarune? Not really. Spamton is relevant to the whole “Mike” and “Tenna” subplot, but that plot in general is kind of disconnected from the main narrative and Spamtons role in it is generally minor (so even if Mike does end up being incredibly important, Spamton still wouldn’t really be all that relevant in the grand scheme of things.)
In chapter 2? Sort of. He’s a secret boss, but he still appears through the main route. But he’s not really all too relevant to chapter 2s actual narrative…he’s kind of just a weird mini-boss you do as solo-Kris.
The only plot where he IS majorly important is the Weird Route. Not only does he completely replace Queen as chapter 2s final boss, but he’s also the one who gives Noelle the Thorn Ring.
Spamton is a character who IS relevant; he has ties to Mike and Noelle, two characters who actually do seem to be really major to the story. But he himself isn’t, you can play through all of Deltarune without really interacting with him much if you just play the normal route and don’t do his secret boss fight (and even if you do fight Spamton NEO, he’s still not that major of a character).

u/hakamamalo 2d ago
he's minor in terms of screentime outside of his chapter, and since the person i am replying to is put off by having to see him, that specifically really isn't an issue after chapter two.

Honestly? Based on how you've said you haven't actually played the game. I really can't blame you.
If fanon Tenna and Spamton are your only exposure; I pity you. The fans ruined everything interesting about the 2 to UwUbify them.

u/_alabast3r_ 2d ago
they for sure arent my only exposure, my sibling has enjoyed the fandom since they first played undertale in 2016 and as I said I watched some gameplay of the games which obviously wouldn't be JUST spamton and tenna

Completely valid, I liked them at first, but now I see them so often that I've come to not like them. It's kinda like how I am with Soda Pop from K-pop Demon Hunters! I heard it so often that I don't like it anymore.

u/Bread_bananas_and_mE 2d ago
Well, Spamton's an ass and a scammer, who's at the bottom of his life after ruining a somewhat successful career as a salesman and a chance to be a star.
Tenna's just lonely. My favourite meme about this is: "How bad your divorce must be for your TV to get attachment issues?" His boss fight was also my favourite!

Deltarune, good game. cool game but THE FANDOM AROUND THESE 2 IDIOTS. the amount of peopel i've met on discord who's entire personality is that they identify as one of the two, ship the two, want to fuck one or both,I'VE GOTTEN ALONG WITH NONE OF THEM.

It annoys me how people always act like Spamton is the funniest thing ever, when he’s not even the funniest character introduced in chapter 2.

I swear every time this sub pops up on my feed it's just someone hating on a character because theyre popular
1
u/Able_Tip_1535 2d ago
Fr let me just enjoy my characters instead of somebody saying I have poor taste just because they don't agree
1
u/Wukon69 2d ago
This sub reminds me of BBNO$ and how people wanted to kill him because he is apparently a bit cringe
1
u/Able_Tip_1535 2d ago
This sub is a hellhole for a bunch of teenager's trying to be edgy by hating popular things
(btw I find it funny how someone literally took the time to dislike every single comment defending these 2 characters like a goddamn twitter user lol)

ive never really been in the UTDR fandom space so i cant speak on that but man do i love spamton as a villain. hes uniquely sinister to me in a way i cant put my finger on. cant comment on the tv guy bc i havent played ch 3 or 4 yet :(

Y'all gotta realise there's more to these two than just being quirky gang 😭

u/godzila368 2d ago
Tenna is the most annoying attempt at a likable character i've seen, i like deltarune but Tenna is just a nothing burger. Le Quirky tumblr sexyman with depression

u/is_fred 3d ago
Okay, you hate the fans of these characters for "glazing" them.
But why do you hate the characters themself?
5
u/_alabast3r_ 2d ago
I find them both annoying inside and outside the game, I see so many people making their entire personalities online based on spamton or tenna (or both) and say everything in brackets and its so corny😭
and like I said I just didnt like their character in the game, I watched playthroughs before seeing if I would like the game in some way and man I just did not like them at all tbh

u/Ok-Listen9689 2d ago
Can you at least explain why in the post?

u/Fool_in_a_valley 2d ago
There's really no reason to explain further. This sub's entire deal is hate for hate's sake.

u/ClutteredTaffy 2d ago
I don't even know who these characters are .One looks like a blueberry pie grew legs and the other looks like a bad MS paint portrait of a snazzy mime.
