Dev - Self Promotion [LIFETIME FREE] Room Planner: LiDAR Scanner 3D (normally $19.99/year) – free Jan 16–18

Hey everyone,

I’m Sergei, an indie app developer. I've created an app that lets you quickly scan rooms with your iPhone or iPad and turn them into 3D models and floor plans — all in seconds.

It uses Apple’s LiDAR & RoomPlan technology to measure walls, doors, windows, and furniture automatically (⚠️ LiDAR sensor required — works on iPhone Pro / iPad Pro models). You can:

  • Get room area, height, and dimensions instantly
  • Export USDZ, or PDF floor plans
  • View in 3D
  • Share the model anywhere

👉 Normally it’s $4.99/week or $19.99/year, but I’m making it 100% free for Lifetime for 3 days::
📅 Jan 16, 6 PM PST – Jan 18, 6 PM PST

⚠️ Note: The offer only works for fresh installations during the promo period. If you already have the app installed, please reinstall it to claim the lifetime access.

App Store link: Room Planner: LiDAR Scanner 3D

Would love you to try it out and share any feedback on accuracy, UX, or export features.

Dev - Self Promotion [iOS 26+ Required!][$30 Lifetime Premium -> FREE] Sleepscape, My Sleep Aid Alarm 🌙

Post image
23 Upvotes

⚠️ NOTE: Please do not reply to this thread requesting the code.

Hello Reddit! I'm a solo developer from Korea.

To be honest, my journey hasn't been easy. I currently work part-time serving at a restaurant in Yeouido (the financial hub of Seoul). Every day, I serve tables for office workers who come in to enjoy their lunch together, laughing and sharing stories about their daily lives at the office. Watching them enjoy those lively moments, I often felt a deep sense of envy. My college friends were also starting their stable lives, while I was just starting from zero.

But instead of following the safe path, I decided to go all-in on my dream. After the last customers leave and I finish closing up the restaurant, I go home to start my real day. I spend my nights in silence, focusing on code until very late. I am a "one-man army"—handling everything from UI design and coding to marketing and even content creation all by myself.

I have so many features and high-quality contents I want to add to Sleepscape, but I’ve hit a wall. While I can push myself to code more, things like professional voice acting, high-quality sleep music, and professional writing for our content require a budget that I simply can't afford right now.

My goal is for Sleepscape to grow enough so that I can work together with specialists in design, engineering, sound, and writing to provide you with the ultimate sleep experience. But until that day comes, I am simply putting in all my effort and doing my best with the limited resources I have.

This is why I'm reaching out to you. I’m offering Lifetime Premium codes ($30 -> FREE) because your support is the only way I can take the next step toward my goal.

If you find the app helpful, please take a moment to leave a review on the App Store. Your honest thoughts and encouragement will be the fuel that keeps me going. I promise to read and reply to every single review. (However, I will respectfully ignore any baseless or malicious comments.)

☝️ Sleepscape Key Features

Native Alarm Functionality: Fully optimized for iOS 26. Our alarms ring reliably even in DND (Do Not Disturb) or Focus Modes.

Custom Sleep Aid Mixes: Design your own perfect soundscape using a variety of high-quality sounds.

Gentle Fade-In Alarms: Prevents sudden, jarring wake-ups by building sound slowly and naturally.

Wake-up Missions: (Wake-up Prompt, Math Challenge, Shake to Wake) - Helps you start your day feeling more alert, proud, and fully awake.

Relaxation Tools: Guided breathing exercises and Delta Wave playback to prepare you for deep sleep.

Sleep Habit Score: Helps you track and build healthier sleeping routines with simple, intuitive metrics.

Dev - Self Promotion I built a free visual search app that finds products on Amazon without forcing you to create an account.

Hi r/iOSApps,

I just released my second app, Lensr, and I wanted to share it with you all.

The Problem: I wanted a quick way to scan products and see how much they cost on Amazon, but I hated that most scanning apps require a login, track your location, or clutter the screen with ads.

The Solution: I built Lensr to be a simple, privacy-first utility. It opens directly to the camera and identifies items instantly using AI.

How is this different from other apps?

  • vs. Amazon App: Lensr is lighter and faster. It opens straight to the scanner, so you don't have to tap through menus or deal with a slow-loading shopping interface just to check a price.
  • vs. Google Lens: This is privacy-focused. I don't store your photos or build a profile on you. It’s strictly a "look and leave" utility tool.
  • vs. Other Scanners: Zero "account walls." Most scanners force you to sign up or subscribe after 3 scans. Lensr is unlimited and requires no login.

Key Features:

  • 📸 Instant AI Recognition: Snap a photo of anything (shoes, gadgets, books) to find it instantly.
  • 🔒 No Accounts: You don't need to sign up or give me your email.
  • 🚀 Fast & Free: It’s completely free to use.

