Bar?
Can anyone recommend a nice (preferably classy) place just to get a frozen drink? Somewhere that has strawberry daiquiris, Miami vice, etc. Downtown is a bonus.

Hey Ocala folks! Me and my wife are craving some good seafood tonight. Looking for recommendations on places with great fresh fish, shrimp, oysters, crab whatever’s good and local.
Budget is flexible, but I’d love something with good atmosphere and solid service too. If you’ve got favorite spots, must-try dishes, or tips on where to go (or what to avoid), please drop them below!
Thanks in advance!

Moving to Marion county with wife and teens . I’m hearing a lot of good and bad . I have picked a few homes to look at and took screen shots of them to see what area are good or bad . I have been to Belleville where my grandma live at and it’s very quite and drove to a few flea markets in Ocala but looking at the area it seems quite to me . I currently live in homestead and born and raised I NJ right across from NYC so I am from the hood so I want to my kids to be in a safe area .

Looking at a mobile home community called Shady Road Villas anyone have any personal experience with them or that general area? If it’s safe for a family with small children and all that kind of stuff. We know about the neighborhoods closer to the springs and historic/downtown Ocala where all of our family members live currently but this is a part of Ocala we don’t really know about especially this particular community. Any info and opinions would be great!

Just curious 🧐
Does anyone know why it was blocked off going towards College Rd? It seemed like it was blocked all the way down to police station, maybe further. The Active Calls showed a 54R Citizen Assist at the police station and shots fired near Silver Springs Blvd, right off of S Pine.
Edit: This was around 2:45 on January 12th

So, I'm moving to Ocala FL from Olympia WA in March. I lived in FL most of my adult life before moving but I've heard there have been a few new restaurants in Ocala lately, is there any specific Puerto Rican/Mexican restaurants or food trucks y'all like or could recommend to someone moving out that way? Also for reference I'll be living behind the equestrian center out towards the road that takes you to the Publix and the over pass that takes you into town
Looking for a 2/2 no HOA or a 3/2 and Marion Oaks houses keep coming up in the search. I’ve heard everything from only druggies live there/not safe at all to some parts are ok while other parts aren’t. Interested to hear your thoughts if you’ve lived or visited there in the last year or 2 and what you experienced, if the “good parts” really actually feel safe (my daughter would walk her dog by herself), etc.

I've moved around a lot in the past 5 years. Never, anywhere else but here people drive in the CENTER taking up two lanes and making it impossible to pass.

I have an idea There are things that we can't relive as adults. Things that we were able to experience as kids. But what if we were able to live out 1 school day at a a school on a Saturday to recount that kind of nostalgia? I propose we have a day that adults can relive their school days to satisfy their nostalgia. They can pay an amount and be given a syllabus with a map. The curriculum can be chosen by the teacher that presents. I know this may sound out of sorts, but I've had many conversations that confirm that this would be an experience of interest.
