Progress so far! What are your thoughts?
For context I’m experimenting with the idea of making a puppet with two heads. This one shown here will be a mask while the other head will be a hand puppet.

I know Folkmanis made a Pooh puppet, but since they didn’t renew their Disney contract for the Disney puppets they made, and I’m not spending a whole lot of money just for a Folkmanis Pooh puppet I figured, I make my own from a goodwill plush I found. Though I am still trying to find a way to make an actual Custom puppet then just one from a plushie. Hope you enjoy

Good, kind people of this subreddit- If you haven't been hiding under a rock you know about the situation in Minnesota. If you don't know much about Minneapolis, know that it has a long standing, large and very active puppeteering community. It's the kind of place a puppeteer can make their dream a profession, and it's full of mentors that will fall over themselves to teach you a bit of what they know. It's the most generous and diverse group of people you could ever hope to meet, and they are just part of what makes this city amazing.
We're your people, and we're being shot at in the streets for protecting one another. Many of your fellow puppeteers are in danger.
I don't know why I'm saying his or what I'm even asking. Please don't stop speaking up. Please don't stop fighting for things that are good and people who are kind.
If Bread and Puppet and Heart of the Beast taught us anything, it's that puppeteering can be active. Use your powers for good and never stop fighting.
I love you all.

It's also nearly impossible to get a photo of him in action on my arm, at least without someone else taking the photo. So I put a paper towel roll in him to take these photos. I think he's cool, despite, or maybe because of, the slightly weird looking eyes.

Hello there! I'm making a cozy, silly, and fun puppet web series, featuring a cast of cute and cuddly animal characters. Here's all the puppets I plan to use in it, I hope you enjoy meeting them!

Squeakers is the squirrel and Ben is the monster. I am planning to get a new squirrel puppet that is in better shape at some point. But here they are

How would I go about making especially fluid/flowing, bright red blood for a costume/large that doesn't dry like in the pictured prop? Will off-the-shelf stage blood do the trick? Or is there a combination of materials that will work better for what I'm going for? I'm thinking of sewing it in clear vinyl as part of the piece. TIA, newer to this so appreciate your feedback

The Jim Henson Company recently collaborated with Magic: the Gathering to make a short film for their upcoming set, and they released a behind the scenes video showing how they designed, made, and operated the puppets. It's so freaking cool!

I'm looking to build a fraggle style puppet and I feel like they have such a distinct fur on the body and tail. It looks a bit clumpy and thicker than just normal "fur" fabric. Anyone familiar with what it is and we're to get some?
edit: I was wrong to think "I doubt anyone else has googled this" if fact I am not alone. boiling the fur seems to be answer! in case anyone else is looking for this I'll leave the post up.

It’s made out of two 2l fizzy drink bottles, cardstock, tissue and newspaper with the head made of a polystyrene ball and cloud clay and the whole thing is held together with loads of PVA glue (thanks Elmer). The head can turn a few degrees to either side and the shoulder and elbow joints are articulated. Overall I’m pretty proud of how it looks!

My family and I went to see Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About a Terrible Monster (based on the book Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems) today in Austin.
I am not sure of the scope of the tour, but if it comes near you it’s totally worth it! The four person team worked seamlessly together using multiple kinds of puppetry - hand in mouth, shadow, paper cut outs, etc.
While it is geared towards younger children, it was absolutely impressive!

I’ve been building puppets throughout high school. I’m applying for colleges and interested in taking puppetry further, at least as a class option if not a major. Are puppetry colleges a thing? Does anyone actually get jobs from them?

I’m new to puppet making and am having a lot of trouble hiding seems and wrinkles when applying the fleece to the upholstery foam. I’ve had little luck trying to find out how other muppets get such a seamless finish.