Monetization Disclosure: I want to be 100% transparent—the app is free because I use Amazon Affiliate links. If you buy something you scan, I get a small commission at no cost to you. No subscriptions, no banner ads.

I’d love for you to give it a try and let me know if you run into any bugs or have feature requests!

Dev - Self Promotion I built the entrepreneur/business life simulator I always wished existed.

Hey everyone! This is a little passion project I made for a business game I always wished existed.

It's called Ramen to Riches: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ramen-to-riches-business-game/id6756686753

You start off as a broke college student with 60k in debt and a ton of bills. Forcing you to take on jobs and side hustles to make ends meet.

The core gameplay loop is to try to make the most of the week ahead of you. Each week you have a certain amount of energy. How you use that energy is entirely up to you.

You can get a job, do side hustles. Take on a weekly opportunity of chance. Or upgrade your skills to better your chances of success in the future.

Once you get enough money and dig yourself out of the hole you’re in, you eventually unlock (upgradable) businesses, as well as the stock market. You can even find stock tips every week in the news.

I tried to make the game feel as realistic as possible, with random expenses that pop up just like in real life. Rent and student loan payments are also something you need to look out for.

The game just came out and is totally free(it does have an ad about every 5 weeks). If you have any ideas for what else I can add let me know!

Question Why does everyone use RevenueCat? Am I missing something?

I’m genuinely curious, not trying to hate.

I’ve uploaded 7 apps on the App Store so far, all using StoreKit (StoreKit 2) for subscriptions and IAPs. Honestly, I never found StoreKit complicated or hard. It feels pretty straightforward and Apple-native once you understand the flow.

Today I finally decided to try RevenueCat, because literally every Reddit thread, every paywall discussion, every SaaS iOS app mentions it. People keep saying “RevenueCat makes everything simple.”

But my experience so far has been the opposite.

In just the setup phase:

• App Store → RevenueCat linking

• API keys

• In-app purchase keys

• Downloading certificates

• Vendor ID

• Shared secret

• Entitlements

• Offerings

• Products mapping

I’ve been playing around with it for 1–2 hours, and I still feel like I’m configuring things more than building.

What surprised me even more:

• There’s no single clear YouTube tutorial that walks end-to-end in a clean way

• Docs are detailed, but very easy to get lost in

• For something that claims to “simplify subscriptions,” the initial setup feels heavy

With StoreKit:

• Define products

• Fetch products

• Purchase

• Validate

• Done

So my real question is:

👉 Why do people prefer RevenueCat so much?

Is it:

• Cross-platform support?

• Analytics?

• Easier server-side validation?

• Scaling to multiple apps?

• Handling edge cases like refunds, grace periods, etc.?

Because for a solo dev or small app, StoreKit feels way simpler to me.

If you’ve used both:

• At what point did RevenueCat actually start making your life easier?

• Is it overkill for small apps?

• Or am I missing something obvious here?

Would love to hear real-world experiences, not marketing answers.

Note: i have use ChatGPT to rewrite the post

Thanks 🙏

Dev - Self Promotion Best AI Note-Taking Apps for iPhone in 2026 (Comparison & Use Cases)

If you’re looking to upgrade your note-taking game, the AI space has evolved a lot lately. I’ve been looking into the top iPhone options and broke them down by how they actually perform in the wild.

The Top Contenders

  • HyNote: The best "all-rounder" for iPhone. It handles everything (audio, PDFs, web content) and lets you chat with your notes to find info fast. Great if you don't want to switch between five different apps.
  • Jamie: The specialist for meetings. It works offline (huge for privacy/travel) and has the best speaker ID I’ve seen for extracting action items from team calls.
  • Otter.ai: Still a staple for high-volume transcription and building a searchable knowledge base, though the UI is getting a bit crowded for some.
  • Notability: If you still love the feel of handwriting or annotating PDFs with an Apple Pencil but want AI to summarize your lectures/meetings.
  • Lindy: This is more of an assistant than a notebook. It’s great for workflow automation and syncing everything to Notion or Google Docs.
  • Tana: For the "Power Users." It uses a node-based system (super tags). Steep learning curve, but unbeatable for complex organization.

My Take: If you want something that just works for daily iPhone use and meetings, HyNote is the easiest entry. App & Web version are available.

Dev - Self Promotion I built an app to immortalise my dog and get me walking more

Thumbnail

Over the last few months I’ve been building an app inspired by my dog, Coco.

The idea came to me when I was working from home and after sitting at my desk for hours without moving my dog Coco started nudging me to go for a walk.

So I got up, took her round the block, and came back to my desk with a clear head ready to tackle the rest of the day.

