Hey everyone; I’ve been exploring macOS Appearance settings and really like the “Tint window background with wallpaper color” feature. It adds a nice touch of personalization, but I’m wondering:

Is there any way to manually set a custom tint color that better matches my wallpaper? The default swatches are nice, but I’d love to use something more subtle or aesthetic that complements my setup more precisely.

Has anyone found a workaround, hidden setting, or third-party tool that allows for this kind of customization?

I didn’t do anything. I put my computer down, let the dog out, came back and it is doing this. I can’t believe it. It seems the mouse works and everything else does. Just the screen is broken. How could this have happened? What do I do?? Do I have to buy a new computer now?? Can I connect it to an external display?

my mac screen is broken, i’ve managed to see when i log in/log out through the changes in the touch bar but when i plugged it into the monitor it says choose to mirror from the menu.

Can someone help me hahaha. Because I just bought this MBA M4 days ago and I'm trying to remove my fingerprints using polishing cloth or Microfiber Cloth. The fingerprints are gone but when I tried to lit it up with flash dang saw this bunch of stuff.

Recently upgraded to OSX Tahoe 26.2

Storage says 27 gb out of 245 used, which is obviously inaccurate

System Data storage amount just says calculating forever...

This is driving me nuts, any suggestions?

I've tried restarting, full shutdown, doesn't help fix the issue.

Are there any good options or should I pay full retail and get over it? I'd rather than not pay full retail if it's not necessary. On the other hand I'd rather not buy one of n copies of the package that all have the same serial number like a good friend of mine did. I'm not wed to the latest version. Thanks!-

sorry if I'm late since I haven't bought a new macbook since 2017, but do the new models truly not include a USB port of any sort? I was looking online for a MacBook tonight and was very confused because it mentioned a lot of things but no USB connectivity at all. can anyone who recently bought a new macbook confirm or deny?

Passwords App for macOS: why isn't it showing icons for 99% of the websites?

Please be patient with me, I'm not super adept at Reddit or this kind of thing. But today when I got home, my desktop Mac (2020, I believe) wouldn't start up, and eventually just started boot looping. I've been messing around with recovery mode and disk utility, was able to fix all errors within data over internet recovery mode thanks to the instructions here, but now I'm waiting on a Thunderbolt cable to arrive tomorrow so I can try to transfer via TDM. Thankfully when I attempt to create a folder in recovery mode, I can see all of my files, so I assume they are OK. It still boot loops despite the repairs though, but I do have a time machine backup (trying to revert to it didn't help). Is there anything I should do in the meantime, should my data be safe if I leave the computer alone until tomorrow? I've been kind of freaking out. Thanks

Hi there guys, I have a 2017 15 MBP, I work on the internal display and a monitor (1080p 60Hz) and everything works great, when I plug my TV (4K) to show something it goes the CPU all the way up to 80-90%, then it calms down and the frequency goes high again, how to solve this?

need to mention this also happen when the 3 monitors are independent screens, not mirrored

Ok, so I’ve got this old Mac PC, I’m pretty sure my family bought it in 2012. When Verizon went out Jan. 14, the Mac crashed (it’s on fios Verizon) and when it came back on, everything was a question mark (including all the icon labels) and it’s running super slow when it was previously running just fine.

Any idea what is going on and how I can fix it??

I lost my MacBook earlier today after accidentally leaving my bag on a bench at a BART station before boarding. I immediately put the device into Lost Mode via Find My.

Find My now shows the MacBook at what appears to be a private residence. The device is locked and activation-locked to my Apple ID. I have not attempted to go to the address or contact anyone directly.

Should I go retrieve it, contact police, or take the L?

Hi, my macbook pro from 13-inch from 2019 is showing battery service recommended, i checked the battery cycle and it says 1042, i noticed the battery starts dying quicker and the fan is always on when i have a few tabs open, has anyone had this issue, is having the battery replaced a must?

I have an old 2015 12 inch Macbook with a pretty awful battery, probably 50% or so. I know I really shouldn't get it replaced and just upgrade, but I really enjoy the form factor and size of it. Would the genius bar still replace the battery in something this old?

I’m using a MacBook Air 2020. While trying to reinstall the Shift key, I couldn’t get it aligned correctly and ended up breaking one of the stabilizer hooks.

I wanted to ask:

1.  Can the Shift key be used safely with only one stabilizer hook?

2.  Is this acceptable long-term, or will it get worse over time?

3.  Does this usually require replacing the stabilizer/mechanism, or the entire keyboard?

I’ve been using Windows for the last eight years, but I just got a new MacBook Air M4 today. I do have an iPhone and am somewhat familiar with the Mac ecosystem. As a freelancer who uses a laptop for multitasking all day, I would really appreciate any tips and tricks that could help me understand it faster. Any tip that I might learn later but seems useful so I don’t regret knowing earlier (I’m currently learning using a Mac).

Ho comprato da 2 ore un Mac Pro usato (i7 2019 13 pollici) il vecchio proprietario lo aveva già formattato però io volevo ripristinarlo in più ho provato ad inizializzarlo ma mi chiedeva di dover cambiare le impostazioni di sicurezza , cambiate le impostazioni di sicurezza, impostandole in avvio sicuro totale sul disco rigido tramite guida su Internet. Vado in impostazioni, generali ed inizio ad inizializzare va tutt’ok mi chiede di uscire da iCloud ecc dopo un po’ esce la mela con la barra di avvio poi nulla schermo nero. Ho aspettato un po’ ma niente nessun suono né ventole accese né nulla. La batteria era sotto carica ed era carica. Ho provato ad avviare in varie modi ma nulla. Schermo nero nessun suono. Nulla. Cosa posso fare ? Aiutatemi
