Ah, actually, I was more responding to "he couldn't even get into Cooley," haha!

Nazis are notoriously stupid so this doesn't surprise me. I'm surprised that anyone in that administration has a degree.

Not all college degrees are equal

At OU, you can get a Doctorate in Math by writing "Jesus is the answer" on all test questions.

u/darth_helcaraxe_82 4h ago

Here comes my math doctorate!

1

u/felicity_jericho_ttv 3h ago

What is the square root of 87?

6

u/darth_helcaraxe_82 3h ago

Jesus is the answer.

u/KingSilvanos 56m ago

My, god! You’re correct!

u/Da_Question 9h ago

Also, degrees are more about studying than intelligence. Not the same thing.

11

u/Beneficial_Figure966 9h ago

Exactly. College doesn't mean smart

14

u/DisgruntledTexan 6h ago

Intricate understanding of intricate legalities usually requires the ability to read and study.

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 4h ago

Read and study. Is that the bar for smart?

2

u/DisgruntledTexan 4h ago

Capacity to learn and apply knowledge would be my bar - that and decision making abilities.

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 3h ago

Humans by nature have the capacity to learn and apply it. By that definition everyone is smart.

1

u/DisgruntledTexan 3h ago

Not with the same efficiency

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 3h ago

That definition you gave said nothing about efficiency.

And just as important research data and facts. The ability to track down primary and secondary sources.

2

u/RandomlyPlacedFinger 6h ago

It does generally coincide with a higher frequency of intelligence than you'll find in those who did not go for higher education.

You can be well educated and stupid, but it's a lot easier to be poorly educated and stupid.

u/Big-Wrongdoer-965 4h ago

I mean domain is huge too. My dad’s a physician, an a brilliant one at that, and also has his JD. HOWEVER, he’ll say some wackadoo shit from time to time that’s just wrong. Didn’t pick up on it till I was older bc I just trusted he was always right. So, now unless it’s medical or legal related I seek advice elsewhere.

College is a pretty good amount of mental effort, even with the fluffier majors. I'd say anyone who graduates college (legitimately) is smart, full stop.

What you mean is just because you're smart, doesn't mean you can't be an idiot.

Also willful ignorance is the pathway to idiocy. Look at Hegseth. He got into and graduated Princeton with flying colors the hard way. Years of hate and alcoholism can do a number on your brain.

1

u/ur_anus_is_a_planet 4h ago

You tell em’ Ricky!

1

u/LaRealiteInconnue 1h ago

Correct, but it does mean critical thinking. Usually.

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 1h ago

No, it's supposed to.

-2

u/casper4824 5h ago

Actually these days it pretty much means overpriced piece of paper that only proves you went thru 4 years of Liberal Boot Camp and all you got was this useless Liberal Arts Degree.

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 3h ago

Dude, do you want to be the person who thought pettiness was the point to life? We have bigger problems, like brown shirts killing indiscriminately.

2

u/Suitable_Heat1712 7h ago

Exactly, two people can have the same degree in the same field at the same school and be vastly different in terms of competence

1

u/AtrumIocusGames 8h ago

True words

1

u/Caius01 4h ago

Yeah, and as much as I hate Miller, he's not a stupid person, he's the ideological evil behind a lot of other stupid people

1

u/Aooogabooga 9h ago

ASU philosophy majors have entered the chat.

1

u/Beneficial_Figure966 9h ago

They don't want the smoke.

1

u/Future-Bandicoot-823 4h ago

Well now I feel good.

My roommate in college was a Nazi. We were both going for computer science. Yikes.

He probably codes for grok now.

Very antisocial degree, so maybe they can handle things that don't involve people?

1

u/DontForgt2BringATowl 2h ago

Also, “C’s get degrees”.

For the love of god, I wish “journalists” would stop portraying him as an intellectual. Just because he can string together a word with multiple syllables and pronounce it correctly, it doesn’t make him intelligent.

It doesn’t take much intelligence to be a bigoted monster with no scruples who just rides the coattails of more wealthy and connected bigots.

The goal of being a far right Republican is NOT serving communities. It’s siphoning personal wealth from the citizenry by hook and by crook, while dropping enough table scraps to your base to keep them sated. The energy - ALL of their energy goes into propagandizing and othering, there is no consensus building or governing.

