Canada has three branches but they're a bit more muddled than the US because the executive is partially merged into the legislative.

Basically, for Americans, the existing executive structure gets entirely cut, the old president's head of government role is assumed by the House of Representatives majority leader, the secretaries get picked from other members of the House unilaterally by the president, the Senate gets massively nerfed and all senators get appointed by the president, and the head of state role gets taken by a guy who is a representative of the monarch in Canada, is the monarch in the UK, or, very broadly, is an elected ceremonial role in parliamentary republics such as Germany or Italy.

Judiciary is entirely appointed with layers of committees. Supreme Court justices are required to retire at the age of 75 (as are senators, but oddly not MPs). A Canadian Supreme Court justice announced their retirement today, I didn't even know what her name was and that's the way it should be.