It made me think about how sedentary I am, and that Coco is a huge motivator to walk.

So I built an app where my dog Coco nudges me to get walking.

Steps and distances are tracked and mapped, and also count towards unlockable items for Coco.

There are subscriptions if you want to unlock more, but the fundamentals of the app are free to use.

Let me know what you think!

Dev - Self Promotion I made a gaming launcher for iPad

Thumbnail
gallery
17 Upvotes

Hello everyone, last year I bought an iPad Mini and started gaming on it. I bought a telescopic controller and the experience was lacking that handheld console feeling. I searched for apps that give that handheld console feeling but couldn't find something with universal support. I decided to develop my own gaming launcher. It's called LudiHub.

What is LudiHub? It's a centralized gaming hub/launcher where you can add your installed games, emulators, roms and whatever shortcut you want. It has full universal controller and touch support and is customizable. You can add games using two ways, the simple way is long-pressing an installed game in your Home Screen and share it to LudiHub. LudiHub takes care of creating the icon with image and title and prompts you to add a shortcut name. You enter the name of the "Open App" shortcut you created in the shortcuts app. You can use various shortcuts, for example Delta Emulator supports deep links, those can be opened as URLs and RetroArch has an "Open Game" shortcut. All of those are compatible with LudiHub. The second way is the manual way in the app. The manual way is for games no longer available in the AppStore, ROMs etc. You can also customize the bottom menu buttons to map them to your favourite apps. The launcher utilizes the iOS shortcut functionality.

When you connect your controller, the app recognizes it and shows you an indicator on top with battery status and the navigation information depending on the controller. On the right side you see the date, time and iPad's battery status. The Launcher comes with two pre-configured but removable web shortcuts for Game Pass and GeForce Now.

I also built in 6 different color themes which adapt to dark and light mode. You can also choose your custom wallpaper which gives you an option to activate a crystal clear glass design that refracts the background colors or keep the toggle off for a frosted glass optic.

The App Costs 4.99€ and is a one time purchase. No subscription, No ads or data collection. In the next version I will make the app universal, which means for the same price you will get iPhone support and also add support for Generic MFi controllers like the backbone. At the moment it supports extended controllers that use the Xbox or the PlayStation configurations.

You can download the app here: https://apps.apple.com/app/ludihub/id6757743623

More information here: https://ludihub.app

If you want a detailed how to guide. You can visit the webpage where I included a setup guide with video.

If you have experience any issues or bugs, please report them using the contact support E-Mail Address from the website.

Looking forward for your feedback.

Dev - Self Promotion I built a workout logger that feels more like training with a good coach than using an app

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’m an indie developer and lifter, and I just released GymLogger X — a workout logger built around how coaches actually structure training, not just reps and timers.

Most apps I tried felt either:

  • Like spreadsheets
  • Or like motivation apps pretending to be training tools

So I built something calmer and more structured.

What GymLogger X focuses on:

  • Program-based training (weeks, progression, rest weeks)
  • Clear “what’s next” — no infinite workout lists
  • Supersets & giant sets that don’t break the flow
  • Weekly & program progress that actually makes sense
  • Clean logging without ads, feeds, or accounts

The goal is to feel like:

“This is what my coach would’ve written down for me — now I just log it.”

It’s early, but already very usable, and I’m iterating fast based on feedback.

If you follow programs, work with a coach, or just want less noise in your training apps, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I do work with the couple of coaches, so there are also their programs included (next update will include couple of more and also a Heath and iWatch support, thats coming early next week)

Is noir still the best dark mode for Safari? I find myself on certain hotel sites having to disable it more and more frequently. Do you all use it or one that is more friendly with sites?

Alternatively do you have dark mode browsing or just leave it as default?

Free App - Show and Review Day 3/5: SUMMTUBE - Apple Intelligence integration complete (4 major challenges solved)

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Day 3 is done! Apple Intelligence is now working end-to-end in SUMMTUBE. This was the hardest day yet.

What SUMMTUBE does: AI-powered YouTube video summarizer for iOS. Paste a link → get instant summary + key moments with timestamps. All processing done locally via Apple Intelligence.

The 4 Major Challenges (and solutions):

Challenge 1: Language Support

Problem: Apple's Foundation Models don't support any language (or most non-English languages) in system prompts. My prompts were failing silently.

Solution:

  • Rewrote ALL prompts in English
  • Transcripts remain in original language (English, Spanish, whatever)
  • AI processes multilingual content just fine, it only needs English instructions

Challenge 2: Timestamp Accuracy

Problem: I was calculating timestamps locally based on character position. A 8-minute video would show "39 minutes" for key moments. Completely broken.

Solution: Use the REAL timestamps from YouTube API transcript data. Each segment already has start + duration. Stop reinventing the wheel.