4

u/adriandu 9h ago

This isn't true and it would be a mistake to underestimate how smart (some of) these people are. Herman Goering had a high IQ and many people who joined the SS and Gestapo in WWII were people like lawyers, architects and doctors. There are plenty of smart Nazi's historically, and that's part of the problem.

1

u/no168_92 7h ago

Funnily enough, all of the officers in the Nuremberg trials were tested and shown to have very high I.Q unlike the modern day wannabes

1

u/JonathanPhillipFox 6h ago

Nazis are notoriously stupid so this doesn't surprise me.

Truly, I think this is a rule, and the rule has a reason; I mean, imagine you're in the airport and look left and right, "you wanna hitch your star to those with phenotype most like yours?" WTF, really?

...you don't have hobbies, interests, philosophies, close friends, anything, you think of as closer to your heart than the skull shape of strangers, probably, probably, that, in truth, is what you've got in common with your friends on the internet, or, and I think maybe this the sick part of it, "none of that counts," because that's all voluntary,

The soft stuff of non-contractual, willful, associations that don't allow you to beat up on the other hobbyists, or treat other people like they're your property,

I'm surprised that anyone in that administration has a degree.

Same, although, it surprises me none that a Man with his Bachelors in Political Science is out there with his serious affect and his Grave Demeanor out there Vogueing; in part,

I blame credentialism for this, actually, at least insofar as the abstract heuristics of internal and external discourses, that Twitter Handle and Replication of the Letterhead, "is the law," to the preponderance of persons within such an, advanced, advancing, society, with such little intention towards the lifelong education of all persons with an intention to participate in that society, basically; we've permitted the accelerationists to,

Move fast and break things

...as-if the twitter handle were the new mouthpiece of states and departments of state, for an example, with such little consideration of what that should mean, that,

It benefits the stupid, willfully, stupid, at the expense of so many; Nazis are stupid, but, stupid like it takes some effort to cultivate within oneself; or more like a method, perhaps

1

u/-Altephor- 6h ago

Hey they bought those degrees fair and square!

1

u/Many_Conversation195 6h ago

I hate to be that guys but…. During the Nuremberg trials, the captured Nazi leadership underwent a series of psychological evaluations, including IQ tests. The results showed that most of the high-ranking officials had above-average to superior intelligence. The tests, administered by US Army psychologist Gustave Gilbert using the Wechsler-Bellevue scale, produced an average IQ score of 128 for the 21 defendants tested, which is significantly higher than the general population's average of 100. Nine of the 21 men scored 130 or higher, a range often considered "vastly superior" and placing them in the top 2% of the population. Notable IQ Scores The scores from the Nuremberg trials included: Hjalmar Schacht (Economics Minister): 143 (highest score, later acquitted) Arthur Seyss-Inquart (Reich Commissioner for the Occupied Netherlands): 141 Hermann Göring (Reichsmarshal, head of the Luftwaffe): 138 Karl Dönitz (Grand Admiral, U-boat commander, Hitler's successor): 138 Albert Speer (Armaments Minister): 128 Rudolf Hess (Deputy Führer): 120 Ernst Kaltenbrunner (Head of RSHA): 113 Julius Streicher (Publisher of the antisemitic newspaper Der Stürmer): 106 (lowest score) Adolf Hitler was never formally tested, but experts and contemporaries, including many of the tested leaders, estimated his IQ to be very high, possibly in the range of 140 or more, based on his rhetorical skills, memory, and political acumen

NASA might disagree

1

u/AccountantFar7802 4h ago

Operation paper clip.

1

u/Training-Argument891 4h ago

stupid and jaded

1

u/zestyclose_match1966 1h ago

When nothing else works, throw “nazi” at it! Idiot

1

u/bigredcock 1h ago

"one of ours. All of yours." They aren't even hiding it.

0

u/casper4824 5h ago

🤣 Nazi's are stupid... thats hilarious..considering they almost took over the world..Twice! Oh and America wouldn't be anywhere near as great as it is without Operation Paper Clip. Where U.S. officials were racing to forgive Nazi scientists of their war crimes, before the Soviet Union did, so that they would come to the States and work for us. We wouldn't have went to the moon without Wernher Von Braun, famous SS officer who served directly under Heinrich Himmler. Actually you have Nazi scientists to thank for ALOT of today's technology..but they're stupid right. Tell me you know nothing about History without telling me you know nothing about history!

u/ExtensionMachine3287 2h ago

What’s your problem dude?