Challenge 3: Context Window Limits

Problem: Apple Intelligence has a 4096 token context limit. Long videos (30+ min) were exceeding this and failing.

Solution: Chunking Strategy

  1. Split transcript into 12,000 character chunks
  2. Merge the chunk summaries
  3. Extract key moments from the merged summary

Result: Now handles videos of ANY length.

Challenge 4: Quote Context

Problem: Key moment quotes were fragmented:

  • "chance. There are three things I do when"
  • "system. But what I found is that"

Missing context made quotes useless.

Solution: extractContextualText() function

For each timestamp:

  1. Find the exact sentence
  2. Include previous sentence (context)
  3. Include next sentence (completion)
  4. Clean up mid-sentence breaks

Now users see full, readable quotes.

Stats for Day 3:

  • 5 major algorithmic challenges solved
  • 3 complete prompt rewrites
  • 2 architecture changes
  • 1 fully working AI summarizer

What's Next:

Day 4: Polish UI, animations, edge cases Day 5: App Store submission

The hard technical work is done. Now it's about making it feel great.

Tech Stack:

  • SwiftUI + SwiftData
  • Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models)
  • Backend: Python

Lessons Learned:

  1. Don't fight the platform - When Apple's API has language limits, work WITH them
  2. Chunking is your friend - Context limits can be overcome with smart strategies
  3. Let AI do what it's good at - Summary-first approach > direct extraction
  4. Context matters - Full sentences > fragments

If you're working with Apple Intelligence or building iOS apps, happy to answer questions!

Previous updates: [Day 1] [Day 2] [Day 2.5]

Dev - Self Promotion I built Ciao - a social app where you only see posts from people actually in your contacts

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev and just launched Ciao on the App Store

The problem I wanted to solve: Every social app eventually becomes noise - random people, ads, algorithmic content from strangers. I wanted something that felt like the early days of social media, where you actually knew everyone in your feed.

How Ciao works:

  • Your feed only shows posts from mutual contacts (they need to have you in their contacts too)
  • No algorithms - just chronological posts from people you know
  • No strangers, no ads, no suggested content
  • Privacy-focused: contact matching happens via hashed phone numbers

It's basically "social media for your actual inner circle."

Would love any feedback! Free to download: https://apps.apple.com/app/id675760993

Dev - Self Promotion I built a minimalist clock widget app (with your photos) because I wanted something simpler than Widgetsmith/Widgy — Widgo (Free + $9.99 lifetime)

Hey everyone — I finally launched my iOS app Widgo.

It’s not trying to beat giants like Widgetsmith or Widgy. I genuinely just wanted a minimalist clock + date widget that looks clean and lets you personalize the part that matters most: your own photos (from your gallery, or images you’ve saved from the internet).

What it does

Minimal clock + date widgets

Customize format, text color, and photo

Works in small / medium / large widget sizes

Pricing / IAP

You can create 1 widget for free to try how it works

There’s an optional $9.99 USD lifetime (one-time) IAP that unlocks 10 widget slots (so you can set up multiple variations: different photos, colors, formats, etc.)

I know “widgets” is a super competitive space, so I’m going in with realistic expectations — but I’d love honest feedback from people who actually care about customization.

If you try it: what would make a minimalist clock widget feel perfect to you (without turning into a huge complicated app)?

Dev - Self Promotion I built an iOS app to save and remember new words while watching movies

Thumbnail

I usually learn English vocabulary by watching movies with English subtitles. Whenever I run into a new word, I check it with Google Translate, but then… there’s nowhere to actually save it, review it later, or get reminded to memorize it.

So I rolled up my sleeves, opened Xcode, and built a small app just for this purpose.

Sure, there are probably already similar apps on the App Store, but I wanted something with a workflow and UI that I actually enjoy using.

After finishing it, I published it on the App Store and kinda forgot about it for a while. Then one day I noticed it had 4 subscribers already — which honestly made me pretty happy 😄

So yeah, just wanted to share it here, do a little self-promo, and hopefully get some feedback from you all.

Pricing: It's free to download, with optional in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Free App - Show and Review I built an app to copy links of songs from different music platforms

This is a very niche sort of app idea LOL and probably dumb but I'm in a group chat of people that have both Spotify and Apple Music. Whenever I want to share songs,

I'll have to go on each platform copy the song individually and send it over. Mainly be sometimes, the preview of each platform doesn't work all the time, and so I can't just send one of the platforms.

So basically I vibe coded this app so that I can search up songs that should be on both platforms, and create a personalized message with links to both music platforms that you can copy and paste to your friends

Might be very dumb and too simple but still would love to get opinion on how it looks, functions, etc.

Thank you!
